Great informative video. And thank you for zooming the camera in so we can see what your explaining better!! Alot of other fishing channels lack this simple but effective tutorial skill for the viewers.
Excellent content, learned a lot of good stuff from you. Tip: Soak your new spool of flurocarbon/mono in a bucket of clean water for about 5 days. Remove all labels from the spool and remove all glue that was under the label. Soaking will make the line perfectly strait coming off the reel and have no memory or curl while not compromising breaking strength. You will no longer have knots in the line or curling or hang ups while casting or at the reel. Critical when throwing such light baits like these worms and Crappie jigs etc. Thanks again for the helpful info in your video..
thank you so much i took my a long time just looking for a good vid about twacky riging well good luck and good fishing hopefully i might run into u in the cal delta lolz in 14 mile slu
Clean water try water melon or green pumpkin, Dirty try black/red flake or junebug. Bigger baits tend to trigger large but less strikes smaller pull more strike but often smaller fish finding the happy medium for that day and time is crucial. Over fast work it fast and not very deep you can work it faster, clear sunny days let it get to the bottom and slow twitch it.
Watched this video, bought the hooks and senkos and went out on the delta in a kayak out of Isleton. Hooked up 4 bass in an hour (2 in the boat, 2 got away right before landing). Definitely worth watching a 20 min video. Thanks Nick!
Super Tip! Only reel against slack line! Wow, I have been making the mistake of reeling senkos and worms against taught line. I've been fishing for years and I'm sure this tip alone will improve my fishing immensely. Your videos are by far the most informative I've ever seen.. I'm a big fan. Thank you!
Hey thanks 4 the informative on wacky rigging. I wanted to try wacky rigging bt wasnt sure on the correct technique, u gave me good insight on what to do whn wacky rigging. The black rubberband was a gd alternativ to the o ring. I would like to do sum dropshot fishing u hav any info on the correct dropshot rigging? Thanx again. Happy fishing
Thank you so much for the expert information that you, so, unselfishly impart to us who casually fish. The first bass I caught was 75 years ago but still can learn much from you. Until recent years, my mind was not open. I fished everything like I fished flies, wet or dry. How could a bass be attracted to a "jig and pig" or the Upperman bucktail?? Circa 1963 a salesman told me about Rapalas and gave one to me. The balsa floated high and even though it had a lip, I fished it like a bass bug. Some days, I was the only one who caught fish. I presume that a floating jerk bait , on some days, fished topwater fiinesse, will put fish in the boat when all else fails.
+John Morgan And yes... I have become a wacky rig fan. It skips nicely under the over hanging tree branches , close to the water, on Kemptville Creek below the bridge, Kemptville, ON. where no one else fishes. Typical bass is about 4#.
Hi Nick, your videos actually very informative. Just side question. Does it needs a scent for the fake bait on wacky rigging? People say need some smell on it. Thanks Nick.
Watched your video, and you made it so easy to follow and apply it. I have a tournament coming up at Lake Oroville on the 23rd and I'm excited about the possibilities. Thanks
@InformativeFisherman In that I respect you, most would feel shy if a condition causes such issues. But you fill youtube with more and more videos. Keep up the videos and may others gain confidence from your example of moving forward with a condition that might hold them back.
Hey I have a question. I have some 30# test braid on my 2500 spinning gear and I fish from the banks of lake Lanier which has a lot of rock, vegetation, and structure. Would this be okay for trick worms and senkos wacky rigged?
ya i was wondering how tough BBB money sticks are because i recently took a pack of yamasenkos for some smallmouth and every fish i hooked ripped the worm right in half.
My go to wacky setup is a 30 size Abu Garcia cardinal s with a 6 foot zebco rhino rod medium action slow action with 6 pound stren mono with a 5 inch yum dinger can't go wrong
Thank you for the video, will be trying today. I however have a shim E stick and took a blue rubber band and put the hook through the middle. However, what confuses me is somebody told me bass don't like seeing the hook.. But anyhow ty.
+InformativeFisherman hey your on my face book. Notice family. Bet the mrs. Cooks good. Love your shows. Thank you for taking time to explain as I am new to fishing learned a lot thank you
I've caught literally, a boat load of bass with a wacky rig. My preferred set up is a BPS Viper Spinning reel on a 6' 3" Abu Garcia spinning rod, with 10 lb. Yozuri Hyrbrid Ultra Soft line. I use less expensive mono as backing line. The hooks I use are 2/0 BPS Circle Hooks or 1/0 VMC weedless wacky rig hooks. I use the wacky rig tool for the O Ring. Orthodontic Rubber Bands would work as well, or surgical tubing if you can find it, in a small amounts. I use BPS Stick-O's instead of Senkos. They are less expensive and work just as well. Gander Mountain Stick Worms great, too and so do Yum Dingers. The fall weight of the Stick O's are perfect when fished weightless.
I love your videos man! Quick question though, I wanted to know if I could fish a wacky rig on a baitcaster, 7" rod medium fast action with 10lbs test with 5 senko worm, 2/0 octopus hook?
I dont mean to be rude of disrespectful but I notice you have a little tremor in your hand does that affect your fishing or do you work around it. how about when your trying to keep a subtle presentation? also keep up the videos I enjoy different tactics and techniques
just subscribed sir and you are very informative and i like that, and i like your videos cause they help me catch fish, since i am new to bass fishing.
I have not fished in 10 years. I am out of the Army now and went to Bass Pro Shop and went a little nuts. I bought an ugly stick I believe it is a 6" pole. Anyway I bought some plastic worms and 2ot weedless hooks, I really wanted to try out this wacky rig thing I have heard so much about. I must say watching your video on this has made it very informative. So I just wanted to leave a comment and say thank you very much I learned a lot in such a short time from your video. Do you have any videos on using a frog? Thank you again Troy
I like to use finish nails, their a bit lighter but you don't have to cut them The rubber band was cool man! A size 4 circle hook actually worked out pretty good for me on light tackle
Just wondering why I got a comment back from you, yet my original comment is not in your comments list of the video. You said good observation, why is my comment not shown on your comments for this video or your reply ?
Hey nick I have a quantum 6ft medium light with a moderate to fast bend and excepts lure 1/16 once to 3/8 oz I wonder if it is ok to use this tackle with 4 lb and a small roboworm
Hey man you have some great videos. Can you make one for "joe fisherman" who can't afford 20 different rod and reels. Possibly a video for a multi purpose set up that someone can keep in there car for day to day pond bass. Thanks for your time.
Michael Keating Turn your fishing rod into a "every situation" rod. 8 poundtest Mono, or use braid. As explained in the video, braid is a LOT less wider than mono, so you can get stronger line + a lot on your spool with braid. I use mono, but I think Im gonna switch to Braid sometime soon this fall. I have the Shakespeare Crusader Combo Rod, it's only 25 bucks and it's great for starting out. I still use it since it's my only rod and I've caught everything from little baby sunfish to big feisty northerns. Also a 2.5 pound bass and I had to reel him in through a thick bed of milfoil(Invasive Plant species, sucks a lot, provides good fishing opportunities though.) and I landed him, so that's something. All on 8 pound test mono and having patience with the fish. I fish a variety of lures and baits from golden hook with a live worm and bobber, to crankbaits and spoons and everything. You can catch anything if you have the patience to tire the fish out and fight it.
Your rubber band trick is simply brilliant! Thank you so much for the advice!
just got into fishing up here in south washington. you have extremely helpful videos. thanks very much keep it up
Thanks for the help. I started fishing again since I was a smalls teen. First cast on a wacky for the first time and I got a largemouth. Thanks again

great video. Everything is on point! wacky rig has always been my go to bait. But when i use finnese worms i drop shot it to get some casting distance
I've been watching a lot of bass tutorial videos lately and this is one of the best. I've subscribed for more! Thank you
I lost two bass today on a wacky rig. Watching this video taught me not to horse them in. Thanks.
Yes it will work fine
I was told if your fishing rocks or standing timber use a heavier line like 14 -16 pound test mono instead of 6-8 pound mono
would pumpkin seed be good for moderate water clear off shore dark in middle
TY great vid
@InformativeFisherman Okay thank you.
this video was really entertaining and informational good video a like and subscribed 👍
What r some good inexpensive rod n rells to use for wacky rigging.
Doesn't the braid affect the rate at which the bait sinks since braid floats?

MrZombieKik They don't really notice the smaller hook

If you weight both ends doesn't that defeat the purpose since both ends are going to fall at the same rate again?
I love your videos man! Quick question though, I wanted to know if I could fish a wacky rig on a baitcaster, 7" rod medium fast action with 10lbs test with 5 senko worm, 2/0 octopus hook?
you wont need the rubber band if you buy bigboybaits they are the best plastics super strong very strechy and hand poured
My fishing and the summer 2013
IF u are a boss!!!!
Dude your near me! I live near the delta
I dont mean to be rude of disrespectful but I notice you have a little tremor in your hand does that affect your fishing or do you work around it. how about when your trying to keep a subtle presentation? also keep up the videos I enjoy different tactics and techniques
Damn Nick I needed this years ago I would have probably caught more fish. Gonna try all of this in the morning.
Thanks
Will a 5ft light action rod be good for wacky rigging?
I love me some wacky wormin' fun
Smart man. You use a Shimano Curado.
at 2:30 did you take that hook from your guide...??? big mistake...
Nick, take me fishing please lol
Wat power did the rods have
just subscribed sir and you are very informative and i like that, and i like your videos cause they help me catch fish, since i am new to bass fishing.
Wat rods were u using
thank you that was very informative. are those the only reels you can use on a wacky rig could you use a closed reel?
I have not fished in 10 years. I am out of the Army now and went to Bass Pro Shop and went a little nuts. I bought an ugly stick I believe it is a 6" pole. do u think senko are the best way to do this with
What if the nail gets in the fish mouth?
awesome video man. I've learned a lot from you. one of my favorite channels on the topic
Use circle hooks people
this guy is the man
DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE A O-RING FOR WACKY RIG ?
No but you'll tear up more baits if not using it
Ik i had none. Been using big hooks with live bait n tiny piece of fake green worm for weight n bluegills fall fr it.
Hey nick I have a quantum 6ft medium light with a moderate to fast bend and excepts lure 1/16 once to 3/8 oz I wonder if it is ok to use this tackle with 4 lb and a small roboworm
Not all reels have drag
Check out our Wacky Rig video on our channel! Thanks
i mean watermelon seed
