We spent two nights in a Poly bungalow this past summer. We did Trader Sam's for the first time and ate dinner at Ohana. For Father's Day and to cap off our "quintessential" Poly trip, I picked up that awesome poly lamp. It sits on our piano in the living room so I can get to see it every day.

In 2019, I took my kids to Walt Disney World for spring break, my Dad had recently passed away within the last year, and he loved WDW, being able to take my kids like my parents took us, was so important to me, to make those memories that are so precious to me. I took my two boys (14 and 7 at that time and my daughter 12). My oldest son also brought one of his friends with him. So it was just me with 2 kids and 2 teenagers, and ooo weee did they argue? Phew, it was one of those trips that will make you say, never again! On the last night of our trip we were at The Magic Kingdom on Main Street waiting for the fireworks (Wishes I believe it was at the time). My oldest son was with his friend shopping on Main Street, a little bit later, Peyton, my son, came up to me and handed me a reusable Magic Kingdom bag, I opened it, and with HIS spending money he had bought me the bronze like replica statue of Walt and Mickey that is in the hub, in front of Cinderella Castle. Standing there, on Main Street, I burst into tears and cried right in front of the Emporium. It was one of the sweetest memories and moments with my son at Walt Disney World. P.S. I just closed yesterday on my first contract from DVC Resale!! 🎉
My favorite purchase was a family photo shoot with Disney Fine Art & Photography back in 2014 before all of the changes. Being in World Showcase before the park opened was so special, and we have beautiful photos to cherish forever!

It was sold out everywhere except Saratoga Springs so I hustled over there and got one of the very last ones! To this day, other members comment on it while I'm out and about in the parks or in lines. It makes me so proud to display that I'm a DVC member every time I'm at Disney!
My favorite purchase was one of the photo blocks on the walls at Epcot! It was in 2006. I went with family and my boyfriend at the time. We had been dating about 4 years then. We are married now with 2 kids and have been together 22 years now. Loved that you got your coordinates and could find your little picture. Wish they still did that so we could have one with our kids

I lost my husband to cancer the year before and while our guide was talking about Walt's passing...I cried like a baby. It is Walt Disney World and it is a place of dreams! I will remember this FOREVER!

It was our first time staying at the Disneyland Hotel 2 years ago and since I came from a low income household, I never ever imagined myself going to Disney, staying at Disney, nor splurging at Disney with my kids. When I see any of those teacups lying around I just want to cry.. tears of joy and gratitude. I want to go back in time and tell my little child self that everything was going to be okay.. that we made it. ✨

I just started collecting pins so my favorite thing is my new pin from the Grand Floridian, we just stayed there for our first DVC stay with our own points and it was the best Birthday I have ever had❤️😊

The best purchase we ever made on a dis trip was in 2014 while staying at Kidani. We needed a backpack for the parks and bought one of the promo backpacks in the small gift shop. It ended up being the best 20 dollars we ever spent. We have used that backpack every single year since then and it is called, "The Disney Backpack". It only goes to Disney and we never go on a dis trip without it.
My first time purchase of the memory maker when our family took our mother to Disney for her first time during Christmas 2021 at the age 63. Her dream finally came true. Unfortunately, we lost her in 2023 but having all those pictures of our trip that will be cherished forever ❤️.
We purchased a purple glass bowl on main street and have each year we have visited engraved in the base. And in it at home we have all of our magic bands in it so we always remember our trips to WDW

I bought a very soft Winnie the Pooh hoodie 26 years ago in Disneyland. I still have it and absolutely love it. I still get comments on how cute it is! I will always love Disney! 😊
My favorite purchase? Wow. I'm a pin collector (not trader, unless to obtain a desired pin) and during our stay in Jan at BWV, I bought a Boardwalk pin. Boardwalk has been, in my mind, the pinnacle resort stay. I only buy pins to represent my experiences, so finally being able to buy my Boardwalk pin was incredibly meaningful.
I found a framed drawing of Elliott from Pete's dragon in the disney springs art store on our honeymoon. I'm always on the lookout for things with him on it!
We bought pictures of Donald Duck ( the forgotten character) at the store. They are in our family room and we see them daily. My husband loves Donald and now our grandchildren get to see him too.
I've bought twice now with DVC Resale. It really is very easy. So is renting. I've rented my points at least 10 times making a nice profit every time. I've become so comfortable with DVC at this point we have 4 contracts for 410 points.
I don’t know if this counts, but my mom bought me some pearl Mickey earrings on Castaway Cay. She didn’t give them to me until my son was born a few months later. Every time I see or wear them, I think about my son’s birthday and that memorable trip! 🥰

My favorite was the Autographs book from my first WDW visit as a child. My parents kept it and they gave it to me last year just before I took my daughter for her first trip. It was special to see characters looking through it and hearing my daughter tell them that it was mine!
My favorite Disney purchase was from my last trip in March (2024) when I was pregnant with my first child so it was my baby moon ❤ I came to Disney world to recreate the picture my mom did when she was pregnant with me in front of the castle. I purchased the original Disney ears with his name embroidered on the back. My husband also bought a little Mickey that says “My First Mickey” and “2024” on both of the feet and that was his first plushie. Our son was born in June and we just closed on our first DVC contract last week (thanks to Derek!). We cannot wait to bring our son for years to come 💗

It had four or five pins on the front and we had been searching all week trying to find a gift for a non-Disney Dad that he would use. He loved that hat and used it for all his outdoor chores (mowing, garden, etc.). He used it for years before it just got too worn out. I'm on the lookout for a similar one if I can find one. Memories are the best!

The first is a silhouette of my oldest son when he was a about 10 months old that we had made in the Magic Kingdom during his very first trip. It looked exactly like him. My second (and probably tied with the first for sentimentality) was actually a birthday present from my Dad. My Mom had passed the previous year and my sister and I took both of our families (7 kids, spouses) and our Dad to WDW. We stayed at AKL and had a great visit. My birthday was during our trip and my Dad gave me a beautiful necklace he purchased from the Italy store in EPCOT. My parents' favorite place on this Earth was WDW and they were DVC members at BWV. I think my Mom had a hand in him picking out that necklace. It would have been a gift that she would have liked, too. I love both of those things because of the memories of WDW that I'll always have.

Takumi-Tei dinner. but I'll say refillable mugs every trip. I have some of those resort specific mugs that I wish they still did.. I like resort specific things
My favorite purchase was a little pull string music box that hung on a door knob that played ‘Its a Small World.” I got it when I was 7, I pulled a gazillion times when I got home. It mystery went missing after a month or so. I think my parents may have had something to do with that lol

Not my purchase, per se, but my parent's bought me Mickey ears in 1975 when my family drove down from New England to visit the Magic Kingdom. The beanie was yellow and the ears were pink. I was 9. I loved it and have a picture from way back then of me wearing them while we were at Kennedy Space Center. Those ears were lost over time, but in the visits since, I always go in the Mickey ears store, but so far I haven't found the yellow and pink Mickey ears. I will keep checking every single time.
After my latest trip to Disney and seeing the smile on my kids face, I have started the DVC search. I only want the Poly as I love it and I want Resale for a shorter term. My question is, let’s say I buy 150 points at the Poly but my stay would be 180 points. Would I need to buy more points? Or could I just pay cash for the difference? Thank you
You have been doing the show for 4 years? Time does fly by in no time. We will be selling our house behind Levi’s Stadium in about 4 years. We are looking to sell and buy a house in Orange County, California. My wife wants to live close to Disneyland, California. Whenever we visit Orlando, Florida. We usually book our stay between January and May. We try to avoid as much of the humidity as possible. We did experience some humidity in May. I did get tired of taking 2 to 3 showers per day. I also end up missing the hills and mountains. Whenever we visit Florida. We cannot live year round in Florida. The one thing I will always remember about the Main Street electrical light parade in Disneyland. I can remember our oldest daughter at the age of four. Dancing her way out of Disneyland as the parade was ending. My oldest daughter Lisa is a huge Disney fan! I believe that parade is a big reason why she became a Disney fan. To a 4 year old that music cannot compare to anything else. This one time I have to agree with Marissa. Derrick and Kerri are wrong this time. To a 4 year old little girl. That tune and parade is the best parade ever at Disneyland, California.
OC here. Hope you end up making the move! For your daughter: chances are pretty good that Disneyland will bring back Paint the Night in 2025 for the 70th anniversary. She'll have a whole new nighttime parade to love.
The very first response you read (about having had it a long time but no longer feeling the magic) I believe is the reason for many to sell. But, there are new members who don't have the frame of reference of the former Golden Age, and will basically consider NOW to be their personal Golden Age, and the process will simply keep repeating.
I can only feel the magic in Disneyland, California. I don’t feel that magic in Disneyworld. Don’t get me wrong. We love Disneyworld, Florida. Our favorite park is Epcot. Every time we visit. We end up missing the Matterhorn, Indiana Jones ride and the Radiator Springs racers ride. We also love the DVC Resorts in Disneyworld. I already save a lot of money with my WorldMark timeshare for Disneyland and Disneyworld. We usually trade in to a DVC resort with our timeshare for Disneyworld, Florida.
Disney as a company is a mess, and is single handily destroying what we loved about Disney. every remake every new project they do pulls their core audience away. they have become a political and virtue signalling enterprise. we just want to be entertained, so why would anyone want to be a part of this mess and hand over their money for Vacation club

My question is, let’s say I buy 150 points at the Poly but my stay would be 180 points. Would I need to buy more points? Or could I just pay cash for the difference?

You have been doing the show for 4 years? Time does fly by in no time. We will be selling our house behind Levi’s Stadium in about 4 years. We are looking to sell and buy a house in Orange County, California. My wife wants to live close to Disneyland, California. Whenever we visit Orlando, Florida. We usually book our stay between January and May. We try to avoid as much of the humidity as possible. We did experience some humidity in May. I did get tired of taking 2 to 3 showers per day. I also end up missing the hills and mountains. Whenever we visit Florida. We cannot live year round in Florida. The one thing I will always remember about the Main Street electrical light parade in Disneyland. I can remember our oldest daughter at the age of four. Dancing her way out of Disneyland as the parade was ending. My oldest daughter Lisa is a huge Disney fan! I believe that parade is a big reason why she became a Disney fan. To a 4 year old that music cannot compare to anything else. This one time I have to agree with Marissa. Derrick and Kerri are wrong this time. To a 4 year old little girl. That tune and parade is the best parade ever at Disneyland, California.
OC here. Hope you end up making the move! For your daughter: chances are pretty good that Disneyland will bring back Paint the Night in 2025 for the 70th anniversary. She'll have a whole new nighttime parade to love.
The very first response you read (about having had it a long time but no longer feeling the magic) I believe is the reason for many to sell. But, there are new members who don't have the frame of reference of the former Golden Age, and will basically consider NOW to be their personal Golden Age, and the process will simply keep repeating.
I can only feel the magic in Disneyland, California. I don’t feel that magic in Disneyworld. Don’t get me wrong. We love Disneyworld, Florida. Our favorite park is Epcot. Every time we visit. We end up missing the Matterhorn, Indiana Jones ride and the Radiator Springs racers ride. We also love the DVC Resorts in Disneyworld. I already save a lot of money with my WorldMark timeshare for Disneyland and Disneyworld. We usually trade in to a DVC resort with our timeshare for Disneyworld, Florida.
