- The GP40 party ended almost in an emergency. CSX's GP40-3 #6561 and GP40-2 #6072 were somewhat overwhelmed by pulling the local train A730-04 upgrade across the diamonds in downtown Cordele, GA on February 4th, 2018. What's more, three other NS and CSX trains showed up on this pleasant Sunday afternoon in this railroad hot spot in Central Georgia. Enjoy in 4k!

I know. I like the sounds of the joints and crossings in Cordele.
Cordele is a fun rail spot. If the locals don't kill you. Always loved the diamond there with 3 railroads involved. should have taken more video when I live down in Albany and went to Cordele occasionally. Honestly with all the short lines in the region and the street running in Albany I have lots of great video and picture potential that I never had the time to really appreciate. Always in the operating room it seemed.

February 4th, 2018, was also the day of a major collision in Cayce, South Carolina.

Many times I have stopped in Cordele, Ga. to watch trains on the diamonds and I have never got to see them switching and building trains there, that was cool.

I live in an apartment building,had to turn volume down,it's 7:12 am,geeps always get over loaded,it's their calling,once saw an sw1500 in a steel mill connected to 36 loaded coil cars it took 6 minutes for it to travel 1/4 mile at notch 8,poor thing.I will watch this vid again later with the volume all the way up,to catch all the nuances of the sounds.By the way,love this video.

Awesome video! Seems like CSX is asking alot from a couple geeps to move a heavy train like that but then lots of trains seem under powered to me.looking forward to the next video!!
They were working hard, for sure. I think the -2 had also engine problems.

Yes, they went to work some industries nearby, maybe a mile or two away.
