I have a 1/16 scale and care about it so much and seeing this brand new body scraping the concrete and sliding across the street hurts! Great video overall though. Great idea..

Can't deny the slashes can take a beating, that's what I got for my son and only thing that broke was a front a arm got lose and hit s metal swing set pole I have a video of it hitting hard
You need to fabricate some type of front aero to keep the front end down, plus those massive pizza cutters aren't doing you any favors keeping the front from lifting and catching all that air. Love your vids, they're mental.

With 6s just weight its front end down ...will need steel driveshaft tho or loosen slipper to save plastic drive shafts
tires change diameter...its like a CVT going into high gear...and with electric torque thats instant, it just flips over..

You guys are a friggin riot! I have worked in LHS for years and the things we used to get into after hours....I wouldn't put that online if you paid me. We did the same thing one day but threw on a pair of X-01's wheels, fastened a Ziploc baggie with Mr. Freezie popsicles over the motor and cut out some vents on the hood/fenders on 6S....just don't drive near yourself. I'm sure someone online had to of tried that. Anyways, awesome vids, made my day so I think am going rc'ing now :D Keep your pecker up mates

Try 5s or 6s with the stock tiers, smaller, griper, less ballooning. Will all that help you get faster speed runs?

@@alexanderuzan5892 a 5 s battery does exist. I have a few for some rc planes I fly. They are normally made in planes sizes like 2200, or 1600, so they would not be ideal for cars but they could work
I just got done fully building my slash 4x4 with a 1415 2400kv sensored motor and sidewinder 4 and I’m honestly terrified to go flat out. I was testing in my basement and tore a hole in the carpet... needles to say it is no longer allowed in the house

magnets in those motors lose magnetism around 200f (being nice with that number) which is 93c that motor was at 120c 248f wondering how it didnt melt
Lucas's Technic Corner I was very surprised that the motor didn’t just melt. This motor will not be lasting much longer lol
they get too hot and magnets in theory lose magnetism or the other internals fry which is just as bad
They are rated ultra high temperature though
where does it say that? also if the motor could take that heat why wouldnt the esc be able to?

I went on a walk today, and accidentally drove my slash off a 200 ft cliff, and drove it 2 miles back to my house. I’m impressed.

For mine with a erevo brushless motor and esc with 2 3 cell lipos i had to install a rear wing on the front for down force it makes all the difference.

You should see at what speed it takes flight, then add modifications that you would add to a regular car. Like adding a rear spoiler? Or a front diffuser to give it more downforce? I know it sounds ridiculous but this would be a way to test if those things actually help and in car, I know they do but it would be awesome to have a big spoiler on this RC car and a front bumper diffuser to hold it down and see if they could reach a higher top speed without taking flight

Had he ever thought that adding something to weigh the front down a bit might have helped him keep the front from lifting when the wind caught it? Not really that hard to do considering that even the pinewood derby cars use extra weights to help it gain momentum when going down the track, and they don't have electronics for acceleration.

I live in a hot tropical region. At 6s the poor blue motor couldn't last a single minute here.
No joke, some downforce on that might help a lot. I don't know if just a wing would be enough to push the car down and keep it from lifting off, I think it'd actually need like a front wing more than anything to help keep the front wheels planted lol.

Kev! You have never tried to put some Wrights on the Rc cars so that they do not up and you can run better and be able to put the mileage you want!
You should put a camera near the shock absorbers to see how much it compresses when it lands.
This is like when I upgraded my rustler to a big ass brushless motor along with a few other things. I ended up putting a big impact socket at the front so instead of doing wheelies it just flies
my 1:10 sct was parachuting but but i made lil tiny srill holes in the front over the wheel wells behind the cab sides and upper back and no more chuting.....a.k.a vented it.....still strong body

Kev, backflip is non as easy with the xmaxx.
To backflip you have to come to a jump with 50/70% of trottle and in the air gun it.
If the rotational mass is the same in the take off and in the jump, you can't backflip
i didnt toy into rc cars for very long but i remember having a tiny losi trophy truck, think it was like 1/25 scale or something, it was as long as my hand with open fingers, it was ok fast for a while like it went maybe 8 miles an hour but one day i put a huge lipo battery in it under the plastic cover and it would scream down the road at like 40, little ass car haulin ass, didnt take long to strip the gears right out of it, it was a hoot and a half while it lasted, i had it slip the rotor on the shaft of the brushless motor, it got so hot and i fucked up so many parts and eventually it was just fucked, lost front wheel drive and stripped out this and that and i had it for a while till i threw it away, had a little nitro one i had fun with till one day i shot it through a field and hit a rut and it cartwheeled for 200 feet and busted all the wheels off and bent everything metal and busted everything plastic, i wasted alot of allowance money on that but it was fun, now that i actually make money and have to work for it after having teen years where we struggled and only had enough money to eat. now i know how to spend alot less money and go much further as far as having fun goes atleast
You should make a airy dynamic body for one of your cars so I will go reall fast and mabye even hover above the ground for a bit

Can you do a speed run with 6 s and with a 1:8 scale grp tire.
Just get an 14 mm weel adaptor and put the tire on so it stop balooning and you can actually get a 100 mph run

I have run 4S on 1/8 setup with 2650kv in mine, and it was crazy fast. So 6S on 3500Kv is just insanity xD.

I think this power system, preferably a casyle motor too, would be a great system in a Rustler 4x4. Put the adjustable wheelie bar mount on and RIP it!
A few eighth pound or quarter pound lead weights will keep the front end on the ground

To get 100mph ur gonna have to ditch the slash chassis and use the one for the rally. Which they sell as a 'low CoG chassis' for slash. But this WILL vastly reduce it just catching air and flipping when it goes fast enough
