    Pickett is definitely a “whatever it takes to win” kind of guy. I’m a Bengals fan, but I do like seeing this guy play. People think the AFC North is just going to be Burrow’s and Jackson’s playground for the next few years, but Pickett shouldn’t be slept on.

    • @Standgedicht
      @Standgedicht Год назад +1

      Burrow okay, I really like him. He has the same attitude as Kenny. One notices immediately that there are winners.
      What I don't really understand is the hype surrounding Lamar Jackson. To me, he's an injury-prone running back who still can't throw properly and runs way too fast himself.
      And what has he got to show so far? One playoff win and not a season in which he has played through. I can certainly feel respect for the opponent, but I will never understand the hype about Jackson.
      Look at Cam Newton, that's the Lamar of the future. Only that Newton has already been in the Superbowl, I doubt that with Jackson.

    • @MyNameIsJ3ffrey
      @MyNameIsJ3ffrey Год назад

      @@Standgedicht
      Lamar is kind of an inconsistent thrower. That’s the curse of being an overly-athletic QB. You learn to rely on your legs more than your arm in pressure situations…. Which unfortunately has the drawback of making you more injury-prone. It’s exceedingly rare to have a QB like Mahomes, who has manage to strike a solid balance.
      That being said, Lamar Jackson is objectively the most athletic out of the AFC North QBs. He can do some incredible things with his arm….but again, there’s the issue with consistency.
      KP8 and JB9 both kind of give me Drew Brees vibes. Hard to compare the 2 to past or current QBs. They both will continue to develop their game and play style.

    It’s crazy to think that this was the rookie season for both Pickett and Pickens. Can’t wait to see them level up this season.

  • @BasicBobby
    @BasicBobby Год назад +2

    You look at Pickett, and you see how QB is such a cerebral position, that places such an emphasis on intangibles-leadership, work ethic, processing speed. He doesn’t have the arm that Wilson does, his hands are an inch smaller, it took him years of grinding until he had a team with the requisite talent to compete in college.
    He comes to Pittsburgh, a team that looks set to rebuild, and almost immediately turns them around. Lightning-fast release, throwing perfectly-timed passes. Confident, tough.
    Wilson, who lit up the opposition at BYU. Drafted at a premium slot, just can’t get it going. His mechanics are a mess, his release is slow and deliberate, his three step drops are often eight-step drops. He looks scared and confused.
    I feel bad for Zack. It’s not all his fault. Like Darnold and Geno and Sanchez, he was thrown into the fire, in a cold-weather city with the most intrusive and brutal sports press in the world. His receivers, while talented, are young and many are poor route-runners-Mims, Elijah. His line is often missing at least one critical piece, and his head coach is defense-focused, calling a relatively-predictable offensive playbook. We saw Mike White, a much more polished QB, and Joe Flacco a veteran, take brutal hits from missed blocks.
    Wilson has potential but he needs a dedicated player development effort.
    You look at the coddling situation that Hurts entered into, and you see how easy some QBs have it. Hurts, has some of the best receiver talent in the league, with freak-catch-anything AJ Brown, to go with an excellent tight end, an excellent Y receiver, and an incredible line with future hall of famers and All-Pro talents. He has multiple capable backs, who act as pressure relief valves. His coach is offense-minded, a former receiver, and excellent at engineering plays that create separation.
    So it’s not totally fair to put it all on Wilson when we’re so quick to give all of the credit to Hurts.
    That said, watching him play Pickett, a player with much more average tools who leads his team to victory, and you can see why Wilson is struggling to such a severe degree, regardless of his coach and surrounding talent.

    he's gonna be a hall of famer before he retires, he's a beast after we started having him as the starter instead of mitch trubinsky we started winning damn near every game... next season we are definitely going to the playoffs and high chance to win the superbowl. drop mitch, pick up a back up qb get a few more defensive guys and a person to replaces terelle edmunds (might've spelled it wrong) but from what i hear he left us and went to another team, with all that we should have atleast 80% chance to win the superbowl and 99.5% chance to get to playoffs as long as kenny stays the starting qb.
