i cant stand pokemon, but those are crazy good, the colors are so vibrant and togther so well. i have to vote for those. like you said, the creator captures the characters size really well and the character touching or merging onto other panels of the shoe was executed perfectly. great shoes but this one is easy for me. im going with the pokemon

I like the simplicity of the NES ones, but I feel like the COD Or Pokémon are my pick. I think the Pokémon ones aren’t that wearable, cause I have heard that if you paint on a midsole the paint can crack. I also feel like if they wanted to make the characters larger they coulda picked a different sillouhete, like the AJ1 since they are a mid top so they have more height. Although, they look absolutely stunning and I do like that they painted on the midsole even though you might not wear them that much. They look like a great addition to a shelf though!
As for the call of duty ones, they’re also incredible. The detail and the fact that he was so dedicated he made a whole app for it? Wow. I like that kinda hazy war kinda look y’know? However, I feel like if you walk around in them, because of the neutral colors, people might not make the connection at first glance. I think that he made a perfect transition from COD to a sneaker.
However I think ima choose Pokémon because even though a different sillouhete might have granted them the space they needed, I think that the backgrounds and the foregrounds are beatiful. I don’t even like Pokémon that much and I would wear them. Those were stunning. And trust me, the other sneakers, practically TIED for second. They all did an incredible job. Congratulations to everyone.
Appreciate your thoughtful review! Yeah, I wouldn't wear my Pokemon customs either. They were more of a trophy shoe by design. However, I added 2-hard in all the paint that is on the midsoles as well as multiple layers of scratch resistant sealer.

Thank you for you honest opinion. Most definitely a trophy piece of work, however, most of the time, and I am sure all the portrait artist can agree, there are always doubt takes.

The only professional looking shoe that would actually be made by a Nike are the Nintendo Air Force 1s. All the other shoes just looked like regular people who make custom shoes, because there is just drawings all over the shoe that aren’t matching with the other shoe. The Nintendo AF1 were very well made to match the other shoe and looks more professionally made including the box.

These are fantastic. I don't paint shoes but the translation of the art is still perfect for the inspiration I need. Some really bad ass artists out there. Well done. Love that you have this platform to help them be seen.
I really dig the Nintendo Kicks. From the outside box to the inside box lid & finally the Kicks. Plus the heat up feature & the button leather Patch. I'm in the beginner stage of trying to design my own. Want to really get on that level

I didn’t get final four, but I still enjoyed competing with other customizers. Its almost crazy how I hear that some of the contestants started this year. Congratulations to the final four and may the best win. I think that all four were absolutely insane💯✊🏾

There's so many incredible artists out there that do amazing work! It's inspiring for myself, since I've been doing custom work for the last 5 years now. #1 NES, winner by far. From the box to the shoe
how do i enter a pair of my customs for review?
1. The velcro cartridges were a little cheesy but the custom was otherwise perfect, box too.
2. The artwork was fantastic but overall as a shoe really didn't do it for me.
3. I didnt care for the team names on the toe boxes but the theme and graphics were absolutely amazing.
4. The red liner/tongue was a brilliant choice to tie together the dark portraits and bright logo banner.
All were superb customs with my favorite being the NES ones followed closely by the Pokemon, then GoW and lastly the CoD. My only bad critique would be that this man has never played God of War but knew everything about Pokemon 😉

No we're close as good as these guys! Haven't even started my first pair yet but these videos are most definitely inspiring me to give this a try as a small hobbie first. My first pair would be NFL Detroit lions Honolulu Blue style. Something simple with Detroit lions logo fabric.

Nintendo's were dope, a little rough around the edges.
Call of duty probably had the best airbrushing...didn't like the white fabrics..feel like more could've been done there. Laces n aggs a nice touch.

God of war, little rough but I do love the two-shoe connecting portrait.

What level of grit do I need to use when using sand paper on my shoes? I've hydro dipped a few pairs and even the pairs I painted with light coats cracked where the toe box is. Any advice would help guys
400,800,1500. Hydro dipping won’t hold on leather I believe .

Also, do you recommend to do a white layer before working with other colours when working with a black canvas like the Nintendo one? Thank you! And thank you for sharing your knowledge! :-)

Pokemon and GOW are top class. Not only the details but the quality. The nintendo was cool but to many sloppy areas when he zoomed in.

Maybe the last person has only been customizing shoes for a few months.....but they've been an artist for years! That's the part they conveniently leave out lol. I wanna see some shoes from someone who has never really drawn or done much with art before, and has only been customizing shoes for like a year or so. I'd like to see some shoes from some true newbies lol. I'd like to see where people started, and then see where they are at now.....not just where they are at now. I feel like seeing where people started and where there are now, gives newbies like myself hope. Whereas when all you see is the final outcome, it kind of discourages you from even wanting to start in the first place :( When you see where someone started, and see where they ended up....that makes someone think: "okay, if they can do that, then I can do it to." Whereas when all you see is where they are now, all you think to yourself is: "damn, there's no way I could ever do something like that." Even if in reality anyone can with time. I know its strange, but thats just how the mind works, or at least mine lol.
One of these days you should make a video that showcases one of someone's first custom shoes to ones they have now, and seeing how much someone has progressed :) :) I'd absolutely LOVE to see a video like that!!
