Found this channel by accident after going down a rabbit hole, even though I watch every aspect of fight channels. RUclips algorithm at it's finest. It's a travesty of justice that channels as good as this aren't monetized.
Listening to Jack Sharkey's fight history makes me extra patriotic, even if hearing people try pronounce Juozas Žukauskas is as miffing as it is amusing.
4:48 Did boxers from the earlier generation hook off the jab well, or did this only become more common as the sport evolved? Also, what do you think of Rocky Marciano's ko of Harry Kid Matthews, which began with a left jab and then went into a double-left hook? Would you say that was better than, worse than or similar to the skills of Sharkey and Louis?
Helpful and very insightful analysis which any boxing admirer will appreciate. Sharkey was a real brute though instinctively skilled and adaptable I agree. One of the greats of that time for sure!
He had a knack for beating great light heavyweights, it would seem. Delaney in one round, and after getting well outboxed, managed to kayo Tommy Loughran, although Loughran got him back in a later return.
Whoops, my "Cheeky Nodder" text got moved, it was due at 4:15.
This is one of the best fight channels I've ever seen! How did you get so much knowledge?????

Thank you for posting videos. This is the only technique breakdown channel that I've come across and stayed.
"From the neck down." What a terrible insult, but true.
Always a pleasure to hear your analysis, whatever fight it may be. You are definitely my gold standard for breakdowns.

Great video! Keep 'em coming Jack.
Picture at 1:13: That's Sharkey with Max Schmeling, not Dempsey I think. ;)

Jack Sharkey record at first glance does not look impressive .37 w 13L .Although 8w and 5L againest hall of famers .Which is impressive .
It's ind of funny than Sharkey was of Lithuanian descent. He looks as Irish as he sounds.
