@@TotallyNotCptLevi It dosent detonate, it is just a tungsten projectile jackted in aluminum, but it would still be very deadly just because of its speed and the air pressure it is causing around it
@@mazenghassan2860 apfsds does detonate when the fuse (or charge idk lol) explodes inside of it which I’m not exactly sure but I think it might detonate when enough armor disrupts it or it detonates after a certain period of time but even if I am wrong it’s most effective when it breaks and creates shrapnel which requires it to hit a certain amount of armor (spall liners are to prevent this)
@@TotallyNotCptLevi That hit the engine block which is thick enough to create spall, and the charge you might be thingking off is in the shell to propel the dart out of the barrel and it isnt actually in the dart itself, and the case its in is discards by being popped out of the breech, APFSDS doesn't contain explosive filler.
