- This is part two of my miniseries on growing up in Niagara Falls. I am 61 years old and have lived here my whole life. As in many places, things seem to deteriorate after so many years, which is really unfortunate. I hope you enjoy this video.

That was fun to watch Dee! Thank you for taking the time to share with us!❤
You are so welcome!
Thank for the memories , I had of thoughts of my childhood town .
Dee!!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this. What a wonderful little town sadly, a lot of these beautiful towns are starting to become dilapidated. It’s so sad but you have some beautiful beautiful areas.❤❤❤ thank you for sharing it! I hope to make it up there sometime soon to visit!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm glad you have such wonderful memories of your childhood to share with all your peeps! Loved both videos❤
Love this and you sharing your life. My childhood was about moving every couple of years even though I was born in upstate NY! That lace flower is in the carrot family! Carrots have similar flowers. I love nature!!
Hi, Dee! Thanks for the tour!!! Sweetly sorrowful memorial to Isabella Tennant + + +
We had a Kresges Dept store too, growing up near Poughkeepsie NY. Also had Woolworths and Newberrys. It's a shame these stores are all gone now. Oh the good old days! Miss them! You forgot to insert your ice skating photo. 😍 Oh and that was sad about the little girl who was murdered. going to look that up too.
I knew I would forget something 🙄. We had those store too on Main Street (Woolworth & Newberrys)
I love Queen Anne's Lace Have it by my driveway Put whatever color of food color in the water and it will color the flower That's what I do with it
Omg really?! I’ll try it!
Hi 👋 Dee a trip down memory lane so nice going back 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your home town and your fond memories! I had a blast , I felt like I was in the car with you! lol, when you mentioned the mean catholic nun pulling Timmy’s ear it brought back my catholic school memories. I felt like you are describing my school and the nuns there lol!!! Thanks again love your videos.😊💕
Thanks for sharing Dee. I loved it.
It's fun to go back to the old places I grew up but your right things sure do change. My Grand daughter is moving out of state. I will tell her to video her places she grew up.🥰
You stirred up some memories for me Thanks for the tour
Glad you enjoyed
That empty building across from the park looks like a good place to open a thrift shop or a place to rent out a bunch of booths for re-sellers. I would dig up some of those queen anne lace weeds and plant them at home. We have those here too. I did that with those violet weeds you pulled and they spread in my garden. People should be using that park. It's beautiful but looks so deserted. My brother and I always called our creek a crick too. 🤣 Thanks for the tour...really enjoyed it.
There are a lot of empty buildings they could be using for something !
I enjoyed that so much!! The only thing missing is like a 2nd grade dorky photo and one of you in the Brad's era❤❤
Thank you, Dee, for this tour!!! I really enjoyed this!!
You are so welcome!
When you showed the bowling alley it brought back memories we were a bowling family and my father was a great bowler and we went to lots of tournament and that was one of the alley we were at we in the early to mid 70's may have went to the church also. Thanks for the flashback of memories. Enjoyed your city! 😊
My dad was a bowler and bowled a 276. Almost got the 300! He taught me how to throw a mean hook ball
@@TheThrillofTheThrift WOW that is a great score! My father once rolled a 298 those darn 7-10 split my brother as his ring from that game. I was a lefty bowled, only beat my father once and only by 1 pin, but I whipped my brother behind by about 20 he would never bowl with me again 😄.
Beautiful ...thank you for sharing ..
My pleasure 😊
Thanks for sharing
Oh Dee absolutely loved this tour of your home town! The park is huge with so many options of things to do or just relax. Would love to visit Latinas for some good Italian food stuff, yum! I also love Queen Ann's Lace and thistles... sometimes I will put some food coloring in a vase with water and the cut flowers will absorb it and take on those colors, so pretty. Thanks for taking us along on this ride!
You are so welcome!
It must’ve been really awesome. Going up in such a beautiful area in your town and the park
Wow Dee...thanks for the tour of your childhood! Dayton has the old houses too that are boarded up.
It’s so sad 😞
Thanks for the tour! It’s a time gone by ! We all have them places good or bad mostly all the old towns gone now , Only memory now !
You got that right!
Seems like a great neighborgood! ☺
It was!
Love the tour of your life. Really enjoyed it Dee keep up the good work.
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks for the tour. Am allergic to Queen Annes Lace.
Oh no!
Thanks for showing off your town, I enjoyed it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your video. I chuckled at your ducks...they are Canadian Geese lol
Hi Dee. Really enjoyed this video. The park was so pretty. I love Queen Ann Lace. Do you know that if you put it in a?vase with water and food coloring. The lace will take on the color of the food Coloring. It is. so awesome. Thank you for your 2nd video. Such fun to listen to you reminisce. Thanks for sharing. Take care. God Bless
Thanks Dee your memories were not that different from mine…great times 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Great area -
Very interesting. Would be nice to see the current schools.
Going to visit Niagara Falls in the middle of August. Taking my cousins who have never been there.
Great!!!
❤❤❤❤😊😊
Loved the Part 2 tour Dee. Are you going to put up any more?
❤
Thanks for taking us down memory lane Dee! 😊
You are so welcome!
Yes I do remember mean nuns and the ruler I went to St. Joseph in PA
📏📏📏
Toledo is the same. So many homes gone in neighborhoods that were teeming with people.
So very sad
I think of a weed as something unwanted or growing where it's not wanted. Queen Anne's lace is too lovely for the moniker. All weeds really are just wildflowers or herbs.
Speaking of which,
Our city park used to have a little wigwam. I was caught by police once in that wigwam, doing something that probably historically happened quite often in wigwams.
My two brothers went on a road trip to Niagara, and one of them honeymooned there (& Rhode Island).
BTW, your IG link in the description is to your old account. I was looking for part 1 when I found it, clicked, saw no posts, and thought for sure I had seen you on Instagram before.
So that's the old one in description.
I didn’t see any lifeguards at the pool maybe that’s why no one‘s there maybe it’s closed??
They were there 😄
I looked up Isabella and there is a lot about her and the crime. Very sad. It was August 27, 2012.
Absolutely sickening
@@TheThrillofTheThrift Yes, it was
Dee I looked Isabella Tennant up and she was a 5 year old who was murdered by a 16 & 18 year old teens and dumped in a ally way garbage can. Hope they rot in jail.
Yes I looked it up too. I second that motion
I know what teenage things are I grew up in the 70s lol
Yes, I too love Queens Annes Lace. Not weeds, wildflowers. We have alot of vacant lots full of them. Love when they are mixed with the blue wildflowers that look like cupids dart. Your Duck Park that is in disrepair looks like Flint all over. Since GM picked up and left with their tax dollars and jobs, everything has gone downhill. We got a grant from the President to make improvements, but all they are doing is knocking down burnt out buildings and houses. Sure not what it was in the past.
I like the blue ones called Larkspur
Dee, no, tell us what teenagers did back then?😂😂 You need to go back with some shears to get the thistle & other beautiful flowers(weeds). Hyde Park is huge. Thank you so much for Part II. Isn't it a great feeling being born, raised & still living in the same town? Linda (Classic Old Soul) & I, both born, raised & still here in Tallahassee area. Very few of us around, like that, especially in Florida. High school days sound the same. 😂 Great memories, Dee. thank you 🩷🩷
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Sometimes I wish I would have moved from here but then again I would miss my family.
