Didn't the Guardians exert huge effort, time and resources into cracking the Thargoid language to try and make peace with them, only to succeed, but find out the Thargoid response was "Nah bruh, we good with just killing you all"?
People forget that the thargoids are a fundamentally different form of life, they don't even in the most basic sense of individuality that we do. The interceptors we fight are drones, they have little to no intelligence outside of what they were built to do. The only actual intelligent being is the queen that gives birth to them. Across the galaxy, thargoids can be found here and there. Most notably these thargoids are not hostile unless they find guardian technology aboard. I think that is enough evidence to suggest that there are multiple different queens. If Elite: The Dark Wheel (a novel that shipped with the original game) is to be believed, then this is totally true and these are called nests. We are only fighting one of the nests, one of the queens. The different nests often quarrel with eachother, and the one we fought during the first thargoid war was enslaving drones from other nests. Perhaps the reason it took so long for us to come into conflict again was some form of gratitude for removing a nuisance from the general thargoid public's space. Perhaps the reason we came into conflict again at all was because that queen survived the Mycoid, and had to recover. This explains the development of the interceptors (in the older games, it was only the scouts) and why it seemed to be developed specifically against human technology (because it was).

What if this is the thargoids trying to communicate that they finally realize we are sentient, like they are? The spiral is on their titans, it's the general shape of their ships... it is possibly iconography of themselves. In their first encounters with us they didn't attack, only investigated... unless they detected the technology of their ancient adversaries - the Guardians. They may have thought we were just 'infected' with the Guardian AI, and after getting into Seo's mind they went to our birthplace in Sol to investigate. Consider the sequence... Or since this image is a composite of all other dead titans, would be good to credit the person who put the image together, They could be putting out that the humans are what broke the Titans as each bit was it's own message, maybe it's a warning to anything else not to come here
We may be looking at the Thargoids incorrectly. The Titan is just a mothership, or a carrier ship that deploys interceptors and scouts, rather than the entire entity (including scouts and interceptors) being bioships. Either way, it's not unfeasible that like our airplanes and ships, and even our ships in universe, Titans have black boxes that transmit signals and record logs after their primary functions are lost, even in the event of destruction.
I paid a visit to a couple of the dead titans and found a completely intact but inert Orthrys at each one, no idea if it’s related but I thought it was strange
@@Captain_Flynt Interesting. Inert, but intact... This is the one interceptor that has no hearts, too. I wonder what it could mean. If it's always been there, or not.
Eradication. We are under no more obligation to the goids than they had to the guardians. Our obligation is to our own descendants. To leave the job undone is the betrayal of our own destiny.
Interesting interpretation, I had a different take. I saw the image as the Thargoids explaining to us that they require resources to reproduce like we do, and that is why they seed planets for meta-alloys. It is them explaining that they have a right to exist and grow like we do. Can't argue with that, and if it were up to me I would have Seo Jin-ae communicate territory agreement with them as soon as possible. Salvation's (and Aegis') genocidal attempts were beyond provocative, so if anything the Thargoid response has been very measured. The only good thing that resulted from them was Seo Jin-ae's ability to communicate with them. We either live in peace and order or die in war and chaos. I say this as someone with over a million Cojico damage credits.
Happened before with the virus so there's this whole conflict now. Thargoids are not thinking how humans do and they've shown that repeatedly. That said, their war waging can be interpreted in multiple ways, like them considering humanity too weak to dedicate serious forces, or them showing that their goal is not to wipe humans out. It's a mystery though and guardians weren't successful at communicating a truce with these bugs and blasted them instead.
Even if most of us stopped, I believe there will enough commanders out there who either won't or dont get the message to stand down and they keep attacking the core to kill it anyway. Some will want the rewards over a possible peace. If only we knew what will happen if we somehow managed to get everyone to stand down. That's the million credit question.
Following your expansion theory, maybe this image tells "we found your origin" or its a call out to the rest of the goids "come too the human origin place" ?!
That's an another possible interpretation. I think the "expansion" element is very different from an "origin" element so, personally, I would not have read it along the lines of the latter.
The meaning of the message, the message is not directed at us, is directed at every thargoid unit on the bubble, they are requestin their units to go to the defeated titan debris and collect as many bio capsules with humans still inside and bring them back to Titan cocijo so it can do a scape/retreat with many human samples as possible, thats why we see a considerably decrease number of thargoid units at sol still fightin back, they are bussy transportin as many human captured from the dead titan debris back to cocijo and scape, we cant let them, we need rush on defeat the titan before it scapes with those humans captive.
I can’t confirm that interdictions have stopped. I flew out of RS Hunter about an hour ago, headed straight to Sol, and got interdicted (hyperdicted?) on a jump into the system.
You know what would be wild? If with the defeat of Cocijo, we started to see titans show up all over the edges of the galaxy, way more than the 8 "scouts". I really hope this isn't the end of the Thargoid war because I've had so much fun hunting the bugs
Frontier is trying to set up an antagonist to the upcoming colonization mechanic so our new colonized systems get an interesting threat instead of throwing pirates at them
I spent the weekend fighting in AX combat zones and dealing with relentless hyperdictions and interdictions which became exasperating after a while. Will miss the AX combat zone action though...
That can be a peace proposal, that the titan would withdraw. It would be better than having a massive mess just above Earth if the Titan explodes there. I think the developpers are making a social experiment with this. And we should be carefull as real aliens might watch the experiment for real.
The discovery of the image timed with a stop of defense is more than a coincidence. Maybe we should wait a week to see what happens. We will likely get SCOs by some other means in game.
I saw 2 interpretations that I find quite interesting. The first one says this may be a representation of the thargoids applying their power structure to humans, there are 8 people at the bottom of the pyramid and 8 titans, which would mean there are 5 ships even larger than titans... The second one says that it is like plants attracting the attention of predators to get them to eat the bugs killing the plant. This could be a broadcast back home, telling the goids not in the war who we are and how powerful we are, the people infront of the galaxy spirals/stargoid could show this and that they need to send an even larger force to contain us. Glory, to mankind.
As long as the Thargoids remain hostile in Sol even after this message, I say don't let up. They've never been peaceful against humanity or the Guardians before us. There's so many ways this message can be interpreted, and I say, unless all Thargoid attacks immediately seized (And I mean ALL, Sol, Pleiades, Witch Head etc.) and they fled our systems, we shouldn't consider stopping the assault. Since the signal was coming from the dead titans, not being sent to human worlds in particular, it makes me think that this is some sort of Thargoid emergency signal, broadcasting some last message to their own forces. I don't believe it's directed at us at all.
To me it looks like its a message not to us humans but to other thargoids. It’s a revelation: “We have determined the nature of human expansion: 1 man + 1 woman creates exponential growth.” In context of the human expansion that caused this in the first place, it seems like the whole of the invasion could have been to understand our species, its nature, and how we can propagate as fast as we do. This message is the fruits of their investigation, the purpose of their expedition, to answer the question “How did humanity get here so fast?”
it's using human iconography, meant to be read by humans. they wouldn't do that if it was intended for their kind. we can't make out what the other sounds mean that they produce amongst themselves
@@psyantologist With respect to Frontier, that’s perhaps giving them a bit too much credit. They are, of course humans, and they have limitations on what they’re capable of producing. The whole reason that this was even run through a spectrograph in the first place was because that was discovered to be useful for interpreting the thargoid’s previous messages back in 2019. This uses similar iconography to those instances, which were entirely intended to represent communication between thargoids back before the second war was even a proposition.
I'm imagining AXI declaring a temporary truce to see what would happen. I think that would be awesome "emergent gameplay." Seo Jin-ae could then arrive to lead the last titan away into the black in peace.
We literally just killed 2 Hydras at Mars High. Still cyclops & basilisks spawning in. They are acting a little weird in that some of them are escaping like Orthruses...bug may be.
I was docked at Mars High when I logged in today in the XSF PG. The AXCZ messaqge was gone and I exited the station a few scouts spawned 1 at a time which were dispatched then a medusa spawned which I engaged 1 minute later I was on the rebuy screen after 2 salvos of Kamikaze swams. Hmmm I thought so respawned and same again only this time a cyclops spawned so I engaged and bish bang wallop rebuy screen again lol. I did notice the trailing wake behind the interceptors is a lot differant than usual more complex and detailed. So I think they have been buffed. I say keep bombing and get rid of the last Titan, leaving something that dangerous in your back yard would be like leaving a wolf in there after its decided it wants to stop eating everything and have a nap!
I say that, yes they've come to fight our expansion, but... Looking at the kidnapping of humans tell us maybe that we'll have some on foot combat horror esque type of thargoid. Using our kind to destroy us.
If this is true, the further colonization will face to thargoid attacks all the time, and players will have to grind to repair their settlements (or to defend them)
Regardless of how tge future unfolds, It's sort of a bummer tk see the mystery of the Thargoids being unveiled. They were like enigmatic space whales, they were so very alien, but they became generic scifi "the scary bad alien enemy" 🥺
I think in the 34th century we solved the low birthrate problem lol. Also 3310 is 34th century. Millennium would be 330,000. for comparison Eve Online is set in what would be the 23rd millennium in our calendar, but civilization fell at least once and rose again in that time.
That's some good question. Will humankind of 34th century solve reproduction problem or no? What exactly will it be? Do people of the future even need to reproduce or advanced medicine make humans literaly immortals? Today i think low birthrate is because unstable economical and political enviroment. In Elite - almost anyone can escape system in war state, or economic disaster and live decent in their space ship. I honestly began to write my vision on this but suddenly realised - i don't know lol. Economics in Elite Dangerous is weird one. For example - a gun costs less than full fledged space ship (Sidewinder costs less than Karma P-15), what averge salary in Elite for low-class citizen? anyone allowed to own and fly space ship? Etc.
@@fcsuper The lore is very clear that the Guardians were eradicated by their own AI constructs. Before that happened however they kicked the ever living shit out of the Thargoids.
I think its military comms for a call for help from their home systems and because its a desperate transmission they didn't encode it or didn't care to I don't think this is over
Honestly, this. If Cocijo saw that victory was no longer an option, coming to the negotiation table (Sol) with a hostile fleet and destruction in your wake isn't the way to do it.
Why a pyramid tho. Maybe this ties in with a bigger human conspiracy. Maybe it's 14 sleeper agents that we rescued from the titans and they have their own power structure that we'll need to attack on the next conflict.
Humanity was forged by bloodied wars and conflicts, every eras in our civilization contains wars of different scales, and human evoled from it, finding a better ways to defeat our enemy And this is what happened when humanity didn't went extincted, we wage war on the different scale, while continuing our expansion (colonies and colonized systems) if it's to stop our expansion, the thargoids came too late, humanity is already wide spread throughout this part of the galaxy(in game) and the prolonged fights gave us opportunity to invented ways to fight them So, summary, it was too late for them, even if our home world falls, and the last titan sacrifices itself to destroy it, they cannot stop humanity anymore.
The TL:DR of the Titan's message to its kin, "we are fucked". If you think about it from an outside perspective humans are absolutely _terrifying_ creatures.
Me, away from my primary machine, still at the baby level of 'barely exerted first heart on a clops before exploding' and unable ot participate in any E:D until January: 'this is fascinating'
If the Thargoids lost this war, that's sad. To me they have always been something incredible and powerful. Considering how many Thargoid forces have been lost in this war, it's not like they're not losing
If they have an understanding of human reproduction, perhaps they are playing the long game and have made small genetic modifications to the captured humans that will only come into effect after several generations.
I don't know... If they had taken inspiration from the representations of humans on the plates of the pioneer probes for their silhouettes, then I think it would have sparked a deeper reflection to delve into... perhaps more frightening... Something that takes us back to the tangible genesis of our spatial expansion... Or a desire for our deflation if we read the pyramid from the bottom up...
They've captured humans and have reported on their findings to their homeworld. Next step is thargoid/human hybrids, by using Earth and the other planets directly under the dead Titans as hatcheries. Or they can use the captured humans to develop bioweapons (aka, defenses against us)

The organs for comms are still "alive"
I mean, we could stop but on the other hand, pre-engineered SCO drives.
Eradication. We are under no more obligation to the goids than they had to the guardians. Our obligation is to our own descendants. To leave the job undone is the betrayal of our own destiny.
Suffer not the Xenos to live! My armor is contempt! My shield is disgust! My sword is hatred! Ave Imperator!
With colonization coming they are really going to be pissed.
I think we're about to get wiped and that's the reason for colonization
They want to Coexist. I think we should stop our assault on the last Titan and let it retreat. Show the Thargoids that Humans can show mercy.
This community is amazing. Glad to be back after 6 years
I was hyperdicted about 2 hours ago jumping to Sol. No attempts at interdiction though.
How compelling Mr. Titan, please turn and face the wall, now. *hardpoints deployed*
Why stop what we have already done seven times let's get rid of that unwanted Earth satellite
Hostage 😎
Wow, Frontier Marketing is really working overtime here!
It looks like a Dark Wheel 🧐
Has anyone checked to see if these signals are having any effect on the people we rescued?
Maybe the message is that they plan to mutate the humans that they captured, and that they will multiply and multiply.
I was just hyperdicted at 15:33 game time headed into Sol. So, they're not completely cessed.
I flew out of RS Hunter about an hour ago, headed straight to Sol, and got interdicted (hyperdicted?) on a jump into the system.
this could be very interesting considering the upcoming player colonization feature.
And in the near future (coming months) we will start expanding massively (hopefully).
Hyperdictions have not stopped. As of 2:12pm EST, I was hyperdicted going into Sol.
You know what would be wild? If with the defeat of Cocijo, we started to see titans show up all over the edges of the galaxy, way more than the 8 "scouts". I really hope this isn't the end of the Thargoid war because I've had so much fun hunting the bugs
It could be the first depiction of what thargoids look like since we've only seen their space fairing vessels and this is their hierarchy
Frontier is trying to set up an antagonist to the upcoming colonization mechanic so our new colonized systems get an interesting threat instead of throwing pirates at them
The communication almost has to be for us. If this is how they communicate over distance, we'd have seen these waveform images before.
In Leonidas' voice: "Give them nothing, but take from them, everything!"
4:16 wow lol, that was brutal but absolutely hilarious.
"Too many humans, retreat and scatter"? Idk 🤷♂️
What if that in the Background is not a Stargoid but the Galaxy we are "infesting" with our rapid expansion?
I don't think we can get everyone to stop attacking at this point
Hyperdictions are still happening when jumping into Sol. I've been hyperdicted both times I've jumped in today.
My hope is that after cocijo falls we get to unlock the thargoid home sector and have new content out there
The discovery of the image timed with a stop of defense is more than a coincidence.
Attacking humanity was merely to learn more about humanity. To them war isnt war its just a form of study.
The Goids have been running a hybridization program 😮 or not 😂
there's some commanders in system chat talking about placing their "Anacondas" inside the mothership heat vents
I was hyper dicted jumping into Sol in the last 2 hours. Only in system interdiction is stopped
Has anybody started hearing thargoid interceptor noises around the rescue ship?
Sadly, that is a glitch. There is a Mechan video explaining the mechanics of it somewhere.
Explained here: ruclips.net/video/HjLZc5ik2XY/видео.html
It’s like Battlestar Galacticas “five”. They’re delivering the next evolution of humans into our civilization
"It all happened before"
@@samucleta All those "humans" we "rescued" We just saved the Goids shipping cost.
Thargoid skinjobs, fathom the possibility of that gameplay loop
so does that mean I can fly a thargoid ship now?
@@admiralrng6506 hmm. depends....were you recently rescued from a Titan pod?
I DID IT!!!!!! I made 2mil Cred worth of damage in 1 run and now I feel accomplished. Thank You Commander for the help
It could also mean expanding together
SUFFER NOT THE XENOS TO LIVE!
AVE IMPERATOR! THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!
I say that, yes they've come to fight our expansion, but...
Looking at the kidnapping of humans tell us maybe that we'll have some on foot combat horror esque type of thargoid. Using our kind to destroy us.
If this is true, the further colonization will face to thargoid attacks all the time, and players will have to grind to repair their settlements (or to defend them)
Interesting theory. Why not. Thanks.
Regardless of how tge future unfolds,
It's sort of a bummer tk see the mystery of the Thargoids being unveiled.
They were like enigmatic space whales, they were so very alien,
but they became generic scifi "the scary bad alien enemy" 🥺
I think in the 34th century we solved the low birthrate problem lol. Also 3310 is 34th century. Millennium would be 330,000. for comparison Eve Online is set in what would be the 23rd millennium in our calendar, but civilization fell at least once and rose again in that time.
3310 is in the fourth millennium, as I said :)
Etc.
Maybe its the activation code for those humans that have been captured and assimilated
Maybe this is how they defeated the Guardians.
@@fcsuper The lore is very clear that the Guardians were eradicated by their own AI constructs. Before that happened however they kicked the ever living shit out of the Thargoids.
Thargoids sending activation signals to zombiefied rescued people that were inside titans
Enthralled rather than zombified
My mate was hyperdicted entering Sol at 19:00.
Makes sense, If were a Thargoid I wouldn't want those pesky humans thinking they can just expand willy nilly. 😃
I think its military comms for a call for help from their home systems and because its a desperate transmission they didn't encode it or didn't care to
I don't think this is over
I wonder if this isn't the Thargoid equivalent of a food pyramid?! 😋
"100 ways to serve humanity...for dinner."
"101 ways to serve humanity...for dinner."
The image remind me of the Galaxy Spiral arms, maybe it has something to do with the "end" of each Spiral arm?
They stuck their Cocijo out and are getting it chopped off. I think if they want peace enough their Queen can ask us more plainly for a chat.
Humanity was forged by bloodied wars and conflicts, every eras in our civilization contains wars of different scales, and human evoled from it, finding a better ways to defeat our enemy
And this is what happened when humanity didn't went extincted, we wage war on the different scale, while continuing our expansion (colonies and colonized systems)
if it's to stop our expansion, the thargoids came too late, humanity is already wide spread throughout this part of the galaxy(in game) and the prolonged fights gave us opportunity to invented ways to fight them
So, summary, it was too late for them, even if our home world falls, and the last titan sacrifices itself to destroy it, they cannot stop humanity anymore.
How do you have the Titan Health thingy in overlay?? please help
They are already here in New Jersey! Send help
Genestealer cults, except Thargoid instead of Tyranid.
Or maybe they are saying that thru them, we will multiply and expand even more....amazing job by FDEV!
Cocijo can leave any time it wants. I just won't let it.
Thargoids ....THe ARGument Of IDealS
Are your species worthy?
I don't know... If they had taken inspiration from the representations of humans on the plates of the pioneer probes for their silhouettes, then I think it would have sparked a deeper reflection to delve into... perhaps more frightening... Something that takes us back to the tangible genesis of our spatial expansion... Or a desire for our deflation if we read the pyramid from the bottom up...
As long it’s not Thanos logic I’ll be happy. Wah too much population wah in an infinite universe wah.
At least the Thargoids know what male and female is 😂
They've captured humans and have reported on their findings to their homeworld. Next step is thargoid/human hybrids, by using Earth and the other planets directly under the dead Titans as hatcheries. Or they can use the captured humans to develop bioweapons (aka, defenses against us)
It's a countdown. They're in-sync.
Last “known” Titan.
