That can be said for literally ANY major composer, including Hans Zimmer. I can generally recognise which composer is scoring a film after watching it once. Why, just the other day, I was able to work out that Thomas Newman scored The Shawshank Redemption even though I'd only knowingly seen one other film that he'd scored (Road to Perdition). It's not exclusive to John Williams. Likewise, Hans Zimmer is not exempt from it. It's called having a musical style.
@SchoolBoyToTheRescue That's fine, I mean if everybody agreed then the world would be a boring place. I personally love all of the work done by Hans Zimmer and Chris Nolan, and Inception is in my top 3 favorite movies. But just because I think that doesn't mean anybody else has to. Thanks for being mature and not resorting to cussing.

Because cinematography has several techniques, and his style follows some important techniques of cinematography (from a technical stand point, he's a great director. Now if you personally don't like it that's cool too. As for the plot, I personally really understood it, but only after watching it 3 times. Again, to each their own. If you personally don't like it that's cool. Personally I loved/understood it, and from a technical stand point, it's good :)
Hold on breaks come on INCEPTION has totally different concept. Shawshank Redemption is no doubt awesome movie. But Inception is way much better in my opinion.

But I mean, compared to what else is out there, at least for me, he takes the cake (same for Hans, I've been a fan for a looonngg time). As for Inception, I found it incredibly complex with a couple plot holes (as every movies), but I feel like a lot of the hate Inception gets comes from the fact it's so popular, and that's because lot of people who didn't understand it liked it for other reasons.
Steven Spielberg is as washed up as George Lucas. They have no talent anymore. Their time as reached its inevitable end. John Williams can't make anything original. He scored Star Wars and I hear hints of Indiana Jones in there. I watch Harry Potter The sorcerers Stone and I hear hints of Jurassic Park in there. They are both washed up.
