I purchased a Black Elephant Ear Diamond and it is doing good, however I had to move it closer to the house because in full sun some of the leaves were burning! I was surprised because I thought they really loved the full sun but perhaps it was too many hours especially this year well we have had 90 degrees in the spring. I have kept it watered. So I will see how it will do close to the house not as many hours of full sun!
I bring them in the house in pots and put them under a grow light in winter. The big leaves died back but small babies survived, and thrived when I brought them back outside in spring. I have bigger, better grow lights for this winter so I hope some bigger leaves make it through this winter. I cut way back on water when they are wintering inside the house and watch out for mealy bugs and other annoying parasites. I’m in USDA Growing Zone 6a.
Man! Y'all live near water that is real nice! Nice garden!
Thanks. The water is nice but sometimes the geese make a mess
I absolutely love the black elephant ears! I havent gotten any yet, but hopefully, some day in the nearfuture.
They are beautiful. Ours didn't get big this year like last year. Next year more fertilizer when I see them emerge

Some elephant Ears will burn on the edges until acclimated water in the morning so they are hydrated going into the hot days
Nice garden, good arrangement

It depends on what zone you're in.
