I live in the US and got to know and love Mary from Bake Off...I made this recipe and it was much loved by me & significant other. Smells delicious too :)
What a thrill that you were able to meet Mary through the Bake Off! I would love to know if she's as sweet as most people believe her to be? I've been watching many of her reruns and was thinking how I wish I knew about her much earlier. I think the first time I saw her was about 3 years ago on the British Bake Off and loved her immediately. She's certainly a very classy lady through and through. This is what I see. So, I watch everything I can and most likely reruns quite a few times. Thank you so much for sharing your experience meeting this lovely lady. 😊
Not every stove can accomodate a wok. A large frying pan on high heat has almost nearly as good of an effect as a wok. Not everything has to be done completely traditionally
Most Western stove ranges are not designed for woks, hence it doesn't heat up like it should and cooking can be uneven and slow. Best to use a flat pan.
@@kathringray5492 I disagree, I use a range and I also have my wok. The issue is that the range does not have enough rings. Most of those with solid wok hei either use the old charcoal stove or 4 ring gas burners.
Mary remains my favorite!!!!!

Interesting that the husband Paul feels the need to change out of his shorts to come in and eat it...
Those were probably his yard work clothes.
Maybe because he's a gentleman and not a slob.
Beautiful couple ❣️

This Nasi Goreng is quite agreeable with us, other than the chicken and lack of a wok, this is quite correct.

No, no, no, use a wok! The breath of the wok is important.
If it’s unseasoned then you can’t really tell the difference than w frying pan

Take a stab at Nasi Kampung, Mary. It's going to be a delight for your husband's taste buds.
My father did the same thing.
