Thanks for sticking around. Feels like it was only yesterday I got SJ. The amount I've learnt is amazing and definitely cemented my enjoyment of boating but also frustration with the east coast and lack of services and facilities. At least now I know what I'm looking for
@@DavesBoat you’ve done great from start to where you are now and you’re right once you’re past the southern end of the wash the services and facilities do get better
i already had an older raymarine and older ray marine stuff so I just kinda stuck with that, garmin would probably have been better tbh to work with my watch but the ray marine stuff works really well so all good.
Wow Dave. That a fair bit of work and I feel your pain. I did the Lowestoft to Southampton run in 12hrs but was super calm.. Just to give you a gauge of timing.. Cool trip though and I it's a must to drive down matey. Look forward to seeing you about
Yeah I figure rather than doing it in one run like that I may do wells first stop a couple of days then maybe Lowestoft then maybe Ramsgate before going round and coast hopping
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 yeah I know think I'll do the journey planning over Xmas see if I can find someone with more experience than me to double check my planned route and stops etc also gonna get those beastly engines service finished so I'm all ready to bolt for it.
Some stuff I got.myself.on advance the i70's and the ray91 few other little odds and sods but Adam is a ray marine dealer so worked out as cheap getting the bulk direct through him
Are you thinking of leaving her down for the season next year Dave, or just a flying visit? I’m in Port Solent which is one of the best down here, be great to meet up
I'd like to leave her down there for at least 2 seasons I think before I upgrade again and just get something small up here maybe a rib, I'd love an axopar but their vendors are terrible when it comes through to following through on a sale 🤣
@@DavesBoatA little Merry Fisher or Antares would do you to buzz around in and option for overnight then as well. I’ll keep my eye out for your travels and come and bother you when you get here
Just have to shop around unfortunately if I can't get exactly the part I get as close as I can and make it work or find something similar, britboatparts occasionally have some bits but no guarantee
Nice to have you back. Cracking updates and I look forward to your trip to the south coast.
Still gonna be a little sporadic until probably after Xmas but I'll definitely get back on track next year maybe take you guys boat shopping 🤣
Good to see you back Dave 👍
ta although still irregular it appears :)
Been quite a journey from watching you buy your first boat 👏👏

cooll project!
was your old AIS transceiver? I guess your new VHF is only a receiver, so to transmit AIS you would need then still another device.
Yes the old one was a full transceiver and the new one is receive only, I will.be fitting a stand alone (much cheaper) transmitter but not yet
I am definitely trying to decide whether to move to Garmin, or upgrade to Axiom at present!

welcome back long time, you spending alot of money on upgrades.
Yeah I was gonna swap her but think I'll keep her for a couple of years now

Sound like a plan forming there. It's just the break in weather gets harder the longer you spread it over.
I have sent you a mail about berthing
@@jdsfairlinetarga3790 yep seen it thanks 👍
