- This video showcases the PCC railroad, a WATCO company, in Eastern Washington through the Palouse Region. This is the Hooper line that runs from Hooper to Colfax Washingon.
This video features two separate days of action with two different trains:
-The Colfax Local at 00:15 between Winona and Mockonema
-The Hooper Turn at 7:04 between Winona and Hooper
If anything at least check out the action of the Hooper Turn. That is some of the better material here.
Locomotives seen in this video are a GP39-2, GP40, and GP50 all in WATCO paint.
This was one of my favorite shortline adventures so far. I enjoyed the Palouse Region so much because of how different it was from anywhere around my home.
I was also very glad to get this footage because there will be some major changes with the PCC Railroad in the not so far future including Union Pacific unit grain trains that will essentially take over the duties of the Hooper Turn Train.
I owe a lot of credit for this video to the crews of the PCC too, as they were a big reason I knew what day the Hooper Turn was going to make it's run along the line.
All footage taken from a DJI Phantom 4.

@@TheRailfanDan america is beautiful and has unique beauty, this is my feelings and observation
I spent a lot of boyhood days in that country. Brings back old memories. Nice work!
Seeing America, one train at a time. Thanks, Dan!
Great video, Dan! I like these 'backwoods' shortline. Know I've mentioned this to you before, but the ability of your drone to go places that a person on the ground can't really makes for some great opportunities. Thank you for posting your excellent videos!
Thanks a lot Lou!
Beautiful video I'm always amazed at how man was able to build in such rugged terrain my hat goes off to the people who made it happen.
Beautiful area, filming and editing Dan. Thanks for sharing
Love your videos, I ve been droning trains for three years. I also work on a short line railroad for western sugar. I live in Nebraska, but I was born in Washington state. It would so cool to meet one day.
I've been trying to find someone to shoot me some video of a tower at the Bailey yard, any chance you could do that?
Dan, what I enjoy besides seeing the trains is the areas of the Northwest I wouldn't see if it wasn't because of you! Great footage AGAIN!
Great video...Photography was excellent! Thank you!
Thank you! I'm about to put out a short segment video featuring scenes from this one. It will be updated with voice over and better editing.
Awesome job awesome views too !
Great work .
Hey Dan, you make the best railfanning videos ever.
Well thanks a lot! I upload only my very best content to RUclips.
Mesmerizing as ever, Dan, the contrast of the landscapes and train are sublime.
beautiful country out there. I can imagine what it looks like in the heart of winter
Great video.Have visited the area a long time ago.Great seeing it from above. Keep up the good work.

I really enjoyed my time out there! Nothing like my home or anything near it.
Outstanding!
Another great video,thanks B.
WOW ! What a nice view !
excellent as always. Hopefully we can have you video a speeder run this summer.
That would be great! Is there one that takes place on this line or another one you're talking about?
Very nice!! That's like railfanning your own layout, it's really interesting to see how everything fits in and relates to each other, how the ROW looks and what you might expect to see along it. As I am currently planning an HO scale shortline layout this so fascinating and inspiring to me. Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication bro ✊🏼
Fantastic shoot Dan. Cheers
Great filming and great editing!
Outstanding Drone video.

The xx Intro is my favorite tune ! well done !!

r
really cool , thanks for sharing
great video, good job !!!
The black and yellow WATCO diesels kinda remind me of the old Pittsburgh & Lake Erie geeps
Very nice my friend.
Enjoyed the vid so much that...where did the time go?
great video bro
At 12:06 it looks like it could be the start of the tehachapee loop.
What would be fun it to do a cameo of where you are standing in relation to your video shots
Have you ever had your drone attracted by any birds ?
They have swooped at it before but never actually touched it.
Wow cool !
Nice music, but would have loved to hear those engines growl and whistles blow...
Is that a fire in the back at 2:44?
I always assumed it was. Maybe field burning or something.
There’s alot of nothing but wheat out there. Terrible place to break down.
to bad the company is such a crap bag
