Yes it changed earlier this year due to a supply issue with the previously-used primer. We will change the specific primer used, if and as needed, for supply and quality reasons. But all primer must meet our specifications.
@@gregpdx , which is roughly what? Be a wash primer with chromates? With another inhibitor....or nothing other than a good surface to adhere paint later on. Just trying to understand what you are using as a customer and NOT trying to have a discussion of pros/cons of various choices. Can you let us know?
Sorry for the slow reply here, catching up. QB kits ordered now are still 12+ month wait. We are refining our forecasting and as soon as we have more specific info for existing orders we will - of course - let customers know.
Love the videos and would be great to see more! Thank you.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate answering my question with a video 😍
what is the primer that is used
That inventory makes me hopeful. I've had a QB wing and fuse on order for the RV-14A since May 2020!
Interesting the QB kit right next to it doesn't seem to be primed, or is perhaps primed in a different color... Thoughts?
My 2006 RV-7 QB kit (72148) does not seem to have that primer (fuse or wings). Is it protected with some clear coat/primer?
Thanks VANs. I am going to order my QB fuselage and wings in the next month. I see the primer you are using changed. Am i right?
Yes, also curious about the primer used. Thank you!

@@kibrickj Being only interior surfaces, I wonder if any primed surface ever sees paint. Perhaps some builders paint visible surfaces in the cockpit?
More videos please!
Greg, I was wondering if there are any updates on the shipment of QB kits or is the 12+ wait time still the same??

@@FlyVansAircraft Thanks Greg. Appreciate it.
what's the purpose of the priming? Just to protect from elements and possible corrosion?
If parts are primed before assembly, the rivets don’t need primed?
