Great album, and there's a very good live performance of the album available on RUclips now which is surprisingly close to the studio recordings in quality and performance😀 i love psychedelia and industrial music and some older analogue sounds. I'm getting used to black metal now (I'm closer to 60 than 50 years old). There are many things on this album that makes my brain jump to many bands fleetingly here and there. There's Stuff that reminds me of early Floyd and early Sabbath, plus some Goblin keys and a bit of Tangerine Dream. More specifically I can also hear Syd Barrett's guitar and Roger Water's screams in some places. That penultimate track reminds me of the bass and drums of The Prodigy, and I can sometimes hear Ministry throughout the whole album. I've listened to it at least two dozen times now, and watched the recent concert nearly as much. That’s interesting because Aphex Twin is completely experimental electronic music and this band is psychedelic black metal, but I still have to say there’s something very similar between these two bands.
Very few of the commentees seem to have any awareness of who pazuzu is. At first i doubted that the band itself was using more than just a pop culture reference as their name but after doing some basic research i have found that deeper homages in the lyrics and song titles to the demonic entity cannot be denied. The masters claw? Clearly a reference to him. How interesting! Essentially that spells to me that an entire collection of lore about pazuzu now exists in audio format. I would even go so far as to suggest that the entire project is a ritual to pazuzu. Context begs me to reveal that he is the primary entity i work with so this is a positive thing now that i have found how deep and disturbingly complex and beautiful these sounds are to me. Thank you to the band. Hail pazuzu!
