here is a little history about the yankie .. in the 1960s the american soilders started to come to denmark for a exchange program, because we wanted to make the americans feel more at home toms ( the company that makes yankie and other amazing chokotate ) started making the bars. its our version of the mars bar

The Yankie Bar was actually made for the American army in Europe shortly after the end of WW2 where the Americans were in need of candy bars for their troops in Germany, but obviously this kind of candy was impossible to get due to the shortage in Europe of ... well ... just about everything,... but Denmark being a farm country and not too damaged by the war, had no food shortage, so to avoid transporting such products across the Atlantic, the Danish candy producer, Toms, were contacted by the US high command in Germany in 1946, to cut a deal, providing Toms with cocoa beans from South America in return for Toms making candy bars for their troops ... which is why and how it got it's name the 'Yankie Bar'

I love Heksehyl and licorice general. Licorice is a root like ginger. We love licorice so much that you put it in, ice cream, alcohol, chocolate, wine gum, and what you got. There are even some who use it as a sweetener. It is also a fantastic product with many vitamins and minerals. We actually have a queen, for now. She is old, and may have plans to abdicate.

@MenTry The original Yankie bar was in fact developed by Tom's of Copenhagen, as the US Army asked if there were an European candy factory that were able to make an American style candy bar for the G.I.s stationed in Europe after WW2. Tom's won the the contract with the Yankie bar.
