Just went to Byron and wish I watched this vid sooner. Back home now and I miss it crazy. Best spot to have a chilled holiday. Chilled vibes and great people all round highly recommend 👍

As a Canadian I’ve been obsessed with the idea of moving to Australia. looking to settle somewhere close to Brisbane. I would really love to check this place out
Byron used to be cool. Now it’s just full of rich, entitled wankers and dirty middle class van life knobs. The surf is crowded, the shops are overpriced and there are far too many white cotton shirts and man buns.
@@THEORIGIONALDontTreadOnMe well unfortunately the town has changed a lot in the last few decades and tourism is now the major employer. Do you think all those restaurants and cafes would be there without that? No. And I'm friends with many locals who have been around for 30 years + and they have a much more positive attitude to it all. Sure there are some bad aspects (such as increased rentals prices etc) but it's not going anywhere so its time to adapt. I think what you're more annoyed about is not tourism, but the way the town has changed in terms of gentrification and expansion as well as the badly managed resources and long term planning. Two very different things.
Thx for this btw way as i type I’m on holidays at Byron bay and went to the whale watching place before watching this 4:04
Glad it helped you out and enjoy the rest of your holiday!
Also Fishmongers on Bay Lane. The barbequed baby octopus is great. It's tucked away so tourists can't find it but it's the best fish and chip shop
thanks for the recommendation Thomas!

@@StokedForTravel absolutely 🤙
Beautiful vlog over all mate! 🤙 Byron is one of the best places I've ever been in Au.
Thanks heaps bro! Indeed it’s an awesome spot for sure 🤙
Just so you guys know sometimes at byron beaches there are a lot of blue bottles so recommend wearing long sleeve rashies
Good tip there - although it’s usually when there’s a strong northerley wind 🤙
Yeh true but thanks for the tips loved the video 😊
@@scoot6332 glad you liked it! 😊

18 hours from Sydney!? Are you pushing you van up the highway? 😆 Great vid - cheers!
Hahaha yeah it’s defo quicker in a one bit drive - more based on how long the Greyhound Bus takes!

It's an awesome spot to enjoy and only a few hours South of Brisbane. Noosa is another one for your list too, just a few hours North of Brissie!
Spot 4 pot😆😁😄

1thing ucan do in Byron is smoke pots n hang out .
Vivre la vie😁🏄♀️🏄🏄♂️🏊
Hahaha hippie vibes all round 😜😜
No.16 head up to Parkway Drive, the home of hardcore band Parkway Drive yyeeww
Hahaha I’ll add that into the next instalment 😜
I recon the best thing to do in Byron is to steal the parkway dr sign
🤣🤣🤣
It’s only 8-9 hours MAX from Sydney to Byron bay not 18 hours as the intro says in the graphic.
Indeed you can get there much faster driving or flying direct, but a lot of the overnight buses take heaps longer
Visit the festival
Yes yes - both Splendour and Bluesfest are well worth it 🤙
@@StokedForTravel lol. I’m referencing forza horizon 3. But I bet those are awesome too.
Be careful of the winds!!! Strongest wind I have ever felt !!
Most easterly point so the weather can be a bit hectic sometimes!
Home sweet home
What an epic spot to call home! What’s top of your to do list? 🤙
😍🧸
whats your favourite thing to do in Byron?
18 hours from Sydney??? I think you mean 8 hours!!!
I suppose it all depends on how fast you drive.
Yeah you can certainly drive it faster if your going solo - but the overnight bus takes about that 🤙
I’m looking for an old friend…Her name is Robin Bailey she is from Byron Bay…My name is Omaha Flynn
Yep come on sheep
heaps of other places to explore on the coast, but Byron still draws the crowds for so many reasons!
People who have to much money will destroy this beautiful paradise
Probably very true unfortunately….
Byron used to be cool. Now it’s just full of rich, entitled wankers and dirty middle class van life knobs. The surf is crowded, the shops are overpriced and there are far too many white cotton shirts and man buns.
Lived in Byron in the 70's. The place is way too commercialised and full of wankers !!
Wish I could’ve visited back then - even in the last 12 years it’s certainly changed heaps, and not for the better unfortunately
@@StokedForTravel Nirvana
Not a fan of Byron. Too hippy and felt like it had a drug culture
It’s not for everyone, it’s way less hippie than it once was though, which is a shame for sure
Go away not welcome
Care to elaborate?! Considering most of the town relies on tourism I'd say they're pretty welcome!
@@StokedForTravel Um according to us locals... that's the real locals that have been here for decades, no they not welcome. Go away.
