As a guitar player myself, damn he is a great player. Those little things, you wouldn’t notice if you didn’t play. I love his voice, too. Nice baritone
man this video made me take acoustic playing way more seriously for that exact reason. mike is ripping but its so subtle and well-done, absolutely incredible playing
i've noticed youve commented on a lot of stuff i enjoy! i figure you must have good taste. do you have any recommendations, kind of lyrical based stuff?
"one of" is refreshing to read before "the best [whatever]". I didn't notice initially even--that's how ubiquitous kids' pointless value judgments are.
> Jerking off to people jerking off to him (Omegle?) > OCD fueled road trips > Getting blown by a man and leaving him badly injured > Rampaging through a town killing everyone in sight >HOWDOIKNOWTHATIMALIVEHOWDOIKNOWTHATIMALIVEHOWDOIKNOWTHATIMALIVE "Aye, here's a silly song"
Thank you for this video. I love that riff at the end of Change Machine. Great to see so clearly what he's playing. I should try and tab it at some point.
i keep coming back when things get hard. i hope hes well. he makes me feel more human and i just hope hes well and him and his family are well and that all is well. not a christian but god bless.
the interviewer was pretty strange tbh lol i actually cut out most of it, theres like 15 mins of talking and 13 mins of playing songs. like he began talking abt ted bundy and serial killers for some strange reason?? awkwardness aside, pretty sure that's the reason the original video has vanished :O
I'm working on it, but I can't promise I'll have it done in a very long time. I have a lot of stuff going on. I started an hour ago, and have it up to "I cut all the ties". I can't post what I have so far because RUclips's font will make the notes not align properly. So here's a screen shot of what I've got. I hope it helps. Let me know if you think anything is wrong, or if this gives you enough of a jumping off point to make some progress of your own. gyazo.com/ed83af09fae91cae545e357b3c1fcad1 I should point out that I voice it a little differently after the (Slide) to make it easier, but it's the same notes. He's playing a 3 on the B string, and I'm playing a 7 on the G, which just seems so much simpler. Other than that, it's spot on as far as I can tell.
Lyrically speaking you’ll want to check out Silver Jews, they were (RIP) another one man project with similar kind of really good throwaway lines with little context but astounding wit. Musically speaking, Elliot Smith (also RIP) if you haven’t listened to him already but I’ve found Mike to be a one of a kind overall 💕
i'm super late but early modest mouse, supreme dicks, wooden stars, science vs witchcraft (another one of mike's projects but more of the noise rock parts), some storm & stress is pretty similar vibes-wise
it was on a station called "Hollow Earth Radio" in Seattle, the show was called "Late Night For Longings" and they used to have an archive of some performances that were video'd on vimeo but they have since been lost to the test of time except this and the Hello Shark session i grabbed before it disappeared.

Yeah, I could never arrange songs like this. He's another level
One of the best things ever uploaded onto youtube.

He doesn’t look like a baritone singer, but he is definitely a great baritone singer

This guy is a genius.

The host is so awkward lol

I know this is a late response but I think it is a yamaha jr1
Where can I find the full thing, with the interview?

Marijuana sounds like Declan Mckenna's Isombard npr version
I can hear it too with the chord progression, gets stuck in your head.
In my head, he weighed 103 pounds more
Is there anywhere anyone can find this whole interview?
it’s on vimeo
Why that guitar so small?
Similar albums to Dancing is Depressing?
