It’s something recurrent with gay men in the business to playfully speak of their screen partners as “my wife” because there is no harm done towards their “wife” real life partners.
I saw many of the interviews these to have done together and he always had these mannerisms with his hands and feel free to touch her only gay men can afford to do with women he considers more like a sister.
It’s also true for their more intimate scenes in the series. They are both very at ease during the 2d season in bed and outside. But it looks more playful than seductive. It wouldn’t be this natural if they weren’t very good friends like a brotherly relationship.

Why are people pretending that delusions of some mentally challenged people who need help, are real. Why are we not helping them, why are we letting them believe in their delusions and accept them as truth? There will come a day when kids will learn in history class about this mass delusion, same as we learn about people believing communism is the best system and things like that. I blame internet, it happened so fast and we were no ready for it. Now its destroying many children's minds and it will take long time to correct this, but it will happen in the end. @@dominicmcfeeley4142 Actually, I'm in a friends bubble of people who all loved Game of Thrones (we did a 2 year rewatch marathon of it where we talked about every episode, one per week, five hours talking for each one), but all of us really didn't like GoT for the last seasons (some only liked the first four) and find HotD to be at least in some part better than GoT. They are also fans of the books and all younger than me, btw (and I'm 28), not having watched GoT when it started, other than me.
Btw: "woke" doesn't have to do with it the tiniest bit. HotD just doesn't have all the mistakes the last seasons had. It's like peak GoT, mostly, extremely good dialogue (and more medieval in nature of the rhetoric, giving it far better atmosphere than the modern day English talking of most of GoT), there are even more and more detailed sets and the cast and overall writing is again brilliant. The cinematography is outstanding and more experimental than in Got, which has a more classic show directing, just normally filming a scene instead of finding camera interesting perspectives that also hold meaning.
I agree with you that more characters in GoT compared to HotD are engaging, however the ones that are in HotD are just as good (Rhaenyra, Alicent, Otto, Aegon, Aemond and Daemon, partly Corlys and Rhaenys). And it has to be pointed out that the series is still rather in its beginning phase while the GoT characters grew on us for many years.
