I'm in sales with a Dippin' Dots franchisee in Northern CA and we keep trying to get into more schools all the time. Kids love the YODOTS (frozen yogurt Dippin' Dots for schools)! They love fundraising with us.
Previously we have held a footy walkathon as part of a footy day. The staff and kids come dressed in their favourite sporting teams colours or tops eg footy, soccer, netball, basketball... A one kilometre course is made around the school, staff and kids walk/run/jog a certain number of laps, junior school 2 laps up to senior school 5 laps. Kids obtain sponsorship and the highest fundraiser wins a voucher (donated) from a local shopping centre. Our Parent's Club also runs a hot dog and juice lunch on the day. We finish the day with multi-aged activity groups competing against each other in ball-based activities like handball, kicking footy/soccer/basketball goals, tunnel ball, etc. to win the perpetual trophy and a Zooper Dooper. It’s a fantastic day that everyone enjoys and raises good money for the school As well.
Some very cool and super easy fundraising ideas. In the US ice cream floats (mainly root beer floats) are the same as a spider. Yes to uniforms from an Aussie in the US. This has particularly been on my mind this week as I took a great-nephew (17, last year of high school) shopping for new school clothes because that is part of the US back to school culture/process. Sept 3rd is first day of 2019/20 school year for most public schools in Michigan. USD $146 (AUD $192 approx, depending on current exchange rate) for one pair of shoes, 2 tshirts and a pair of jeans.
