In a bored attempt to replicate the aesthetic of the illustrious Daniel Arsham in my own Mandalorian themed sculpture, my frustration of new mediums became my own worst enemy. Meanwhile, the WYB producers decided to hit me while I was down and start documenting my every mistake. But you know what they say; the best teacher is your last mistake (or your last 10 mistakes).

Thumbnail suggestion -- maybe darken the background around the finished product? Right now, it's a little low contrast, and I feel like you probably would want to draw prospective viewers' eyes directly to the SUPER FRICKING AWESOME subject of the video in order to get their attention a bit more. Just some thoughts :P

Arsham 3d prints his objects, you can see in some of the stories. He just makes molds of real items or gets the stl to print from whatever official source hes partnered with. He then casts in "volcanic ash" which is just a fancy name for a type of cheap plaster, carves out sections with a dremel tool and glues in some crystals. Pretty close to your edited method!
This. The only thing that makes this truly unique is Arsham's connections so that he can have access to famous sculptures to 3d scan for use. It isn't hamparte(the art of not having talent), but pretty close.

So, if strictly following Arsham's theory regarding the reasons and stories behind his artist work. Those Crystals should have been mixed in with the plaster before bouring.. since most of his stuff is mass based. And then one would chisel out the materials and finds the crystals... that moment of exposing those crystals are the moments of pure artistic expression. and it correlates with his thinking on how this art in position of time.
But, with some of his huge work, especially in bronze; I would assume he probably took the technical shortcut; added the crystals afterwards...otherwise; those crystals wouldn't be positioned so perfectly in composition. afterall he is famous now; he got engineers and architects running a full production team for him and all his paintings are done by his assistants.
