  • The 4-part Complete Reef Care simplifies your supplementing routine, saves you time & money, and ensures optimal coral growth and vivid colors with only one Calcium test per week!
    Our long-term research has revealed that in most reef systems without refugiums, the Major, Minor, Trace elements and even the Alkalinity components are used up in a relatively fixed ratio. Since Calcium is the key indicator to coral growth, the 4-part program revolves around a single weekly measurement of Calcium, which determines the dosages of all 4 parts.
    Check out MyRecipe wizard for a tailor-made plan based on your tank type and reefing goals, complete with the recommended water parameters, supplementing program, and the premium salt that is best for you: bit.ly/3PBIeCI

    “I currently have two Red Sea 4 dosing pumps for my reef aquarium. I’m running the 7 Elements and NO3:PO4-X, but I plan to switch to the new ‘4-part, 1-part dosing’ supplements, which will free up three of my dosing heads. I’ve looked into this and calculated how much I use from each bottle and how long it lasts. After breaking down the costs per 100ml, I found that the new 4-bottle program is about 25% cheaper where I live. The three main benefits for me are that it costs less, frees up three dosing heads, and allows me to replace all the bottles at the same time. Currently, I have to replace them at random intervals, as they are consumed at different rates.
    What should I run on the other three dosing pumps? I was thinking of running Reef Energy Plus on one of the dosing heads, but it requires refrigeration after opening, which is less than ideal.”

      That's great. Thanks for commenting. The other RD4 can be used for NOPOX and Energy Plus. You can hold a 7 day dose without refrigeration. Check out the Energy Plus tips and tricks for optimal use.

    Is it normal for your alkalinity to be upwards to 13 dkh when using this product? All of my other levels are in an "acceptable" range but my alkalinity seems way high. I'm setting the calibration based on a weekly Calcium test using the Red Sea Calcium Pro test kit (just fyi).

    Does this increase salinity over time? Like other dosing methods?

    • @Redseafish
      @Redseafish  5 месяцев назад +1

      The contribution to the salinity is negligible. Supplementing does not replace the need of water changes.

    • @KrayzieRyan
      @KrayzieRyan 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@Redseafish does that mean its different to the foundation ABC? As in my waterbox 20 by the end of the week my salinity has shot up from 1.026 to high 1.028.
      Dosing 1m of KH, 1ml of Cal and 0.5 mag per day

    • @Redseafish
      @Redseafish  5 месяцев назад +1

      That salinity change cannot be contributed to supplementing. Top up and calibrate your refractometer each time before testing.
      Just for reference, you got ~11K Na; ~19K Cl ppm in saltwater. You dose a few single ppm of these along with the supplements.

    My part four iron solution evaporated after one and a half week from the medium size kit. The lids on all solutions are slightly cracked to allow for ventilation as per instructions what happens now I only have solution for part 12 and three and zero volume for part four after buying a full kit.

      Check your ReefDose calibration to make sure you didn't overdose and check for spills around the bottle.

    For me it be a hard pass. RS make stunning videos of their products but for me why dont they make a simgle dose additive so people dont need to spend over a grand on good dosing pumps. I fell for the marketing hype on your salt mixes and what a mistake that was. Cost me alot of time and money to correct the problems the salt (black bucket) caused my system. But kudos to you Red Sea for pushing out a new product line as i really do appreciate it.

    • @Redseafish
      @Redseafish  2 месяца назад

      Thank you for your comment. You want a product to be both concentrated and not compromise the bio-availability of the elements to be cost effective. The Coral Pro salt is balanced and high in foundation elements, keeping your parameters at these levels will promote faster growth. Keeping them lower and doing WC with the salt can cause swings and issues. As a rule of thumb keep your water parameters at the same level as the salt you use.

      The trace elements will be taken up at a different rate that is not as easily tracked since different refugiums housing different macro Algaes will use the traces at different rates and is not as predictable as a tank without a refugium.

      @@Redseafish okay, so the issue is trace elements being consumed by the macros. But! • @Redseafish
      @Redseafish  5 месяцев назад

      It's actually not true, as the lead element taken by corals is the Ca, the KH is being taken by other processes as well, so basing trace dosing on KH can offset the balance of the trace elements.
