Bruxelles-Midi and Brussel-Zuid are the same station. However, because of the Belgian language laws, the station will only be referred to as Brussel Zuid in Flanders and Bruxelles Midi in Wallonia. Only in Brussels will they use both names. As Bruges is in Flanders, the station there will list it in Dutch. You'll also know in what part of Belgium you are based on the announcements on the train. They'll be in Dutch when traveling through Flanders, Dutch and French when passing through Brussels, and only French when it's going through Wallonia. This is also true for signage on freeways where cities in Belgium may have different names based on the language like Antwerp/Anvers and Bergen/Mons. So if you are going anywhere cross country, make sure you know both names of a place.
This is such terrific advice. Just now seeing your comment, apologies for the delay! Yes this is great. My third time going back, I had recalled this and things were much easier to navigate. :)
hi! is the train from brussels to bruges included with your thalys ticket? or did you have to purchase those at the station? also when you got to bruges were you able to walk to the city from the train station? or take a cab? thanks for the video!!
Hi very informative video. Do you know how to get around in Brussels from Paris? Wanted to go see the manneken pi’s and maybe the atomium. Not sure if taking a cab is better from Brussel-Zulu’s/Midi.
Hi.. for sure! Du Nord station into Brussels.. you can find it on Rail Europe (the Thalys Train).. definitely after you get into Brussels you'll want a cab.. it's quite far from the station
@Luxury Trip Girl so I tried rail Europe and it wasn't finding late returns. Have you used train line? That found late returns. I did request late and it takes me to the next day
@@tiffanygirardi2341 hi there, that usually means that they are booked up. The other sites are buying the tickets themselves and then reselling them for a higher price so sometimes you’ll find something that you can’t find elsewhere because they purchased them ahead of time. :-) I like Rail Europe, because it shows the connections even between different systems all over Europe, so you don’t miss connections!
Thanks for the great info so appreciated
You’re welcome!

Do I need to reserve a seat from Paris to Brugge and from Brugge back to Paris?
Yep, definitely! I would use Rail Europe and book there :-)
Hi, great video! Can I take my big luggage with me near my seat? Do they have a luggage area in the carriage?
Yes! You can… There’s also space right above you!
