This song speaks to me. I live in a post industrial city & those 1st few lines make a lot of sense. My parents are gone now too & I can really understand these haunting lyrics about lost love & loneliness.

+Gamubi Yes, Sam Outlaw is one of the few new country artists making real good country music. He's a great songwriter. On this album he had some great help from producers Ry Cooder & Joachim Cooder, which also help make it topnotch!
This is great "Americana" music, not the pop country of today...this goes back and adds a new flavor. There is lots of this type of music out there like Cody Jinks or Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson, Blackberry Smoke,...etc

my hubby and myself was able to meet him before his show here in Nashville at the basement. he came out and took shots with us then watched the opening act (Cale Tyson) with us. he also personally mailed off his new CD (before it was out in the USA, while he was in Australia) to us because my hubby posted on Facebook asking about it. he knew us from that and that was just too cool. he also talked to use during the show at points and we got to hang out afterwards. those pics i got of us will forever be an amazing memory for an amazing night

Very interesting. I could hear the influence of the Eagles in this song. It has notes of music you heard during the 70s singer songwriter scene in Los Angeles. He's performing at the iconic Troubadour in L.A. this week.
It took a while after first hearing it but man does this song grow on you! The video is the icing on the cake; it's simple, moving, and nostalgic all without trying too hard to be something it's not. Nice touch!
