It's so hard to believe that the TV show was one of the 1st stages right after she had decided to come back wrapping up her 3 years of sicknesses and the despair in which she might have to finish her career as a singer.
So hyang one of my favorites. Her closest and best friend Park Ki Young has about the same vocal range but is a tad more versatile because she can belt them with equal emotional impact and power in rock, pop, soul, jazz and classical ( opera). A few of my favorites that are worthy of reacting to: “ Spring Rain” ( her final rock raspy ending amazing!) “ wound” “ a song for you” “ goodbye too short a word” “Hit hee Park Ki Young” (one of my all time favorites) “ Nella Fantasia “ ( best version ever and I’ve watched all the world class vocalists perform this) Mask ( she was robbed. They gave it to the King. Total highway robbery). But my reason for my comment is this: When you have a few moments , I’d like for you( or your audience who is reading this) to respond to a virtually unheralded unknown female vocalist who I chanced upon about a month ago and she blew my mind to kingdom come. If you like angelic heavenly female vocalists with a high vocal range, then please keep reading. She goes by the name “ Eivor” She’s from time the small Faroe island and when she gives a performance virtually the whole island of about 600 show up. She has an angelic voice so unique , so mystical , so magical, so entrancing so hauntingly beautiful that if you ( or your subscribers) react ( no one will recommend her so I hope you will react privately ) to the following 6 performances after which you will become an avid fan and utter to yourself “ why on God’s earth is she not famous??). You’ll want to subscribe to her website where she will enthrall and mesmerize and entrance you with about 40 more songs ( a mixture of live and MV’s and she is one of the few world class vocalists who is as good or better performing live. Every one of her live performances will silence your mind and open the floodgates of your heart and soul. ). Please RUclips the following 6 live performances ( first 4 from her small island , the 5th ( “ “True Love” live from LA ) and the last in Denmark in front of thousands with full orchestra performing for the Queen Of Denmark!). Here they are Eivor “ free falling” ( the one that’s 6:47 duration.. it’s in English ) You will love her and her band. It’s on the island but inside I believe a restaurant seating capacity ( when the camera panned the audience) probably 300 lucky lucky souls to witnessed this beyond amazing performance. She put it on RUclips about 3 years ago and very few views and likes. If she performed it in America and there were 50,000 in attendance , all 50,000 would be screaming and yelling for a long time during and after the performance. The strobe lightening, camera work, her otherworldly vocal is beyond belief. At the end she hits notes that are so celestial so mystical so heavenly that you would think you died and went the heaven-especially that last sustained higher than high note! “Eivor trollabundin” ( first vid 5:44). ( from the Faroe Islands and trollabundin meaning ‘spellbound’ and all who watch this amazing. Video in her native language will be spellbound.). Wish I was there outdoors sitting with the audience. Great tribal primordial vibes. Atmospheric mesmerizing hypnotic recognizable vocal prowess. The island’s backdrop scenery of mountains and rivers are breathtakingly beautiful and I wish I could book a plane and be sitting with the islanders for the live concert. Eivor “ Wake me Up” ( 7:11 duration) in English and she kills it with celestial high notes and emotional impact. It’s about her longing to wake up from this earthy dream and reunite with love or lover that left her with this heart-wrenching longing. ( and oh boy does her voice scale the ethereal heights). This vocalist has already become one of my top 5 female vocalists.And I just discovered her less than a month ago. Excuse my excitement but whenever I discover a new amazing vocalist I can’t control my emotions. I was one of the very first to discover and highly recommend (before the masses reacted to): Morissette, Daryl Ong, Dimash, ( best pop-op vocalist in the world), Diana Ankudinova, , Park Hyoshin ( best love/love lost ballad vocalist in the world) , Park Ki Young ( one of the best female vocalists.. as good as or better than So Hyang ), Forestella ( best male vocal harmony crossover group in the world Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody they KILL!). Lara Fabian ( wrote “ adagio” “ Broken Vow”) Evior “verd min live” (4:41 duration ... pure angelic rendition. This song in her native langauge will send you to where angels tread. Finally, “Evior may it be “ ( Lord of the Rings) in front of thousands with full orchestra and the Queen of Denmark! incredible, mystical, celestial , will transport you to a higher realm). After the final note the camera pans to the upper deck where you see the Queen clapping along with thousands of others. Her vocal range is (Chest voice/Mixed voice)-F3-C#6 (head voice) I think a D5-A6. Pretty impressive. The note catching your attention is a Bb5 a very hard note to sing properly in chest voice like her. Her highest note in this song is a B5 though. She phrased it. lol
I bet the highest chest voice is 1 octave higher than that at least. I only know she is the best belter as well. She once said she doesnt know the limit herself either because she had no chance to try. Around C6 did she just perform. Ive seen A6 in her practice.

Her highest RECORDED note is an A6. She has head voice higher than Mariah, but then Mariah has the whistle notes, but I would take Sohyang over Mariah any day of the week. This also shows how, as she ages, since she is 39 now, that she is still getting better. Most of her other videos are a few years old, and still great then, but she is blowing all others away.

The only thing I'm worried about her is that she's not too healthy , since she's a cancer survivor, she's often been sick these days, and she once was so sick that she was even seriously considering retirement.
She said she considered giving up singing (according to the English sub) because of her illness after her title defending performance on the KOMS show. There have been different interpretations whether that means stop continuing on the KOMS show, or singing completely. I just wish her good health.

Academy teaches most band instruments and vocals from beginner level to professional called Music House Academy (MHA) in Incheon. Unfortunately, I believe Sohyang won't teach in her academy but other vocal coaches and professionals.

Regine is not comparable to SoHyang... she can neither resonate, support or sustain as high as SoHyang without strain much less belt into the 6th octave. Regine also can't match SoHyang's musicianship, technique, stamina, control, etc. However someone that comes to mind who can belt somewhat like SoHyang is maybe Vanessa Amorossi.
