Your midpoint reminder is awesome. The video before this you skipped and hopped into the scene then started talkjng normal immediately and it was hilarious! Keep up rhe midpoint reminders with all youre awesome and informative tree collard videos
We had tree collards years ago but prob not for at least 20 years. Unless you know someone who has them and they are willing to share a cutting with you they are kinda hard to find. In my search I stumbled upon Project Tree Collard. I purchased 3 purple tree collard cuttings from Project Tree Collard in May 2023. All three cuttings rooted really quickly, have grown substantially and we’ve harvested & eaten some already. I can’t say enough about how gorgeous they are. Delicious, too! Thank you for starting Project Tree Collard, making plants, cuttings & seeds available and for the content you put out! Awesome plants & great information you’re providing.
@@projecttreecollard they just wither up and die. Last year I took cuttings before winter and those cuttings are growing very slowly in pots. I find that I absolutely must grow them in shade here and with lots of water. Still, I've been trying for years and have never gotten a lush, thick crop. In all that time I've harvested enough for a couple meals (for one.) I look at yours with deepest envy.
This video is right on time because the winds damaged one of my tree collards quite a bit, so now because of you I know a good way to prune it. Thank you so much! (Side note: all my tree collards came from seeds I bought from you back in 2020 and they are beautiful AND SO delicious!)
Thank you for the helpful info ! I'm growing my first ever tree collards this year from seeds in Alamogordo , NM . They have survived the unusually hot summer , now hoping to survive the winter !
I imaging some will make it and others won't. Depends on how extreme the cold is this winter. Remember, you could also take cuttings as insurance if they are big enough yet.
your videos are so much fun, Sequoiah they are always very well structured and easy to follow. you are an amazing gardener and an incredibly talented educator
My container grown tree collards are doing well. We had a bit of a caterpillar episode, but other than a few eaten leaves all is well. we will see how they do in the Seattle winter.
I'm a newbie in gardening and you read my mind at just the right time because I wasn't sure whether to cut mine or not, it was getting too leggy. Thank you... thank you... thank you!
Awesome. I grow tree collards just for fun but they are useful as well. Our chickens love them too. Your videos have helped me to understand how to care for them, so thank you.
Your great, can I/we get more details like new plants when and when not to harvest. How to prep and cook and maybe the hidden nutrients of the plants. Thank you so much for your videos.
my purple and merritt are doing really well. i lost my giant green and white to harlequin bugs. the purple were hardly bothered by them. didn't have any of the bugs this year, may have to start the other two again. my ducks LOVE the tree collards.
Timely video! One of my three plants, all grown from your seed, is sooooo thiiiiic! Squat and bushy, many stems. I think it might be time to think about propagation. Another one is, apparently, a favorite of the dogs, and they keep heading it, lol.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time. I always enjoy your videos. What type of Maize was in your garden? I only ask because I grow a lot of Original (Indigenous) Maize, Iroquois White, Blue, Red etc.
This is my first year growing tree collards and I'm excited with how nicely they are doing.
wonderful to hear:)

lol! dogs do LOVE tree collards:)
@@projecttreecollard the other dog loves kallettes and Brussels sprouts, right off the stalk. And... the stalk, too 😂

Thank you for the tips. Where did you get yours? Was it from seeds?
I sell them from my plants at www.projecttreecollard.org
Great video, I got a lot out of it. Tell us what to do with tree collards that have self seeded. Thanks.
if there's room for them, I let them grow until I can see what they are like. A lot of times I pull them because there's no room
I ordered some last year. They died. I need to try again
sorry!
