College is just school with more pressure and lower protection from elders and guidance.
he is speaking truth, very few, i repeat very few companies actually look at the efficiency of the code that you write. Once you pass the coding round, and if a lot of student clear it, the HR will just filter students by GPA and select top 10 or 15. Because the companies want hardworking employees, and good gpa kind of says, *i worked and grinded diligently through this course for 4 years, while performing brilliantly so i deserve a spot at your company* . Most companies want average level coders but hardworking employees.
On campus placement -
college aap logo ko placements de dete hai. Company ka ek contract rehta hai. Aapko 6 mahine k liye kaam karwayenge and salary bhi denge and . Is 6 mahine k kaam se agar wo log impress nahi hue to kick out 😅.

Guys who don't have a strong gpa , don't worry , if you have the necessary skills , it is not going to matter , I had a cgpa of 7.6 and I got the highest package in my college of 22 lakhs so just keep on working towards bettering your skills

If you are in a tier 3 college don't worry you will never see this thing. If by change you see the 6-7 lpa will be your college's highest package. So focus on your studies and develop some skill.

This is true. I took off campus placement at a product based company. I am my department topper (obviously 9 pointer) but mostly the companies would remove the entire department from shortlist. I felt off campus was smoother than on campus. Again a personal opinion.

Real Fact - Most of the engineering colleges on campus a big MNCs never visit , only like sales job role or some very bad job profile which is not suitable as per engineering qualifications or skills not matched in my college time , now also it usually happens like that only.

All the things he said in the video are 100% true. I am final year student in tier 3 college with only 7 cgpa and I am personally experiencing them in the campus placement. I possess above average coding skills from my peers but still it doesn't matter as I am not shortlisted for the company. All I have now is regrets for not improving my GPA.

cuz the rule in video only applies to tier 1s. its easy to become topper in t3 colleges, so they don't take that seriously. 8+ in t1 means person is a hard worker. a topper in iit or bits will directly get an internship in microsoft, apple, nutanix etc and easy ppo. placement is a small thing for them.

Another point, In my college eligliblity criteria also have 10th and 12th marks.
During my 10th I scored less than 70% due to that no matter how hard I studied in 12th or college It didn't matter at all. As I score less in 10th.
Assume around 100 companies I was eligible for only 30 and shortlisted for only 10. As in that >=60% crietiria 90+% marks and CGPA people were still there.

Guys don't worry and don't get demotivated only 0.1% tend to get high package rest everybody gets 2.5-3 lpa only.
And most of companies only ask cgpa from 6 to 6.5 only and these companies makes around 95% of them and rest don't worry about it.

What you're saying maybe true but not exactly, I am a 4th year Engineering undergrad at DTU . Just got placed at Bain & Co as an analyst. My gpa had always been low , its 7.5 now but in 2-3rd year it was in the 6-5-7 range.
I think resume shortlisting happens more than CGPA shortlisting , I didn't actually have much hard skills but had a lot of internships under my belt and had real working experience which matters more to companies .

Sadly indian engineering is horrible. Which is why people work night shifts for US MNCs and even if you do mechanical engineering you still have to work in IT outsourcing industry.
