    Your videos are amazing! I just recently starting wearing ties and I wanted to my ties to stand out. I tied the vidalia knot and could not believe all the compliments I received. Everyone from my boss at work to the waiter at the restaurant I took my wife last night were so amazed by my tie. Thanks for the awesome videos and please keep them coming.

    Awesome. I like this knot. But I am finding many knots I like. In the Army we only have the four basic knots for formal wear. Those were the only ones I knew about. Thanks, now I can step out and not look so rigored.

      jerome smith I totally understand, I'm an Army brat so naturally I had only seen about 2-3 different knots, which all looked about the same to me. I was in shock when I found out that other things could be done with my ties! #Mindblown! lol Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

    This is a very smart looking knot and I am going to shamelessly abscond with it. Did you invent this knot? Whether you did or did not invent it, does it have a
    story behind it?

    I am starting to make a bit of a name for myself but I must say that the reason I was inspired is partly because of your wonderful work. My first inspiration was the Eldredge then the trinity then the Merovingian knot. But then I stumbled on you and Patrick Novotny and I became truly inspired. So thank you for all your contributions. Brilliant tutorials, already tried a few of your knots with tremendous feed-back. One important detail though, I think you should show( /mention) the lengths of the ties as well as the final result(in full view). Why not add the distance between chin and belt-line too. /

    I love your videos, but when start you need to show how the tie is place near your waist. Like a full shot in the beginning. I was a little confused where to position the tie at the waist. My husband has shorter torso then I. I need more visual. I had a stroke and some of your ties are hard for me but I keep doing until I get them right. Love your videos.

    • @WhoSeesThis
      @WhoSeesThis  8 лет назад

      +Lender Williams thank you for the suggestion! I am in the process of creating a new set up for filming which will make it easier for me to see exactly what is on camera, right now I can't see what shows on camera. So I position myself in front of the lense and limit my motion as much as possible so I stay in the shot.
      Thank you so much for watching! Oh, usually if you start off with the blade just beneath the belly button, you're in the safe zone.
      I hope that helps in the meantime, until I can make adjustments on my videos.
      God bless!
      Linwood

    This looks beautiful, but does the tie hang at a normal length or is it short. I want to wear it to work, but, I don't wear a suit jacket at work and I'm 6'0 tall.

    • @WhoSeesThis
      @WhoSeesThis  9 лет назад

      childofgodma Excellent question! On me, the tie is regular length, but bear in mind that I am 5'7". Usually, for taller me, I recommend that they purchase longer ties, especially if they are doing detailed knots. One of the best places to find stylish longer ties is www.thecorvancollection.com
      I hope I could help! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

  • @SimonWick13

    I like the knot, though I did the tighter version Krasney showed (For which a sturdier knot is nicer to help it hold its shape, and removes the need for the toilet paper).

    • @WhoSeesThis
      @WhoSeesThis  9 лет назад

      SimonWick13 I use the toilet paper so it can be snug, while still keeping a more airy look. I'm quite a bit more flamboyant than Alex lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • @dominikRS21
    @dominikRS21 9 лет назад +1

    My question is why not just tighten the not on the step where you used the toilet paper? Is it because it will take the "puffy" look?

    • @WhoSeesThis
      @WhoSeesThis  9 лет назад +1

      romondo sizemore You would be correct there. I have a thing for airy, effortless looking knots. To me, if I tighten too early it can change the whole look of the knot when I'm finished, or result in me doing too much adjusting to the tie when it's finished. If you find that tightening it ear;y works well for you, then by all means, Go for it! Thanks so much for watching, and for your great question!

    • @WhoSeesThis
      @WhoSeesThis  8 лет назад

      +kamden gebott it does favor the Eldredge knot, but the execution it totally different. The Eldredge is a tight, well put together and classic knot. The vidalia is much looser and more airy, giving it a more whimsical feel, that's slightly more casual.

    Hi thanks a bunch I only knew of the windsor knot and regular knot for ties. I added an extra slip to your Vidalia knot instead of slipping the last piece through the loop and tuck it in the neck, I took it and put it through the last loop and took it straight across and through both of the top loops, now it's a ( Stitched Vidalia) LMAO.

      +BIG NICKY Hmm, you may have a slight issue with length, but at your height, you may want to consider buying longer ties, especially if you wear specialty knots. They have them for rather fair prices at www.thecorvancollection.com and they also have some at thelongtiestore.com. They are nearly a foot longer than traditional ties, for taller men, or men with larger neck sizes. Or, if you are looking dapper on a budget like myself, theres always the option of wearing vests! I hope you find the links to be helpful!

    So hey, I'm a waitress. (Yes a woman that has to wear ties.) And these are great videos. So easy to follow you. My customers will be so impressed. I don't get to do much with my outfit due to strict dress code, but they don't care how I tie my tie. So long as it's tied. Also most of the girls and I are very short. So we're left with either long blades or long tails. These knots use the tails so we don't have a thousand foot long blade hanging past our waists. Thank you so much!!! Life saver!

    Where do you buy your ties? I think that makes replicating your knots important. I have looked wide and near but can't find the quality and type of ties in your videos. For example, ties with patterned side and smooth side on the thin end. Please provide a link. Thanks

    • @WhoSeesThis
      @WhoSeesThis  8 лет назад

      +'Debisi Oladipupo most of my contrast ties are from Perry Ellis, I got them on clearance. I buy ties from all kinds of places though, Ross, Burlington, and Aliexpress.com
      I give more details in this video ruclips.net/video/9LX3qBrvXcM/видео.html
      Just so you know, I don't do ties from Walmart, they don't usually hold up well and they are way too thin.

    It seems like all the special knot ties don't really look right unless you use a plain print. Prior to becoming aware of all these special knots I loaded up only on ties with special patterns because they tend to look better with basic knots. Luckily plain print ties tend to be inexpensive.

    • @WhoSeesThis
      @WhoSeesThis  8 лет назад

      +blackhammer35 in most cases a more plain tie is best, a light colored paisley usually works well too, especially if the tie is a reflective fabric. On certain knots stripes work well also. You are right though, solids are the safest and least expensive way to go.

    I watched some other videos on this knot that like to keep it a little more tighter than the knot you presented. Yours actually looks more like an onion...lol. I think depending on the suit , I like both versions! Thanks!

    • @WhoSeesThis
      @WhoSeesThis  9 лет назад

      Jason Labrador Thanks! LOL Yeah I named it the vidalia knot because to me it looks like an onion the way I tie it. Mine can be a little more flamboyant, for a more conservative session, the TP free method may work better. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Hi Linwood, I watced all your videos and they are all awesome! My question is whether they are all good in business meetings/ job interviews or just in weddings? Abu

    • @WhoSeesThis
      @WhoSeesThis  8 лет назад

      +D1Abu all of them would not be suitable for interviews, but the vidalia knot, the Saturn knot, the romance knot and the scepter knot are more conservative for interviews.
      Thanks so much and thanks for watching!

    Do you use extra long 63" length ties? I've tried this carefully and there's no way way to come even close to finishing this knot. I only have regular 57" length ties.
