I've got a very different point of view about what's happening in today Argentina economy. The main problem is the fact that they spend more money than they make. The current government spends billions on party campaigns, doing whatever they need in order to keep their voters, trying to take control of them by giving them social programs instead of creating high quality employments. Its unsustainable, the country is going nowhere. It's been this way for years. Enough is enough, Populism has been causing a lot of socio-economic issues for decades, so the whole country is getting worse and worse till the point never seen bf. My gosh, He says "Argentina is a middle income country", and then " Argentina is recovering so well from the pandemic. For a moment I thought he was talking about Disneyland instead of Argentina.
Argentina & Pakistan are so similar in their economic crises. Both have knocked on the doors of the IMF time & again. Pakistan is currently getting its 13th bailout just in the last 40 years. Overall, it's the 20th something IMF program Pakistan is having. Absolutely heartbreaking.
It's time for Argentina to reduce reckness spending on unnecessary public sector jobs (ñoquis), destroy labor union's grip on labor markets, rein excess money supply growth by its central bank, and remove unnecessary wealth and export taxes. Only by enacting these necessary reforms can Argentina achieve a sustainable economic growth and development path.
These are the views of Mauricio Macri, the former president who went back to the IMF to get a record loan of which the Argentines did not see a single dollar invested - but for which current president Alberto Fernández must be accountable. It has to be said that the size of the loan exceeded maximum amount allowed by IMF regulation but former president Trump wanted Macri to win the 2019 election and forced the IMF’s hand. And now Argentina must be bled to death because of such dishonest maneuvers?

18:40 I wonder what kind of international viewer could be so into Argentina's economic and political events to know who La Campora are anyway. Hablen en argentino y leeeesto, ma fácil.
Really? This country has time and time again gone bankrupt due to incompetent policies, and they have the audacity to "reject the terms and renegotiatie" a debt? Do you realize how many poor countries will try to do the same thing if Argentina succeed? You have a whole continent in Africa that's in huge debt and yet they're forced to privatize or pay back on their high debts. Even Grecce is affected until this day due to unfavorable terms. This is stupid nonsense by spoiled people.
@FriedIcecreamIsAReality Humanitarian crisis? Tell that to Zambia, Lebanon, Greece, Sri Lanka and other countries that had to default on their debts with a lot of people on the brink of poverty. You think their life is any different? Grecce swallowed the bitter pill, why can't Argentina? The hypocrisy knows no limits. Again, if Argentina gets some help - then the whole world should get it as well. If a broke person borrows a billion dollars and starts crying about the terms once he's broke - who's fault is that? IMF is partly funded by the taxpayers of the world. You'd think I'd want to bail out a person like that? I mean, yes the IMF sucks. But a loan is a loan.
Argentina & the IMF is a love story older than time. They can't stop seeing each other.

Why don’t they just spend less?
This is the real debt trap.
