Great video! 1996! Brings back memories. In remember watching those Evco tugs all the time. And of course the odd smaller barges like yourself from time to time. All those Evco tugs are gone now.
@TheLarrytwo Those Evco tugs were by far the best looking out there. The Spray and Breeze are now Storm Spray and Breeze with Ledcor Marine, went from yellow to a bright blue. The Buccaneer and Crest went back to the Seaspan Commander and Prince. I wish more people would take and upload videos of there adventures at sea. Its great to see the smaller tugs and barges doing there thing.
You guys were lucky with that one, once the load starts washing off on one side over she goes. The bulk heads in the barge must have had leaks and the one compartment must have started flooding the corner. In 96 that pit was small today it is big enough to see on google earth. Sad to see all the Evco boats gone I think they all went to differnent companies. Lafarge is the only gravel company now that has their own tugs ie Cook and Jose.
@landjeager123 The Evco tugs were real beauties. well kept. I hope they are still around... whereing differant colors. We didn't move alot of gravel mostly heavy iron and such. the Ramp was good for those hard to get at places. cheers
@gangesexcavating once we put the ramp down on the beach. a 980 started the offload. gingerly...... all went ok. sorry i'm missing some answers to questions

Yep they usually turn turtle like you say... I was worried that the sand would sluff and that would be it.
@TheLarrytwo how did you safely unload that? Not like a wheeled loader could drive on board with a list like that.

right on
@gangesexcavating Yes for sure and we didn't want to make Malispina strait any shallower... hehehe
@beachfiredude hahaha... Thanks
That could have turned turtle given worse sea conditions. Ugly stuff. Out of one's control when it does capsize
