Favorite things in Japan were Toshogu shrine near Nikko and Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium - don’t miss the botanical garden near the aquarium

i just got back, from my first trip to Japan! The thing i would recommend the most, if you love nature is to go to the mountain shrines just outside the big cities. I got to visit a little bit of Mt Koya, just outside of Osaka. If you love history, and being surrounded by nature Mt Koya is a must visit!

It's always interesting seeing those interviews because even if people have similar things they want to see or experience there always small differences.☺

I plan on going next year, by myself. I’m not young, I have social anxiety and I easily get claustrophobic in crowds…🫤…but I really want to do something courageous, and I think it might change me as a person if I had the courage to do it. I have been studying Japanese for just over a year, and my standard is just ‘upper beginner.’ I’m so afraid to make mistakes and get laughed at ☹️

      日本人は寛容で忍耐強いです。優しい人が多いので日本語苦手でも大丈夫。安心して旅行を楽しんでくださいね。

I like that guy who wants to eat his way through Japan. Life goals.
I'm not sure if it's in Tokyo proper, but I've been wondering about the Institute for Nature Study, about 30 minutes from Shinjuku, by rail and then a walk. Looks like a nice place in google maps street view. Anyone ever been there?

I want to go to tattoo friendly hot springs. I want to go to a festival, especially hosted by the shrine. I want to do evening picnic in yukata and watch the fireworks. I want to go to hello kitty cafe.

to all foreign tourists shopping in Japan...don't forget the tax refund.....some shops like Uniqlo even have separate counters for tax free shopping....getting a tax refund for foreign tourists is easier in Japan compared to other countries
