It makes sense, seeing as how terminator armor was more widespread throughout the Legions at the time. I believe Brakespur squad of Luna Wolves 10th Company used terminator armor.
Really awesome force! The paint scheme is great and I love your attention to detail about the lore! That abbadon conversion looks great, and I have to say those cataphracti shoulders/arms on tartaros terminators actually look awesome.
Very nice! I like how your conversions have mostly subtle Chaos-elements, that show a gradual development towards them becoming the Black Legion. A good example of visual storytelling. That green colour-scheme has also made the Sons of Horus my favourite of the Heresy-era Legions, partly because it makes them look more like an exaggerated real-world army. They also appear more like they could be used as a space-military in other sci-fi settings.
It'd be interesting to see Falkus Kibre, who was both a subordinate captain to Abaddon in the Justaerin and a founding member of the Black Legion. He seems to have pulled a Kharn and just refused to die.
For someone who doesn't like son's of horus, I love your 1st compagny marine even thou i belive they are a bit too big. Alors the top knot actually look great.
It's gotta be every hobbyist's dream to play a game on a table that looks as good as that with models that look as good as those. Have you considered recording a short battle report?
You managed to make even the Raid Shadow Legends ad entertaining, you're amazing! Love your shorts of minis talking to each other, hope we get more of that!
Man, your approach to this hobby is perfect. "I really like this unit, so I got it" and "This was a screw-up, but it looks cool". That's what it's all about. Love it.
I just wanted to mention that I've been wanting to kitbash my own army of Nurgle-corrupted Blood Angels from the Dornian Heresy au So far I've got some Nurgle CSMs, Chaos Terminators, Raptors, and some Cultists as my Dornian Heresy force as of late, I can't wait to play them on the tabletop sooner or later
Hey everything looks amazing, one thing though I see a lot of people do with the Cata Termies is leaving a huge gap in their pauldrons, only critic I have. Paint and everything else looks amazing though!
Mate this is an absolutely awesome army & video!!! Feel the exact same about reading rule books 😅 just started a HH Death Guard army, only 2 marines in though!
Nice army! That Land Raider design is however even older than you said, the Land Raider was one of the first 2 plastic vehicle kits for 40k (I can't remember off the top of my head if it or the original Rhino, now reimagined as the Deimos Pattern Rhino, came first), and it originally came out in 1988 or 1989.
Over the next year, we see Eric's hair gradually get longer and longer... On another note, would love to see some battle reports on the channel. Not as a shift to the core focus of the channel, but just occasionally. Would be a great way to show off your projects and also help people get familiar with new rules systems without having to just read a big old book!
Somehow I had a different Raid Shadow Legends commercial play out. The first marine says "brother, have you heard of Raid Shadow Legends?". The second turns and shoots the first point blank in the face with his bolter and says "No." End scene.
For anyone else doing sons of Horus and wanting more customisation all the sons are meant to be covered (and I mean covered) in gang symbols and markings
I love how your army looks and the paint scheme you've gone with, but I had to instantly like your video the moment you said Abaddon's name correctly! Thank the dark gods you are not one of the strange people out there that pronounce it A-bad-un (so weird).
Its not really my cup of tea. When i use transparent paints like contrast paints i prefer to do it over a solid white undercoat to maintain as much saturation as possible and then add shadows later with washes and shading if i feel like the model needs it. I haven’t personally got results i love from slapchop- the shadows end up too muddy and desaturated
love what you've done with these... I got my box when it came out and killteam has taken over from getting to it but I was going a loyalist path with them and doing good old Luna Wolves for those who painted their armour back to the original colours... Some time I'll get to it heheheh
Really nice army, Eric. Solid work, it would be a treat to see a battle report sometime, there's already some interesting 30k content being published but never enough and I think it's a direction you could do something awesome with.
Your army looks fantastic! I haven't read a rulebook for a GW product since 3rd Edition 40k. I use RUclips videos (there are some good series on how to play and battle reports) as well as trial and error. Sure we make a lot of mistakes, but that was going to happen anyway because who can remember every rule, every time? No one
Regarding the eagle: I'm not doing minis yet, but the ultimate idea: Just cut it off and reattach it turned around on the pole. The Rote Ruhrarmee (communist in Weimar's civil war) wore the "Gott mit uns" belt buckles turned around as a sign of protest. Red armists did the same with looted German belt buckles, often also cutting out the swastika below the eagle and attaching a red star or something like that. The Horus Heretics would have done something similar.
So amazing dude!!!! Warhammer 40k trumps all! The community is amazing.... Non toxic helpful and extremely knowledgeable and agreeable people... My love for 40k only grows by the day! When I see something like this.... It just brings me joy to have any part of the community!
Great looking army so far, very intimidating. I do love terminators, terminators and dreadnoughts, so many cool variants. Those Forge World transfers make your traitorous toys look fantastic.
Honestly your army looks amazing and it's making me think of.my first company for my homebrew. They're a black armored division so, maybe I'll choose red. Maybe turquoise and honor Horus himself. Who knows!

................... his arm fall off
How DID you do the Truescale Abaddon?
Those first company terminators look great. Having some models be a different color really adds to the army
It makes sense, seeing as how terminator armor was more widespread throughout the Legions at the time.
I believe Brakespur squad of Luna Wolves 10th Company used terminator armor.
Sorta y I love dark angels death wing as instead of the green armor it’s bone white and makes for some really excellent paint schemes
@@camostrike4395 In my opinion their old ICK Cenobium Terminators look even better than the current ones, the black goes hard with their hoods.
For this reason, I've been tempted to have my weathered corroded rubrics led by immaculate wizardly sorcerers
It's so refreshing to see a RUclipsr making mistakes as they work and not editing them out. Your army looks great Eric.
The army sprawled out with all the Necromunda terrain backdrop is just exceptional.
The desert mat i made ages ago contrasts so nicely too :)
The full Eric's Hobby Legacy
Congrats Eric, you produced the first Raid ad I didn't immediately skip.
Really awesome force! The paint scheme is great and I love your attention to detail about the lore! That abbadon conversion looks great, and I have to say those cataphracti shoulders/arms on tartaros terminators actually look awesome.
Thanks! Glad you liked it
The RAID sponsorship read is great. 😄
The paint job on Abaddon's face looks like a bit of Wayne England artwork; very cool!
Glad you liked it, i had fun making it
Very nice! I like how your conversions have mostly subtle Chaos-elements, that show a gradual development towards them becoming the Black Legion. A good example of visual storytelling.

Anna asking the real questions. 😂
I really like your customisations and consistent paint-scheme! This gives your force some real character and a unified feel.
5:29 im happy to see my old digibashed Contemptor Dreadnought 😁 paintjob looks really great!
There’s new HH terminators called the tartaror terminators I think and I think they’d look good with your army
Love Tortuga Bay's stuff, nice to see them in your army. Plus you've made the best legion choice too!
I see you are a man of immaculate tastes as well! Nice
This is damn good! Excellent work. I hope one day I can raise an army of Dark Angels for the Heresy
thanks for the great staff
These creators must be super busy with just the painting ! Then they have to write a scrip and edit. Its a lot a work. Thanks so much bud.
You're living the dream! That's a great army. And that's coming from a loyalist so double the compliment
Yeah they have some serious chonk to em
It's gotta be every hobbyist's dream to play a game on a table that looks as good as that with models that look as good as those.
Have you considered recording a short battle report?
You managed to make even the Raid Shadow Legends ad entertaining, you're amazing! Love your shorts of minis talking to each other, hope we get more of that!
You will, you will. (Please read that in yodas voice )
Man, your approach to this hobby is perfect. "I really like this unit, so I got it" and "This was a screw-up, but it looks cool". That's what it's all about. Love it.
What a great video man! Also, probably the best RAID read ever haha. Love it.
I just wanted to mention that I've been wanting to kitbash my own army of Nurgle-corrupted Blood Angels from the Dornian Heresy au
So far I've got some Nurgle CSMs, Chaos Terminators, Raptors, and some Cultists as my Dornian Heresy force as of late, I can't wait to play them on the tabletop sooner or later
The Abbadon conversion is particularly nice. Great video, thanks Eric!
Well done Eric ✨
I haven't even watched the video yet, but that was the first Raid: Shadow Legends advert I have ever watched!
Nicely done.
Brother those jump packs are badass! i absolutely love where you went with this army
Hilarious, a Raid Shadow Legends promo I could watch. Well done Eric! 👍
Looks awesome, can really tell that a massive amount of thought and effort went into this!
What an awesome army, and a fun video to boot! You can be really proud!
Tortuga bay are just excellen, love this army
Epic, always love to see people's armies! Excited to see more of it!
I'm hype to see more of them in the future, i mainly play HH and it's a pleasure to see your lovely army
Hey everything looks amazing, one thing though I see a lot of people do with the Cata Termies is leaving a huge gap in their pauldrons, only critic I have. Paint and everything else looks amazing though!
That matte black on the Justaerin is *amazing*.
Always a pleasure to see you upload. You always inspire me to create with miniatures.
Great looking army you’ve got going! That Land Raider Proteus is especially impressive. Looking forward to any further additions you make.
Absolutely awesome! Keep it up man, love watching your vids! :DDD
Will do 🫡
Abaddons terminators look great,so keep up the good work, and you have given me so many techniques to paint and weather space marines,so thank you
Even though its heresy your army does look great and I especially like the Justaerin. Seeing whole armies always has the most wow-effect :)
Finally some Abaddon love! He’s a really compelling villain. He reminds me of Zod from Man of Steel, just a relentless warrior of mind and might.
There's something charming about the Sons of Horus color scheme.
They really look fantastic! And a nice balanced force as well.
Mate this is an absolutely awesome army & video!!! Feel the exact same about reading rule books 😅 just started a HH Death Guard army, only 2 marines in though!
Nothing beats a good custom-made army!
This is a great looking army, thanks for showing it off for us.
The elitest of the elite elites elites the elite.
It's crazy how uncool but totally charming the models from the 90s looked
Topknots need to come back! At the very least to Warhammer!
My own headcanon is that the black legions colour scheme is Abbadons tribute to the Justerian
Looking forward to Eric’s Topknot Workshop
😂
Big Miscast vibes from the "all models a conversion" concept and I love it
Bro your videos is amaising,
I,mean, thet is a best miniature content on youtube
Thanks Dan, very kind of you to say
Over the next year, we see Eric's hair gradually get longer and longer...
On another note, would love to see some battle reports on the channel. Not as a shift to the core focus of the channel, but just occasionally. Would be a great way to show off your projects and also help people get familiar with new rules systems without having to just read a big old book!
& Anna's suspicions about the Warrior Lodges grow with it!
Somehow I had a different Raid Shadow Legends commercial play out. The first marine says "brother, have you heard of Raid Shadow Legends?". The second turns and shoots the first point blank in the face with his bolter and says "No." End scene.
Sick army Eric, these turned out amazing
just the yt static frame and the "conversion" mention rocks!
Thanks marco!
Boy got some strong sponsorship game.
So gorgeous, and such cool conversions. Also happy to see you kept the basing choice from your original SoH heresy video!
Thanks Alan! Im really happy with these guys so far
I like this Army alot. To me I like that you haven't grimdarked and grimed them to death. Good job.
Some of them haven’t been weathered fully yet, but i do a pretty subtle weathering when i do. Just enough to make them look a little more detailed
your minis are stunning and you were a joy to play against, seeing my fists at the end of the video was a very pleasant surprise (:
That was an awesome game! When you are back in town i will have my revenge
What a beautiful army
the title alone is absolutely hooking me!
Nice. I stole it from my pal Trent at Miscast 😂
Danm the contemptor dreads look great
It's beautiful! well done Eric.
I love the terminators.
I’m a simple man. I see an EHW video, i literally crush the like button with my power fist 👊🏽
Hell yeah
Your army is amazing! surely the new Warmaster Horus model will be the cherry on top
I have one in the box. I might do a video about trying to paint it to my highest level like all these fancy painters do
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop haha like you are not one of 'em, keep up the good work!
This vid made me order some of the Tortuga Bay minis for my Death Guard recon company
The army looks awesome well done. Hope you have lots of fun with them.
Been waiting for you to drop a video!! They look great Eric, can’t wait to see you smashing old world content when it releases
Great work personally I like the idea of them being loyalist !
Damn dude! Looking slick!
so stoked to see you posted!
Do you think you'll ever do a video on the Slapchop painting style? I think you might have fun trying it/ experimenting with it.
Great video! I love your Tortuga despoilers!
Really nice looking Army. Very well done.
Abaddon the Failed Breaching Master.... Endryd Haar send his regards! :D
really like your minatures style.
love what you've done with these... I got my box when it came out and killteam has taken over from getting to it but I was going a loyalist path with them and doing good old Luna Wolves for those who painted their armour back to the original colours...
Some time I'll get to it heheheh
Laughed when your wife chimed in. Top knots represent!
I just started to build my first army and chose sons of Horus and black templars... I reckon I chose well.
Really nice army, Eric. Solid work, it would be a treat to see a battle report sometime, there's already some interesting 30k content being published but never enough and I think it's a direction you could do something awesome with.

At first glance I confused the dreadnaught as Tyberos
So amazing dude!!!!

Wonderful Army
Ohhhhh....now it makes sense for the Horus heresy trailer and the space marines with that colour on there armour...I was wondering about that
Cool force lookd great .
Loved this video, great to see you enjoying your toy soldiers 😁
👌👌 When your standard has that *ironic aquila* 👌👌
😏
Love the ABBADON!
Great looking army, Eric!
Any thoughts about Imperial terrain to reflect the more optimistic Crusade era?
Honestly your army looks amazing and it's making me think of.my first company for my homebrew. They're a black armored division so, maybe I'll choose red. Maybe turquoise and honor Horus himself. Who knows!
I have long enough hair, top knots never lool cool outside of Warhammer scale xD
