It's a good feeling when you get your first cut key perfect... I've got two but I need another for mortice lock key's.... Robbie from huyton Liverpool UK 🇬🇧
That's awesome! Now you can cut keys for all of us in the community! Lol But really, it is an awesome machine Mr. Keyz! I hope you get alot of joy out of it! Keep on keeping on!
TheAvidPicker 1 thanks Drew. I've been extremely busy but I'm gonna finish up a couple of locks for you this weekend and I'll have a package out to you sometime the beginning of the week. You'll have it by the end of the week I promise. Sorry it took me so long my friend.
Bobby Keyz Thank you my friend! Do you have my email address? If so, then please email me and we can arrange something for you to get for doing this for me.
TheAvidPicker 1 I don't have your email but I do have your address. I'm truly not expecting anything for this. I just know what it's like to get started and to have some locks to make some trades with. I have so many locks to work with for now. You can still PM me your email address just so I can have it and then email you both my email and home address and in the future we can set up a trade.
These are Great little machines. I’ve been using one since I started locksmithing more than 20 years ago. I mainly use it to code cut keys with depth and spacing key sets. Never bothered to have a want to upgrade to an expensive code cutting machine as this one works just fine. I love the micrometer adjusting guide bar. Really helps dialing in those worn keys.. BTW Bobby, please be careful when reaching across the cutting wheel when brushing the keys. Made me cringe with your hand so close to the cutter.
Peter D'Ambra I love it. It does everything I need it for. I see what your saying. If I even nick that wheel it's gonna do some damage. Thank you for your concern my friend.
How I change a blade is take belt off and hold the pulley and loosen the nut you may want to have something to hold pulley with it might try to slip in your hand I think one of them floppy jar opener rubber things might work I use a rag but that's how I do it I remove the belt as a precaution cause it might turn and roll fingers under it but up to you just a few suggestions
BIG WILLY THE LOCKSMITH C.P.L. Yeah I tried that the nut is so tight I can't hold the pulley and keep it from turning. I know the nut on the brush side turns clockwise to get it off. Witch way does it turn on the blade side to get it off. you normally turn it counter clockwise
I wanna think it goes towards the motor to loosen I'll check it in the morning to be sure I'll get back to ya on it if you haven't got by then it's been about a year since I did it
I'll post a video in the morning possibly to show anyone how to do it and show how to change the guide and hope it will help I know that a few may have one of these machines if not in morning then later in the day but I will try to do it since yours probably never been off it might be a bit harder
Bobby Keyz I don't know if a standard cutting wheel or whichever wheel(s) you have will Also cut SFIC keys for locks like Best or not, since those pins are smaller. If it doesn't then please don't hesitate to hit me up if you get in a pinch and need that type cut. My I-core die for Pak-a-punch should arrive in around 2 weeks. Turns out the die isn't included with the punch and depth knobs as it's special order only. Anyhow, man, rock on! That has to be very liberating to be able to fire out keys in a flash!
The Lock Picking Lebowski I'm pretty sure it can cut any type of key no matter what the size of the pin. Except keys like for a Medeco or something like that. But thank you for the offer my friend.
Vacuum cleaner belts are a good sub for the Foley Belsaw ones.... I dont know the exact one (Kirby?), just go to the hardware store and pick out the closest.
TheKnightda8 that's funny my friend. I tried that route and couldn't find any replacements. The original belts from Foley come in pairs and there very cheap. All there parts are cheap it's a great web site.
Bobby Keyz. my 200 has a proper belsaw belt on it.... but I am missing the V key guide... shipping was $11 to ship a tiny thing... I guess with the amazon world shipping should be free.... haha
Bobby, please learn to use your LEFT hand to deburr the key after cutting it. You get your hand WAY TOO CLOSE to the cutter when you deburred the key. Been doing this for 40 years and never cut myself on a key machine cutter, on some key burrs maybe, but never on an active machine. Also please watch out for your sleeves, put a rubber band on them if you must to keep them from getting caught in things. Be sure to wear safety glasses, even when you don't feel like it. I hope you get many years of enjoyment from your machine. Be safe. Stay whole!
I recently picked up one of these on eBay. It is new "open box" I don't think it has ever been used. It doesn't have the brush wheel. I have ordered one and it's on the way. The problem I have is that I have not been able to get the nut off where the brush goes. I have tried holding it by hand while loosening the nut. That didn't work. I tried using a wrench on the nut next to the blade, but that only loosened the blade side. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
There is a set screw on the pulley that holds the belt. Put an Allen wrench in there, not the ball end and you should be able to hold it to get the nut off.
@@bobbykeyz1263 I will try that. I did think about that but thought that I wouldn't have leverage and might damage the screw on the pulley. I also had a thought that the nut and shaft might be a reverse thread to prevent it from coming loose while spinning. Is that a possibility? I know that old Chrysler cars have reverse thread on one side of the car for just that reason.
@@bobbykeyz1263 I did try using a vise grip on the other side of the pulley. Not the side with the set screw. I had a cloth between the vise grip and the metal. It didn't budge and it put a small scratch on the metal as is started to slide. Would a little WD-40 on the nut and screw shaft be okay? Your help is much appreciated. Thank you.
sorry couldn't see which one you had in it to well had to put on big screen setting yes that one is the one I have in it my eyes aren't the best looking at some things
This is so awesome Bobby :D. Your new key cutting machine works really great, I'm absolutely happy for you :). Funny to see such a silicone belt ;). Have much fun cutting your keys :).
Congrats my friend! Good JOB! Foley-Belsaw USED to have a great website but now they don't have a website. I think they merged with someone??? Anyone know whats going on with the Foley-Belsaw Company?
First time I've seen someone enjoy key cutting as much as i do. I get a rush of excitement every time i make a key.

Code cutting wheel, as compared to a copying wheel. Not sure if thats a problem or not - I am new to this.
