Why is it always beginner friendly but you all rush through the getting started part lol
So beginner friendly patterns typically mean that as long as you have a basic understanding of the individual techniques of each stitch then you will have no problem doing the pattern.
If you aren’t experienced at all with amigurumi, I recommend taking the list of stitches and terms and reviewing a guide of how to do them before starting your project.
The reason for not including them in every tutorial, is that you only need to learn them once. After that, every tutorial you watch would have 20 excess minutes of material you no longer need.
I will have a detailed 101 series coming out over the next month that will deep dive into every stitch and term that I use in my patterns.
Thank you so much! He's such an adorable little guy and you were so clear and easy to follow ❤

Thank you so much for this tutorial. The instructions were very easy to follow and your voice made it easy to listen. Sometimes I mute the voice due to high tones on other RUclipsrs.
I’m so glad to hear that! I feel you on how some are overwhelming. It’s why I don’t do background music on any videos I am talking in.

This tutorial is so easy to follow.
I teach and want to make these potatoes to put in a corner of my class where children go to decompress.
Im thinking of making little signs the potatoes could hold with quotes that inspire kids to reframe their negative thoughts.
Thank you!!!
Aww that is so cute!
My mom bought me a positive potato so now I wanna make her one

So cute. Easy to stitch. Unfortunately i already had my eyes un before you saud to do by the increases😂, but its ok. Great video. Thanks for sharing!❤❤
Meh potatoes have lots of “eyes” in odd places your potato is just historically accurate
Exactly what I was looking for!! Thank you!!!
I made about 7 of these as a gift for my show director and she loved them! ❤️🥔
I’m happy it went well for you!
I used a slightly different color yarn, and it turned out great! Such an easy pattern to follow!! I am going to give it to my teacher!! :D

I’m glad you were able to finish it! I remember my first plushies took an insane amount of time too for what they were lol
I just made this be it’s so cute
I made this for my secret santa. Once they opened it , everyone was asking for one. It's so cute, I had to make one for myself too 😂
That’s amazing! I am sure they were in awe at your crochet skills 😁
Ty! At the end I had 25 stitches instead of 26 (cuz I messed up) but it still came out so cute!
Ty!! I made one like a month ago but my brother lost it so I made it again!! 💞💞
Great tutorial-thank you!!!!
How could I attach a sign?
@@MaciReeves I would laminate it and use a brown thread and sewing needle. I left mine separate because I wanted it to be washable so when I gift them I just put a little positive card in the gift
@@MaciReeves thank you 🫶🏼
Great tutorial ❤
I’m glad it was helpful!
So cute and easy! I have a question, how do you attach the positive note?
With regular thread and a needle is how I would do it. Some people safety pin or use various glues
Very nice. Thank you. 😊
Love it!
Thank you!
A hilarious idea!
Her potato: :)
My potato: •_• but it still look cute 😊
Love this wee potato ❤ but its a bit fast for me. Do you have a pattern that I could print out? Being a beginner I find it easier to refer to something on paper. I find if I keep looking at it the pattern starts to make sense to me. I have books to learn the stitches so I'm ok with that 😊
Yes the written pattern is in the description box 🥰
Also, if you ever have a video that’s too fast, RUclips has built in settings on the video you can slow down that way some.
Apologies for the late reply. Sometimes RUclips is funky and doesn’t always alert.
I follow the transcript and write it down
great video. how could i attach a little sign with the arms ? ive seen a pictures with the potato holding a sign
Once you have the printed sign, you could sew it on with a similar colored thread and needle, through the ends of the arms.
Hi! Love the video but iI am stuck on 1:11 what strings does she get? I noticed she only had two in her hand and left one to the side, I can't figure out which one it was🤦♀
Hey! So during that part I was working on creating the magic ring to start the project. I don’t personally have a tutorial on the magic ring, but there are a lot of really good ones out there and it can be done so many ways. You also can just substitute that part for a slip knot if that is how you are used to starting your projects 😄
Hope this helps!
Thank you! 😊
No problem! Thank you for being here!
I love this sooo much! I have made 3. Your videos are so easy to follow. Thank you!!
Any thoughts on making a video of candy corn? I am still learning and I struggle reading patterns.
I am definitely considering making some Halloween patterns! If I do, I will definitely share them!
Thank you
I am following a printed copy as a beginner and need to know why X6 is repetitive please?
Im not sure I understand your question. Are you asking why I wrote it on each line?
How big was he in the final product? Asking for a friend❤
I think 3-4 inches is a good estimate. Currently moving or I would go measure one for you 😁
How long do you think it will take for someone who never did crochet? Thank for the video 😁
That is a very hard question to answer. It really depends on your ability to learn the stitches and techniques. I suggest a lighter color brown if this is your first project so you can see your stitches easier.
I’m having a hard time finding a 4.25 mm hook but have a 4mm hook. What effect will that have on the outcome? Thanks!!
It would be perfectly fine just a little tighter and smaller. Personally I have grown in crochet skill recently and have gone as far down as a 3.25. The smaller the hook you use the less stuffing shows through, but the more skill it takes to work the stitches.
❤ thank you for the reply and Happy New Year!
do we have to weave in the end?
Yes your project will open if you do not
Thank you :))
May I sell the finished potato at a small business thing?
Of course!
@@phoenixpwcraftingThanks!!! :)))))
Can I make this with small yarn
Yes! Just make sure you size down your hook. Are you wanting to use size three yarn? If so I would try a 2.75 mm hook and see if stuffing still shows through or not. Just know if you use a smaller yarn and hook you will be making a baby-tato instead of the size shown in the video ❤️
Do you have a video of how to do the magic circle?
I don’t! I am going to do a series of the basics soon 🙂
After weaving the ends in, do I have to turn the potato back or continue working on that side?
The tail should be weaved in on the inside of the potato so it isn’t visible from the outside. If you are right handed, you will know which is the outside because you will continue being able to crochet towards the left. Hope this helps! If not, try searching for explanations on the “right and wrong side of crochet” and you should be able to find more examples of figuring out the inside and outside of amigurumi.
Just today I heard of this positive potato..what’s the story behind it? Just curious..
A lot of people make them as random acts of crochet kindness or as gifts.
Cool..I do something like that..pocket hugs and worry worms etc. where do you find the tags??
I made my own tags on Google docs. I just made a table and then typed in what I wanted my label to say.
❤
How much yarn did it roughly take for you to make these?
A very small amount. I don’t weigh my yarn, but I would imagine you could make 10+ from one skien of yarn at least
Are you yarning over?
I believe so
How long did this take you
Around 20-30 minutes!
Thanks
Can u write it down pls? Bc I want to put it on my notebook
It is in the description box
Ok thx
3 sec into the toturial.
me: what in the world is a magic loop??
had to search up how to do one XD
They are tricky 🤣 but so worth the more finished look than just doing the chain method.
Would I be able to sell items made with this pattern?
Of course!
@@phoenixpwcrafting thank you! Love the pattern. Made one last night. Super cute!
I always end up with 24 stitches after doing the arms, im so confused😭😭
Are you doing the two increases in the middle of the row?
please ytb, I just want to crochet and not watch 2 ads and then skipping accidentally 1 second of the video to face another 2 ads T_T
Im sorry friend 😮💨 I hate when that happens
Idk about other people but I couldn’t get any done because I don’t know how to make a magic ring and she did it way too fast for me.
This is a crochet pattern 🙂
If you need a tutorial on how to crochet I suggest starting with hooked by robins tutorials
@@phoenixpwcrafting I know how to crochet I just don’t know how to make a magic ring🫤
If you are used to starting amigurumi with the chain 2 method you can use that instead.
@@phoenixpwcrafting thank you :)
Can you meet an emotional support pickle video 😊
Yes! It is in the works already 😁 I already have it written and it is going to be such a fast and easy tutorial! I am expecting it out on Friday ❤️
I tried it does not work
Can you be more specific on what you are struggling with because it is in fact a working pattern?
This is not beginner friendly you did not show to to make the circle
@@RobooxUserIsEl_TedArian If you don’t know how to make a magic circle, feel free to use the chain two starting method. The very first thing I put on the screen was the stitches and terms you need to know to do this pattern. There are many crocheters who have made tutorials for how to do individual stitch methods. I myself am working on a crochet 101 course.
The reason I don’t include how to do every stitch in every one of my tutorials is that it would more than double the tutorial time for everyone else.
@phoenixpwcrafting no how do I crochet the circle not the magic circle
@@RobooxUserIsEl_TedArian I am really confused as to what circle you are asking about if it is not the magic circle/ring. I’m sorry my video didn’t work out for you. Hopefully you were able to find something that did.
@phoenixpwcrafting I mean how do I make it curveing like a round shape
@@RobooxUserIsEl_TedArianit is a technique called working in the round. You work in a continuous circle instead of chaining one at the beginning of each row.
Overall it was nice but u wear going fast so I could not really do but I did try
RUclips has a feature on the settings to adjust video speed. May be helpful for any future video tutorials you attempt.
