Thank you for reminding myself about the Turtles, I really liked them! And I just love the interactions between you both , I can feel your love across the miles which brings happiness and makes me smile!!!
You have truly binged on the Turtles, and your inebriation shows 😄! Thank you for reminding me about the sunshine this group brought to pop music during my teenage years!
Hello you two lovebirds. That would be a great name for a 60's rock band, by the way. The Lovebirds! Anyway, these bands, like the Turtles, were at the mercy of the producers of the particular shows that they appeared on. Ed Sullivan, etc. There were many of these shows they had to make an appearance on and each one had a set designer that would come up with a cutesy theme to match the song being sung or simply a play on the bands name. The bands were like, o.k. whatever, and just went along with it. Many were silly but many were clever and almost looked like a well produced music video. The Animals "House of the Rising Sun" appearance on Ed Sullivan is a fine example.
A totally typical mid 1960's sound with that 12 string electric guitar, style of beat, and great vocals. Always loved this recording. A very upbeat happy song. People who criticize the lyrics and music as too cutesy did not live in that time and don't understand what the 1960's was about in full. . This makes you want to get up out of bed and go do something fun or positive. And go dancing. the Turtles were so good and so fun. they had a few serious songs as well. they played a President Nixon's daughter's birthday party at the White House in 1969. They were her favorite band. During the break, they went to the restroom and actally smoked some pot in the White House, I thought that was hysterical, no one knew....they are probably the only band who did that. It's a short song because those were the rules for AM radio... no songs over three minutes or you eat into their advertising time and they won't play your song..
Andrei, before the advent of the "bucket seat" in the early sixties, cars all had "bench seats" and that posture while riding in your car was not uncommon among young lovers. : )
Howard Kaylan was one of the greatest lead voices in late '60s pop music, and the Turtles accounted for millions of record sales with their hits.
"You Showed Me" is a beautiful love song ballad by the Turtles!
So mellow. Back in more carefree times.
My absolute favorite Turtles song... It makes me feel so happy.
One of my favorite songs and I still have this record!
The Turtles are always so cheerful.
That song always gives me a lift.

The Turtle's have been so overlooked and are truly one the best bands from the 60's
Another addition to the 60’s ‘bubble gum’ rock. You two ‘rock’!

Another great Turtles hit!!❤
You should lisson to " Me about you," a great record by Turtles.
You two should have been born 60 years earlier. The songs were short and sweet back in those days.
They actually had a song named "Turtle Soup"-1969
I really think the next sixties era band you should check out is Paul Revere and The Raiders.
P.F. Sloan Genius songwriter.
"Eve of destruction" "Child Of our times" others diamonds
❤🐢🎵 ☮💜🎶
Listen to Harper's Bizarre! They do a beautiful rendition of Kenny Rankin's "Cotton Candy Sandman!" I KNOW that you folks would LOVE it!!!
