I’m sure there is a story that I’m just not understanding since I’ve been on a internet break but isn’t Hatsune Miku 16…?
Her marketing age is ^^ due to past Vocaloid basically flopping in sales (those without a proper mascot or any info attached to them like Leon and Lola, and sort of MEIKO and KAITO), Crypton decided that maybeee having a cute anime girl as the voicebank's mascot and giving her some basic info will help draw people in, and it worked. The intention behind her is STILL creative freedom though, she's meant to be molded like clay (a Japanese Barbie if you will), that's why you can see a bunch of Hatsune Miku designs that may or may not look like her, but still her. In some songs, she's wayyy older than 16 such as in Blue Planet where she's depicted as a grandmother and sometimes in other songs, a very young child. It's all depending on the song creator's choice.
