When I found out that the Sunrise to Sunset 12 hour race was happening in Winter Park just a few days after Macky's National Championship single speed race, I knew I wanted to do it. But I didn't want another punishing duo 12 hour experience like Mesa Verde, I wanted to experience racing a 12 hour on a casual, just-for-fun team, like most people do. Since Macky's family was already planning to be in Winter Park to see Macky race, I invited my father-in-law Bob, and my siblings in law Kei and Bo to join me on a five person team. The results were hilarious!

I love this! Such great camaraderie and mtb racing. This weekend, 13th August would of been the 12th annual Brighton big dog 6 hour mtb race here in the UK but unfortunately the organisers decided earlier in the year not to run it anymore. It will be very much missed as it ran a very similar format to your race and was a load of fun. Thanks for sharing and keep the videos coming. Cheers from the UK!😎

Thankyou so much for sharing this great family event. It's cold and wet where I am in Perth and made my day. I totally cracked up listening to the young lady who kept saying "wee". When it started raining it felt like I was there. 2nd place was a great achchievement and finally Syd, you push yourself too much, cheers

Hey! I know that trail! In fact, I saw the signs for this race and helped clear the trail of debris from the construction guys that left a bunch of stuff across the trail. So cool to see the race!

Great race, but i did not get at all how are team standings calculated in this, as I never seen this type of a race before, can someone do a breakdown? Do they just do lowest times for each or no?
Edit: no, i now see that is is not best laps, all of them sonehow. Do not get it at all
Whichever team does the most laps wins. If there is a tie in number of laps, the team that finished their last last first wins.

Syd. Thanks again, watchin your recovery has been inspiring. Thanks for letting us experience it with you. I got my 2nd round of injections 2 weeks ago.. I'm walking "normal-ish" once again and I'm hoping to get on the bike next weekend sometime for a quick spin.

Sometimes you go out for the fun, and the BEAST kicks in. Far more common on a Team event clearly.
