  • Ian reviews the Lib Tech x Lost Hydra surfboard: www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/li...
The Lib tech Hydra surfboard has landed…and we're very excited indeed about this pocket-rocket.
This beaut of a board has been a smash hit since its launch by Lost, the PU version has been a best seller so we're super stoked to now have the Lib Tech version to offer as well.
Matt Biolos says - The Hydra melds more than 25 years of small wave fish and mini wave hybrids. Built around an overall low rocker paired to an almost traditional “fish” outline featuring a “locked in” snowboard influenced sidecut outline, speedy forgiving double concave chined 'Hydra-hull', a rail shortening bite increasing split diamond tail and a flat-ish deck with forgiving rails adds flexibility and allows radical surfing with wide tails.".
The bottom line is that this thing flies in grovel waves in all conditions but will also handle some power and punch, its comfortable in waves up to shoulder/head high for a decent surfer. in grovel waves it catches waves like a longboard, generates heaps of speed but also turns.
The Lib Tech construction is well suited to this board, using 31 brand-new components to the surf industry and calling on 30 years of experience constructing environmentally friendly surfboards, skateboards and snowboards, it was inevitable that Lib Tech were going to produce some remarkable surfboards using this ground breaking, environmentally friendly manufacturing process. Each of the Lib Tech surfboards is handcrafted in the USA with an unwavering focus on building THE toughest high performance surfboards in the world with a commitment to operating in an environmentally responsible manner..
Boardshop is stoked to be a key partner for Lib Tech surfboards across Europe and beyond. The staff here aim to surf pretty much every board we stock and we speak to surfers from all over the world and get their feedback on how the boards perform in all sorts of conditions and we think we're perfectly placed to talk about all aspects of Lib Tech surfboards. We're happy to consider trading in your old board against a new board, we also offer 0% finance and our legenadary RIDE OUT guarantee so if you have any questions about this we'd be delighted to answer them and advise on any potential board choices or enquiries you might have, just drop us an email to info@boardshop.co.uk or call us on 0044 (0) 1243 674250.

It looks similar to the EL Tomo Fish. Are they similar or totally different?

@Boardshop how is the board weight compared to a Firewire TimberTek? Is it better than the Pyzel Astro Pop or FW Seaside? Thanks in advance!
