I recently found a Panasonic DMR-EZ485V VCR & DVD recorder combo unit at a second hand store. Some interesting things about this unit that I found is that it can output audio & video, from both the VCR & DVD recorder sides, through HDMI, record stuff on VHS tapes in SP, EP (SLP) & the rare VP mode, supports some USB drives & SD cards under 32GB, has a Mini DV port & a built-in NTSC analog & ATSC 1.0 digital TV tuner. The downside is that, possibly due to the lack of a digital-to-analog (DAC) converter chip between the TV tuner & VCR, I can't record anything off of digital TV onto VHS tapes. I used to have a cheaper Funai manufactured, Magnavox branded VHS & DVD recorder combo unit that had a ATSC 1.0 digital TV tuner built-in that I could use to record digital TV broadcasts onto VHS tapes. It could also be how everything is wired\programmed in the Panasonic unit as I've noticed that when I play a tape in it, it shuts off the a TV tuner & when I stop the tape, it takes about 5 seconds to turn on the TV tuner. It can record NTSC signals onto VHS & both NTSC & ATSC 1.0 signals to DVD &, of course, copy from VHS to DVD & DVD to VHS as long as there is no copy protection. One other downside is that it seems to take about 30-45 seconds to fully power on. Despite it's shortcomings, it's still an interesting VCR & DVD recorder combo unit.
I have this model and will be doing a video on it in the next few weeks. It does seem to have a lot of features, so I will probably break the video into more than one part, but not in a Tik Tok way where you are left hanging. Lol

Made by LG
Goldstar too. JVC, Philips, magnavox, go video, Zenith and a few other brands were owned by lg goldstar rather than Funai.
@@austinthevhsvideogamelover5265I think Memorex too, I might be wrong tho.
Uh-uh. Orion had Memorex. Also Sansui, Broksonic, some JVC, some Toshiba, one Panasonic (?), and maybe one or two other brands.
@@ayaseshinomiya6524 And also Samsung had Sony.
@@kickthebuddy24 Samsung also had some of Toshiba's VCRs from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. Then Toshiba went to Funai ...yuck
