That was fun to watch. Dave, I'm old enough to have learned to drive with a square mesh first gear and I'm a a full on h-pattern, heel-toe tragic. I got the Simgrade pedals on your sound advice. I put a lot of work into my clutch curve after having similar issues to you at first. Dead zones at both ends and a response curve built around the "bite point" hump the pedal rolls over. Very pleased with the results.
@@davecamyt 100% satisfied. I didnt realise how much the old V3s were holding me back. A big investment for me but I don't regret a single cent that I spent on them. Thanks sincerely for the recommendation.
That was an entertaining race. I thought he had enough draft at the end to make a move on you. Great heal-toe action. I love the extra cams. Cheers from Phoenix USA
Ooooh this so nice. That reminds of the very very good old NASCAR Racing 2003 times cruising on the modded Grand Prix Legends Nordschleife😍 Man this is now 20years ago...we're getting old i think 😂
Am definitely looking forward to doing Ringmeister every week this season now that they've allowed classes instead of just individual cars. What a lovely combo to kickoff the new season!
@@davecamyt Haha, yeah. I was driving on controller so the lack of FFB makes oversteer moments pretty hairy. Hard to push on the limit but I think I'm getting there!
Dave what a drive … H pattern , the slip and catches and throttle control was awesome to watch 👍🏻 It’s about time someone offed you a real seat in a race 🤩
Il have to do this race this week, does the diffrent street stocks feel diffrent or are they just realy "reskins"? Also i notices you are on your clutch sometimes during straights and under breaking (22:45 for example), that might cost some performance?
The performance is exactly the same, the difference is just cosmetic. Yes I'm aware of my foot testing a little although it doesn't activate the clutch at all 👍
Why do you use both in the in-car and virtual mirrors? I see a lot of people doing it but don't understand why. Since they have different FOVs and are likely to confuse you depending on which one you look at in the heat of the moment.
Yeah, always looks stylish when done well. Sadly since tearing up my ankle snowboarding about 18 months ago I can no longer heel-toe. Hopefully with some more healing and work on the ankle I'll get back there.
I dont know how this would work in real life. But honestly a lot of stuff work somehow like lmp3 taking huge curbs without damage where as they say in real life you wont be able to take the same curbs without damaging th3 car..
I kept getting booted, once I finally got a decent race I blew the engine on lap 2 moneyshifting down to third after kottonbom to hold a tighter line into the hairpin. Gutted
Dave, you might as well move over here. At this point you're more American than me here in San Diego. I suggest Dallas Texas Edit: Also change your name to Dale Cameron. Edit #2: Dave, if I were Ian. After that contact I'd send you a six pack of beer. At the very least a thank you card.
Great post. I m glad to see your doing some oval..I run Nascar truck and cup....sports / Porsche 992 and formula super formula and formula 3 so far...A license in oval and C in sport and formula..
Wondering, what kind of things do you prefer to use for breaking markers? How do you find them initially? When following close I seem to struggle with locating mine 😆 you were nailing it
I blow a lot of engines it seems with some of these cars. You think it's a clutch issue? I've driven manuals in real life for decades and never had an issue. It's weird.
@@davecamyt Dave, this is on the UP shift and not in the recline! Happened again and I realize my Fanatec Sq shifter will sometimes say my 2-3 shift is going to 1st instead of 3rd.
If I ever get into sim racing i'm gonna drive Bill Elliots's Ford from 1985. The one that was running like 215 MPH at Talladega. I was a huge fan back then when I was like 15 years old. LOL
Great combo indeed, FWiW you can find all the vehicle transmissions on Iracing support post titled "Transmission/Gearbox/Shifting Types & Method" luckily for me you can left foot break, blip the throttle to downshift on the SS. I'm not sure what I'm missing on the Ring, no matter the combo I seem to be about 6-8 seconds off the sharp end running the same line and from what I can tell brake/shift points. Best I've managed at this point was ~7:58. In the lower splits it's not a problem most of the time, last night bottom split of a two splitter I went from pole to win by 34 seconds dropping the last lap to a cruise of 8:11. Also of note, you can check everyone's lap times now in the "lap chart" tab over the results.
we need more pedal cam I loved it 👏
I suggest creating a deadzone in your clutch, as you’re engaging the clutch while resting your foot on it
I was just coming to the coments to say this. He was up to 16% clutch at one random point.
"I hope his next poo's painful" I'm dying laughing.
Thats how I felt about the guy that spun me out on my first GT4 race of the season... was in the running for p3 and got dropped to p5 by dirty racing.
Gotta say, I think I've found my new insult
Hahahaha
Same here
Go Dave😎

Really pleased you like them 😁
this combo is so much fun.
Waaaay more fun than it should be 😁
the street stock is a blast on a road coarse
Put a bigger deadzone at the top of the clutch range.

Thank you, appreciate it 🙏
Closed captions says [music] and [applause] for the engine noise lol
You may have saved his race with that tap.
16:26 indeed. time stamp in case someone wants it.
Judging by the replay, no
@@HazewinDog I said may, but he was swinging back to the left and the full sideswipe might have stopped the pendulum effect.
That was fun to watch
Next week ringmeister seems to have a chance of rain if I'm not wrong... it'll be a bloodbath
I wish I could stay calm like you do, lol. I wouldn't be able to tall straight during the first lap.

Only the games are getting old. We're still going strong 😁
@@davecamytWell you gotta tell this to my body getting up in the morning 😂 Nevertheless, racing still works quite ok 😉
Beautiful heel/toe there DC. Nice job.
These cars have lots of character on track; they float, they drift and sound amazing. A challenge to drive, but look to be be very fun.
If you opening the standing black box on the opening lap you can see their qualy times
Dave out here boosting free foot pics.

Street Stocks Rule!
Nice racing
Do you reckon it said “car right” for a split second there😂
Do a real life track experience of some sort, would love to see that for the channel :)
Never been on track in a car in my life. Too old, too fat and too scared now 😁
@@davecamyt makes for a better video then 😝
Nice to see you’re doing different series. Keeping it fresh
Ian, or RacePig as we know him, actually races on controller.
I miss Jim on road tracks 😞
Is this the built in iRacing spotter with the JJ sound pack or something?
It's only as it was a Street Stock. Normal service will be resumed today 😁
I did this race and also “kept it real “ manual cars on this track are always fun.
Do you manually have to update JJ spotter pack? I don’t have quite a few sound bytes
I have never updated it, but I have the chattiness set to the maximum in iRacing. If you have too I'd see if there is an updated version 👍
What's your break pressure set at? Looks soft. Mine is firm. If I set it soft I seem to loose mid range. Oh and thanks for the pedal cam!
I would say it's a little soft until I get to the 2nd stage. I usually race in socks and find it a great compromise 😁
Maybe just weird but I’d have rather heard the shifting being made, lovely race anyways
Video on the shifter coming soon and I'll let you hear what it sounds like 👍
My next poo was rather pleasant. Sorry to disappoint!
Ian?

What music piece is car #12's paint scheme?
Which Pedalset are you using right now ? These are not the Sim Lab XP1.
These are the Simgrade VX Pro pedals 👍
Great racing it looked a right hand full that car around the nords
Street Stocks was what originally taught me the Nordschleife two seasons ago. I’ll forever love this combo!
Love the idea for more camera angles. Appreciate the effort, Dave!

This looks like such a blast, the perfect amount of slip the whole way around, like the MX5 on steroids.
It’s so amusing seeing stock cars outside of oval. They’re obviously not meant to handle like that but that’s what makes videos like these so special!
Why have different accounts?
Do you have to pay for each account?
