Answer to all your questions. I had same issue after a couple thousand km on my 19 silverado LD. I re torqued the u bolts at first. That lasted one block lol. The thing that worked was cutting bike tire or the tubing into 4in strips, and slipping them in between the top two springs. 4 stacked 4 in peaces of tube in front and behind the lift blocks. You can jack up the truck and put a large flat head in between the springs or prybar. Then slip them close to the blocks. I also put some where the clamps are, just slip them in there. I've never had a issue since. 20k later. Also, if the rubber is to thin, add more strips stacked. Or another strip of tire. There is other material you can use , but this is what I did. Hope this helps. People even thought they had diff issues because of this.
I had the update done that omar mentioned and it worked. The dealer i bought the truck would not do it though and argued that it was normal but luckily I have 3 dealers near me so i took it to another one and they did the work. It now has 14000 miles on it and no longer is making noise.
@@2ss701 i am not exactly sure, one of the fixes on the internet is to put rubber between the leaf's the dealer fix worked pretty good and it is much quieter now and don't hear it as much
One issue I had was the leafssprings have this plastic piece like a stopper that wore out and caused a clucking noise. A guy I oklahoma makes this rubber piece that's in that area. I snuggled it in that area, and walaa. No more noise
That’s literally what mine sounds like. The sound seams like it’s loudest around where the center of the axle tubes are. When pushing the top rail of the bed side to side right above the middle of the wheel well. Mine is a 2018 Silverado crew cab LT
I have a 2017 gmc slt did same thing it’s the leaf springs . The small pads in between the leaf are not good they put new ones in mine noise came back in 2000 miles dealership says it normal bull shit
@@JT-gm4fk if you take the brakes off and grab the axle it will go in and out and make the noise ... made like shit. I have a 17 and have not took the diff cove off yet. The axel's are not Shimed right.. I'm upset 😡
I just got a 2021RST. It’s funny because I didn’t hear it when we test drove it but a couple of miles in after I got it home that noise started. I took it back and Chevy said it was normal sounds.🤬🤷🏽♂️
crazy thing is 30,100 miles on my 19 serria the rear diff was leaking fluid and they chanegd the seal twice and i also had this clunking noise they said it was normal after the 4th seal blew at 30,100 miles we had to fight with gm and they got the whole rear axle swapped and the clunking sound went away so id check to see if its your rear axle or the leaf springs. they said out rear axle was defective.
That is what i am gonna do, just have to wait till things get back to normal since there are none to be had right now with the virus causing inventory shortages. May wait for the new 2022 Tundra.

@Omar G. I have a video of where I put it. I can't remember where or at what point in the video I show it. If not, i will make another video.

I got a 99 and it clunks going about 6 mph and it kinda moves the truck side to side any thoughts? Took it to mech and they couldnt find the problem.
My 2018 Colorado does the EXACT same thing only it started after I used spray silicone to lube my leaf spring bushings
I lube the spring on the spare tire and it went away
Hello did you ever find the problem and the solution?
It's your leaf springs
Did you get this problem fixed? I’m having the same issue with my 2018 GMC Sierra
Me too

Same, 2019 LD. I have a 2019 LD for work that doesn’t do it, and my personal 2019 LD does it and it’s annoying AF
Did you ever figure out the issue ? I have a 2018 GMC sierra with the same noise
Um, so any Solutions on this Paul? It’s happening on a Brand new 20 rst model
I just commented on here with the fix
Start with spraying some WD-40 on the leaf springs. On my GMC it slowed it down. Then I put grease between the leaf springs and it stopped.
They have the rear end to tight maybe loosen it lube or t really good then check the blinker fluid ;)
Nothing has stopped mine on 2023 trail boo Z71
Still got the noise ? I have Silverado 2024 and I don't know what it is

Most likely leaf spring bushing
