My 2019 Corolla had a recall for the replacement of the fuel pump assembly...all done under guarantee. Probably this was the case. The car was 2018... probably a recall job.
Can a dirty fuel filter cause the cars acceleration to be bad or would that be the fuel pump? And is the fuel pump the smaller silver unit that goes inside the area with the fuel filter?

Yes, a dirty fuel filter causes the car to slow down. And even if the fuel pump pressure is low, the power of the car is reduced.

Genuine part filters do not come separately, so does the complete assembly.
