Fan of this dude Andy since that legendary sumerian audition. he fits with Chris style, bc he also likes to vocal reproduce de techniques used in the song. 10/10
Yes! I've always curious about and loved Tim's technique, and how he gets so much power behind his screams (especially his highs). One of my favorite screamers/lyricists ever for sure.
Andy's not just a great vocalist but also a great producer with a fantastic understanding of how all of these layers piece together. Been waiting for you to do something with him for a long time.
I think it's kinda funny when vocal coaches analyze things like that, because I imagine the singer coming out and saying "really? Is that what I was doing? I had no idea, I was just opening my mouth and singing the only way I know". 😂
Metalcore for life! Hey love this collab guys, Andy you're an amazing vocalist and Chris you keep pulling the veil from metal vocals for me and it is just brilliant so please keep it up.

Hello I have a really great recommendation I think you would love! The artist is called suacy dog and the song is sugar, but listen to the live one, it is in a concert so he does some talking so just skip halfway, but the live version is better in my opinion because the song is about a breakup he just had and that's why he cries when singing it.
Okay andy. Teach me the ways! I love playing guitar and all but I love doing metal vocals and use to do backup but the way you guys explain and how on par and control you have is insane lol
LOVE seeing you two in the same room! And WOW, Andy’s ability to drop demonstrative nuggets that are SO dialed in and then fiddle with the knobs like that is UNREAL. Y’all are both so skilled and insightful.
I absolutely love videos which breakdown a craft. It's always interesting when people criticize metal as 'just screaming' (presumably, just yelling with little to no structure or meaning) when this song is an example which couldn't be further from the truth. This was one of the best 'reaction' videos I've ever watched. Well done. Really.
Hey Chris! Been here for years and you helped me alot as far as understanding things about my own vocal approach and more. I would love to see your vocal analysis of Every Time I Die - Map Change. I don't think you ever did this on your channel. Keith Buckley is such an amazing singer and I would love too see your thoughts about his approach to vocals.
Hey Chris, can you make a vocal analysis about Pierce the Veil or Sleeping with Sirens (or any kind of high singing type of vocalist similar to them) because im really confused if they sing in mixed voice or if they actually have natural high chest voice. My voice is really low, i can sing the high notes easy too in mixed/falcetto but im not getting that full and good sounding tone that they have. So im thinking that they just have natural high voices and sing in chest voice.
Your screaming is coming on well Chris! 😊👍🏼👏🏼Which has been your favorite or biggest takeaway from all the various scream courses/artists you have put out? 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
I’ve learned so much in lots of different ways from all the collabs I’ve been able to do over the last few years. I’m continually shown how diverse these kinds of approaches can be. It’s fascinating to learn about these vocalists journeys and realize how they came about the techniques they are teaching me. There are commonalities but each approach has resonated with me in a unique way that has continued to unlock things in my voice as I practice with their guidance. Taking the role of a student has helped me continue to learn and progress like I never thought possible!
@@chrisliepe Totally agree - we are all students for life when we decide to pursue the mysteries of our voice! I get something from everyone I've ever studied with - or even taught! 😁👍🏼
I'd love to hear you guys do some analysis of songs from the Amity Affliction - they do a lot of two singer mixing as well, including a style of "Scream singing" that I rarely see other vocalists do. A song called "Like Love" has a really good example of all their styles in one song. Another one is "Ivy (Doomsday)" - the chorus technique I'd love to see in a vocal analysis!
I taught myself false chords then got help from tallahs lead vocalist, but Andy is so knowledgeable I’m learning new stuff I appreciate it imma buy the course definitely cause singing with distortion is my struggle
I watched this whole video, and it is very impressive. My God, These young Bucks are incredible. From shredding guitar, bass, drums, and of course Vocals. I got to say I’m not into death Metal but I always like the instrumental part, when the singing came in, it would ruin everything. My limit in favor to growl/distortion would be subject to, Chris Cornell, Robert Plant, Axl Rose. But this band with the long deep gut chest voice, and the neat clean mid/head voice is superb, at least this song. Great break down, Andy Chizk is an awesome guest, and splendid voice demonstration as well. Chris, you hit in on the head at 16:00 - when you said, “I don’t know man.” To me how they did this is, this is a low fry/chest voice, and the other singer full high head voice (no falsetto, none of that in this song) . That is how that mix happened. 16:13 is where you hear it. Andy still went with both singers singing lower, at that time, didn’t hear it then I think but realized around 22:15. It comes so easy for him to do, he must be so used to low growl. Singed up on the waiting list, should be great. Great job once again Chris. Your voice is solid. Andy Cizek. Are you Canadian mate.
Andy is from Boston :) Thanks for noticing all that man... Looking forward to meeting you if you decide to do the course! Will be fun to nerd out some more!
Suggestion for a reaction & analysis video: Nina Hagen. Trust me - you're going to love her! She is known as "The Godmother of German Punk" and has an absolutely crazy and unique singing style. The songs I would recommend are "TV-Glotzer" and "African Reggae".
This is their best new song. It encompass Death Metal inspiration in Metalcore, instead of djent shit. And opens more creativity, melodic riffs and magestic music composition.
I dont know how this got into my algorithm but i enjoy this lol. The guy on the right im guessing andy? Is an ultimate vocal king. I shall name him metal vocal scientist. Lol nah i jk. But seriously this was randomly in my algorithm and now ima sub and wanto watch more andy dissecting vocals
Hey Chris I don’t know if you’ve done a video on the for those who have heart by adtr but if you did trying to explain how they do the screams this would be awesome
Chris Liepe, reacts to Gabriel Henrique singing the song: I want to know what love is (Mariah Carey cover), featuring the choir Black to Black, Please!

Oh, Andy is one of my favorite vocalists. It's good to see him here. :)

I feel this when I do it lol
That’s pretty much how Tim approaches screaming. He kinda just went for it without thinking much about technique at all

Yeah! So cool 😎 I love the interaction between the two of you. Been wanting to explore my screams.
Its cool to see as i lay dying with that older miss may I sound. Throws me back to 2010
Tim's doing a mixture of false and fry. We call it hybrids. Thats what you are hearing at 16:10
I met Andy cizek in a arcade in Maryland he’s genuinely one of the nicest dudes I’ve met he was playing DDR and I waited patiently to talk to him lol
Chris Liepe, You're the best! I subscribed because I love your content!

Great new song and content for your channel.
Next April First, I want a Chris Liepe and guests out of context video
I like that Tim's vocals are well balanced. He isn't better at one pitch or the other. He brings death metal vocals to metalcore.
Both of you are bursting at the seams 😂 head bang! Don't hold back! This is as I lay dying! The Gods of metalcore
Coolest reaction video I’ve seen.
Chorus so 🔥 , next All That Remains - Divine
Is kind of funny to see andy here listen to as i lay dying ,when i khown for a fact he can do all the scream and clean part on his own of this song
Damn. these guys are so fun and talented to watch.
We need more!!

I really love the new clean vocalist, Josh & Tim will always be my go to duo of metalcore, but they sound somewhat similar :b

Fun fact. I produced the record and the Fade Away is actually Tim’s wife Dani mixed with him.

You should check out "Lucid" by Termina. Andy's vocals are amazing in it, and it's my favorite sing that features Andy🤘🤘
Loved the analysis. Does Ryan use a similar bag of tricks on the chorus for Miss May I - Under Fire?
I'll have to check out Under Fire... There's probably some good overlap here, but with his own flare!
Just in case people were wondering, yes it's Ryan Neff from Miss May I doing the clean vocals
This was a brilliant reaction! And I'd call the 19:43 part the Batman scream! 😆
Me too 😂
Holy shit dude on the right sounds sick as fuck! 🤘🏼🤘🏼😂 Sounds like a zombie 😂😂
Andy kicks asses
I was wondering how they were going to replace Josh Gilbert but this guy sounds really good. I’d like to see how attacks blinded.
Great job! You guys should do a vocal analysis on Starsets new song!
