    Brian, when you get your 2m Carbon Z T-28, you gotta do a flight line on the drive way with this 1.4m FMS T-28, the E-Flite 1.1m and the 2m CZ T-28’sfor a size comparison, would look cool too, Russian Doll style..!!

    Brian after setting mine up and doing some Amp testing on 6s, the motor got seriously hot! (I had an Avian 130A) it pulled 180A and on a 100A Avian it pulled 160A. Mine is the updated 650kv motor too. Now I doubted 6s, I see on FMS website and in my instructions that it's recommended to use 4s. The P47 is 6s because it has the 460kv motor. That's why I think your esc pooped itself when you tried the 6s. The Amp pull is huge!! I'm going to try 5s and hope that's the sweet spot as when on 4s it pulled 70A max.

    Sweet deal here. Nice sized plane for its price. Great appearance and flight characteristics. Plus an AR620 receiver, MONEY SAVER. Especially with how you have programmed it. Lots of features for the same money. Well done Sir. This is one to have. Can’t wait to watch the unbox, build and setup. I have an Arrows 1100mm T-28 that’s a bit banged up. Looks like a great replacement here. Thank you both.

    This is a really good idea. Correct me if I’m wrong but what you did was put thrust reversing and flaps on the same channel by having these ranges: ( not exact just conveying the concept)
    Take off flaps 50
    Landing flaps 90
    Landing flaps + 10 makes reverse thrust because reverse needs 100?
    Great idea!

    My ten year old Grand Tundra from Avios came with thrust reverse through an additional lead off the ESC to any separate channel on the TX. Guess what, you just wait for the motor to stop and switch it and you are now in reverse. The new Aerostar ESCs can be switched any time and you don't have to wait for the prop to stop. I will be replacing the stock 70 amp Avian ESC in my new 2.0m T-28 with the new 100 Amp Aerostar and problem solved with no monkey buisiness.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  7 месяцев назад

      This isn't an Avian ESC...it's a Preditor (FMS's branding) - We've never had this issue with an Avian (Although I HAVE accidently turned it on while in flight a few times on Avian's - aka pilot error), but we have had it kind of a lot with the FMS offering...BUT what happened here was a pilot error, not an ESC issue, to be totally clear.

    I'm looking forward to seeing you fly the 2M this summer. The Predator often doesnt tell you its reversing, and its only on a few size ESCs. I'm pretty certain the Yak 130 I recently built only had 3 wires.
    Wow that flies slow beautifully and you didnt even have wind. You could practically reach out and catch it. 1.4m is a nicer size to store and transport, the 2 meter is huge even with the wings off.

    Just caught your video and the trouble you were having with using a 6s battery. I was having the same issue and found it was a timing issue with esc. Apparently the esc and motor are out of sync and by setting the timing to low it solved the issue. Something so simple was causing me a lot of frustration. Give it a try.

    Hi Brian, then is it fair to say the plane cannot be run on 6S as is? If FMS statement of it can be run on 5S and 6S is conditional on upgrading the ESC and changing the prop size then it is a misleading statement from my perspective. I just bought this plane and I am very sorry I could not use your link because I live in Canada and FMS has a separate website / warehouse for Canadian market (otherwise I would gladly use your link), but the only reason I ordered this plane is to run it with my 6S 2600mAh batteries, otherwise I would buy the Eflite 1.2m BNF if I wanted to fly the plane on 4S. I appreciate it if you can let me and others know what you have found out about the conditions where the "5S and 6S capable" statement stands. Regards, Hassan from Canada

    Of all of the T-28's available and on the market today (which is a ton!) in what I call "Mid Size" 1.1 up to 1.4, choosing between the $230 Arrows 1.1 PNP with no gyro buy you could add Vector for another $20, or for $100 more the $320 1.2 V4 Horizon Hobby with the 70 amp Avian ESC and SAFE, or the most expensive $390 FMS 1.4 with the leds? I think I'm gonna guess with your own money on the line you'd go with the 1.2 V4 all things considered (weak nose gear and all)? And although slightly smaller seems to be more of a ripper on 4S than the 1.4, and possibly a slightly better flyer, correct? This is of course without regard to the livery preference, just flight characteristics and performance and full house features. I don't think you ever reviewed the Arrows T-28? I know everyone has their own opinion, just curious what yours is if you can say it here without offending anyone? Thanks Brian!

    I've noticed that a lot of the newer planes are coming with an esc with signal reverse wire. My FMS 64mm Rafale has it and I setup thrust reverse on that . Also my new 80mm X-Fly T-7A also comes with a signal reverse wire. I setup thrust reverse on that but it didn't seem to he very effective. I'm sure you'll be doing the 80mm X-Fly T-7A so maybe you can experiment with it as well.

      EFlite 1.2m is more refined, but the FMS 1.4m is a GREAT plane too...just a lot more work to make it do thrust reverse, whereas the EFlite is a BNF, and it's EASY

    Hey Brian I have a question me and my wife are me to rc plane flying I just bought a spitfire and we have a fsu Corsair and so we would like your opinion wat is the best way for us to fly these planes and get better at it so we can advance to bigger planes

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Год назад

      What SIZE FMS Corsair and T-28? The size makes a big difference, as you'll figure out quickly as you advance in your own piloting skills.
      Can I suggest you start with "easier" planes, so as to help prevent a bad experience early on? It's not that these planes are REALLY HARD to fly, but more that there's a lot easier to fly, and if you start with the wrong thing, you can kinda ruin your psyche before you get good enough to handle that type of let down.

      Please don't hear what I'm suggesting as a put down, or let you get discouraged. EVERYONE has to start somewhere, and you COULD with the T-28, but I'd rather you have these planes survive for next year when you're well on your way to success, then to blow $500-1000 on planes that end up in the "spare parts" bin.
      You can do it!
