Approx 20:00-and yet we have clowns out here claiming in HS with TWO WAY players they can install Saban's Cover 1, Cover 7 (a whole defensive system and then some's worth of material), Cover 5, and Cover 3. Lol. I know it's generally not good coaching etiquette to call into question a coach's team's performance, but I would seriously like to see the defenses of those who make these claims, in action, and see if they truly do execute as claimed
Cover 7 is our base package and if we close the middle of the field or bring pressure we go Cover 1 with Cover 3 being our change up to rest our players without taking them out of the game.......
@@CoachMac I was thinking more of the safety being the middle hole defender rather than a backer having to drop to it. It looked like Michigan did that a few time against Purdue and thought it looked interesting.
Hi Coach, thanks for this - completely agree with the logic. For the spot drops what technique do you teach the CBs? Also, what do you teach in terms of landmarks for the DBs to drop to?
I liked this "system wide" kind of video. It gives an overall big picture look.
Thank You

Huge props to those that can get it done but we certainly can’t. Might have tried when i was younger but not anymore

Great video as always! Any chance we could get a video on your thoughts on running cover 2 invert as a change up for single high safety defenses?
To a single side?

Deep Middle or low hole?
@@CoachMac low hole
Great video Coach. Is there something I can see that defines your in, up, and out parameters?
We use LB depth as a general guideline

We are a midpoint team vs 2 receivers with coaching point being lean towards 2 it’s a shorter throw
Great video.
Thank you
What's your invert alignment for cover 3?
5x1 Outside if you are the force player
