In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
nice idea swimming under it. i love mine, went over spots i fish regularly and found the holes and have been doing better ever since. and with the 'boat mode' i can map ponds i fish now, great lil tool right there. no complaints, great vid.
Hey Guy, you haven't heard from me recently. I'm the senior guy with the Malibu kayak who told you that I frequently paddled Centennial Lake. Well I'm writing to tell you that when you posted the video about the Deeper, I ordered one the same day from Amazon. I was desperately looking for a fish finder that could help me locate fish in the kayak without without spending a lot of money and time. Seems like the Deeper proved to be the answer. I first tried it at Centennial from the shore. While casting at least 50-60ft from shore, I had problems with loosing connectivity not realizing that I was probably at the edge of the bluetooth range. Centennial showed no fish from the boat ramp to the beginning of the dam with 5-10ft of water. I didn't wanna walk around to the the cove with the red bridge on the other side of the lake where I had gotten a bite in the kayak. Anyway, today the wife and I got to try it out on Rocky Gorge Res, Howard County, where you had posted your review. We paddled to our secret cove (snicker, snicker!) and deployed the Deeper from the kayak on about 10ft of line around 8:30AM in about 27ft of water. For the first time in the almost 30 days since I've had the device, and the two times that I've used it, I saw symbols for bait fish and large fish in 15-20ft of water just like in the simulation. Between 8:30-about 11:30 while we were on the water, I threw 10-20ft diving crank baits, jerk baits, and jig bait lures, but couldn't get them to bite. I got one bite, but that was it. As for as performance of the Deeper, it stayed connected to my Iphone4S solidly with the phone enclosed in a plastic waterproof case and held sideways, upside down, between my legs with the Deeper 10ft off the back of the kayak until after 3 hrs when the phone gave the 20 %battery warning and I shut it down. The Deeper still had 55% capacity left. So I am very impressed with the device! Just couldn't get the fish to bite my lures. Fish were holding 15-20ft in schools of bait fish. What could I have done differently? Thanks for your suggestions. Richard
+RICHARD C Williams Hey richard, for better connectivity, be sure to watch the whole video for some tips on setting up the deeper like I have it to detect fish more easily and get connection up to 50 yards! In bass fishing, the toughest fish to catch are suspended fish, good baits to catch them with are suspending jerkbaits and alabama rig, good luck!
+1Rod1ReelFishing Michael, I had no connectivity issues at all which really surprised me. The phone was enclosed in a clear plastic watertight envelope down on the floor of the kayak. Wether it was sideways, upside down, etc, it didn't matter. I had an excellent connection for 3 hrs, although it was only 10-12ft off the back of the kayak. I just wanted to know if there was something that I couldn't done differently to encourage a bite. I was using a Rapala DT10 and DT20 crank bait and a couple of top water jerk baits. The fish showed no interest. We'll try again in a few days. Was just surprised that they didn't bite. Maybe it was because they were surrounded by bait fish. Thanks for your help, Richard.
Just came across your channel. Awesome stuff. My daughter (5 yrs old) and I have been watching a bunch of your videos. She and I were at Loch Raven for her first time last weekend. She hooked a few bluegill and loved it and now wants to go again. I may invest in this Deeper Fishfinder to get some tech help for the bigger fish. Thanks for the tutorial.
4:45 -- "What do you see, Pablo?!" Pablo: "Hmmm...not sure, Leo. The markings here and there looks like arms and legs. It's a HUMAN BEING!" Haha. I see that your habit of jumping into places is still top notch, Mike. I looked at my old videos just the other day and found one of you retrieving your Frog at Lake Alverthorpe, Aeons ago. Good stuff. This Ball is definitely neat. My first ever portable sonar was a Hummingbird, so I am definitely willing to give it a try one of these days.
+Extreme Philly Fishing Leo, definitely a different species than your used to catching !!! Recommended baits: Money (preferably 20's), new bait casting reels, bass (5lbs or bigger), or french fries.
Love your videos. Ordered my Deeper yesterday. Congrats, a bit early, for making 1 MILLION subs!! It IS going to happen soon. Come to Wisconsin....lets go fishing. You could teach this old retired disabled Vet much about fishing. Currently I do a lot of toss out lure or bait and wait to NOT catch anything. LOL But hey, I am fishing.
It is absolutely my favorite fishing channel I come home from school and look forward to seeing a new tip videos or just one of you fishing but anyway every time I check your subs it goes up like a few hundred a day so good in the future I will still be a sub
nice vid kid i had no idea they made such a thing thanks for bringing an old guy up to modern times loved your vid well done especially when you went in that was classic
thanks for the demo video. I've been on the fence about getting one of these, but I'm definitely going to get one soon. I bank fish and kayak fish, so the flexibility of this device is awesome!
Hey Mike, I've looked through your how to's and I didn't see any, but have you ever done a bait casting how to? I'm thinking a complete A to Z from spooling up line to setting the spool brakes and casting.
Not bad, good walkthrough on how to use this. Looks like ur on ur way on learning fish finder. Great setting choices as well. What is the Map option? Can you build maps? Can I kayak there? looks like a great sand quarry?
Great vid. Best vid posted about the product. Been thinking about getting one for a while. I think after watching your video I'm gonna go get one. I bank fish almost every day in Toronto so this will be a fun and useful tool to use. I can use it on my inflatable as well. Right now I use a Hummingbird Fishin' Buddy on my inflatable and it works great but not very useful from the bank. I'll check out your other videos. Thanks.
Thank you man for this vid! It's awesome, I always ask my dad the same question haha, but he just says he doesn't know. Anyways thanks man, when i start up my channel i'll be sure to give you props for any fish I catch with it.
Just curious. I was thinking of connecting a leader line to the extra loop piece they give you. so you can mark and maybe catch fish. Then again. You may lose the deeper.. use a less pound test line as leader.
@OneRodOneReelFishing my uncle does a lot of flats fishing for specks and red fish in Texas where we live, he swears by his curados but I noticed your orra inshore and was wondering how that was holding up, and it's performance compared to other reels. Also, is it worth upgrading to the revo inshore for $100 more? Thx and great vid.
+Philip Watt never used the revo but love my orra, used it surf fishing and various saltwater spots and its holding up perfectly, bombs casts, not as smooth as my other high end reels but you can't beat the price for $150
Mike- your iPhone needs to have the battery percentage turned on lol. You cannot just have it showing the battery strength. Here is how to turn your battery percentage on: Settings > General > Usage > Turn On Battery Percentage Also the button when turning Bluetooth on and off, you don't need to slide it, all you have to do is tap it. This goes for ALL the buttons on the iPhone. BTW, this past weekend, I bought a new Shimano Chronarch CI4+ reel. Thing is super sweet. I am probably going to line it with 30lb braid
Yo sorry I have a few questions about this if you don't mind me asking. I bought this fish finder after watching your videos (and saving up of course)... 1. Is there a way to quickly change rods because I don't want the fish to like swim away after I have marked it? 2. Do you have any general tips that you didn't add in this video? (I made my interface look and settings the exact same as yours, and it's alot better). Sorry for all the questions i've asked you haha, i just don't like other channels as much as this one.
+manny eagle haha np bro glad to help. I usually carry one rod dedicated for the deeper, or I'll use a strong snap so I can quicly change it out. All the tips in the vid will pretty much cover everything, now u just gotta go out and slay em xD
I'm a bit confused about reading a hard bottom vs soft bottom. I know you said something about the hard bottom being darker but it all looks the same to me (orange with black underneath)
Have you compared it to the iBobber? I watched a few videos over the past 3 days of fishing n some were using the iDeeper n some others were using the iBobber. I know Jon B did one on the iB. How heavy is the deeper & what strength line would u recommend for casting it?
im a hunter, a fisher, and i live in northwest ohio, hopefully someday ill see you at scioto in dublin if you still go there😅its a 3 hour drive and im 12 so i cant drive but ive watched about 40 lf your vids in 4 days
Sorry to bother you again with questions but im a fly fisherman and im new to bass fishing, what size rod would you use for crank baits? BTW love ur channel keep it up1
I see the Gorge still looks like Zombie Apocalypse. Did they open the Dam during dry spell or what?! Also, do you know if they are still doing fall trout stocking of patapsco at Daniels? Can't find info on DNR website or on hotline. Great vids man... Sure ill run into you at some point. Cheers
+mtholen718 thanks for watching bro! the drought this year took a toll on the reservoir, its down like 14 feet. Trout stocking will be posted this fall, the stocking dates have not been posted yet though
I usually fish a small river. When it rains it really comes alive but a few days after it calms down. Then that's she I try to catfish. They aren't huge catfish but big enough to eat.

+Andrew Perez definitely worth it. The deeper is a tool just like a jerkbait, or a jig. If you know how to use it correctly, it can help you catch more and bigger fish!
+bluumeeny good question, you mean two at the same time? Or two different phones at separate times? I'm 90% sure the answer is yes to both questions, I'll get the creator of deeper to come here and answer it for u though :D
+Welder Nate if you use a smooth casting motion with proper brake settings your chance of snapping will be 0% I've made hundreds of casts with it and have yet to snap my line
1Rod1ReelFishing Using an open faced reel there's chances of forgetting to open it or getting caught some where on the reel. Done it a few times snapped 12lb line with the deeper and had to wait one hour for it blow to shore.
i live right by this place and never knew anything about it i would love to link up with u and do some fishing I'm on the verge of launching my own channel for fishing and would love to fish with u!!!!

Mike I just bought a Deeper and have been looking at several videos on how to use it. I have to say that yours is one of the best. Thank you.

You diving in makes this the ultimate review! I just bought a deeper and the reelsonar scale because of you. Hopefully they show you some love.
+Peter Vongphacdy haha thanks for watching! You're gonna love em, they're both awesome products!
Just came across your channel. Awesome stuff. My daughter (5 yrs old) and I have been watching a bunch of your videos. She and I were at Loch Raven for her first time last weekend. +Extreme Philly Fishing lmao send me that footage! xD
+Extreme Philly Fishing Leo, definitely a different species than your used to catching !!! Recommended baits: Money (preferably 20's), new bait casting reels, bass (5lbs or bigger), or french fries.
+1Rod1ReelFishing plz tell me some awesome fishing facts and how to make an awesome channel like yours
+1Rod1ReelFishing why did you go swimming for a 5 dollar bait
+aquadan005 Hahaha. Money and fast food would work well. Though, we all know that a "mermaid" would be the perfect bait for it.
I've always thought you were part fish.
+Andrew Flair Fishing lmfao flair killing it on the comment section again xD
FLAIR LoL
FLAIR j
I’m happy you two are again working together! May 2020 be a great year!!!-)
@@ProvoDrive that aged well 😂

Just bought one after watching this video. Thanks for very simple explanation!
Best review ever of the Deeper fishfinder! Keep up the good work!
+Steven Verelst thanks bro!
Hey Mike, I've looked through your how to's and I didn't see any, but have you ever done a bait casting how to? I'm thinking a complete A to Z from spooling up line to setting the spool brakes and casting.
+aquadan005 i got everything expect spooling up here! ruclips.net/video/KqA9lgxMjO8/видео.html
I bought mine yesterday. Can't wait to get it. Should I use braided line to keep from losing the unit?
If I tried casting while holding my phone I’d end up pitching the $1000 iPhone out into the water 🤣🤣🤣
lots of people have been waiting for something like this
+Tim Beiber yup i waited over 10 years for it :P
Good vid especially seeing you on the screen underwater shows the potential of the device 👍🏼well done
another question, Can I throw deeper with my hand instead of cast it with my rod? kinda worrying about breaking my rod.
Not bad, good walkthrough on how to use this. Looks like ur on ur way on learning fish finder. Great setting choices as well. What is the Map option? Can you build maps? Can I kayak there? looks like a great sand quarry?
+rawr215 yup lots of kayakers at rocky gorge, and u can build maps on it too I haven't tried that feature out yet though
+1Rod1ReelFishing build that map and make use of it. can't wait for 3D maps via 3D structure scan lol
Thanks.
+Fishing with Michael Consul thanks for watching bro! I appreciate the support, and I think you'll be very happy with the MTB!
Just started my own fishing channel. Can't wait to try it out.

+Chris Hill Yeah it's very cool!
Just curious. I was thinking of connecting a leader line to the extra loop piece they give you. so you can mark and maybe catch fish. Then again. You may lose the deeper.. use a less pound test line as leader.
have you ever fished in Michigan? if so where at and what did you use for lures

+Jonas Hamrah haha thanks for the tips! and catch some hawgs on that new reel xD
Hi would you do a how to on buzz baits I went to the lake of the Ozarks using that lure mostly but I just couldn't seem to get it to work
Yo sorry I have a few questions about this if you don't mind me asking. I bought this fish finder after watching your videos (and saving up of course)...

Have you herd about the new one by fish hunter coming out soon?
I'm a bit confused about reading a hard bottom vs soft bottom. I know you said something about the hard bottom being darker but it all looks the same to me (orange with black underneath)
+futtmill the amount of orange dictates the hardness of the bottom. More orange = softer bottom
Thanks
Have you compared it to the iBobber? I watched a few videos over the past 3 days of fishing n some were using the iDeeper n some others were using the iBobber. I know Jon B did one on the iB. How heavy is the deeper & what strength line would u recommend for casting it?
What test/type of line do you use when casting the deeper? Because it would really suck to cast it out and your line break lol
+Alex Curro anywhere from 14 lb fluoro to 30 lb braid, I've never snapped it off before
Use twine. U don't need to cast out the deeper...just throw it.
What thermometer do you use to measure the bottom temp? I'm assuming the deeper only measures surface temp, right? Really enjoy your videos btw.
+Andrew Stokes thanks for watching! The deeper only measures the surface, I use a bassproshops stream thermometer to measure the bottom!
1Rod1ReelFishing Thanks for the info. I figured you were using a stream thermometer. I'll be picking one up today. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this, I was looking into this and was skeptical about, this helped me make up my mind about it.
+evilrubberducky1 np bro, thanks for watching!
im a hunter, a fisher, and i live in northwest ohio, hopefully someday ill see you at scioto in dublin if you still go there😅its a 3 hour drive and im 12 so i cant drive but ive watched about 40 lf your vids in 4 days
+Austin Seambos thanks for watching bro! I'll prob host a sub tourney in ohio one day, feel free to enter!
+1Rod1ReelFishing Ok! I probably wont make it tho:(
What is your favorite version of the GoPro and what are your reasons for choosing one over the other?
+BassAngler100 gopro hero 4 silver - has a touchscreen and best video quality for my fishing vids :D
+1Rod1ReelFishing Where did you get your chest strap and for how much? I've seen it for $40 but I'm looking for a better deal, you know? Haha
what pound braid do you use for flipping jigs? your vids are awesome mike
+Travis Martin usually 40 lb for flipping and thanks for watching bro!
you think you can do a deeper vs ibobber? would be awesome! !! or maybe a ibobber review please.
What know do you use to secure the deeper and ensure that it won't break off?
+MOFishing if you tie a good knot it has a 0% chance of breaking off!
Best RUclipsr out there!!!
Sorry to bother you again with questions but im a fly fisherman and im new to bass fishing, what size rod would you use for crank baits? BTW love ur channel keep it up1
+Aidan Moorefield thanks for watching bro! try a 6'6" to 7' medium action rod with a moderate-fast tip
Thx!
Cheers

Great video I’ve been thinking about getting one and I’m definitely getting one after seeing your video
What reel were you using in this video? I'm looking to buy a new rod and reel sometime soon. thanks bro
+Dustin Parker all gear used is listed in the video description :D
+1Rod1ReelFishing thanks man! looking to stock up for spring. Gonna try my best to beat my 7.5 from last year:D
the best deeper video👍👍
Thanks for letting us know about this amazing device!
great equipment for fishing, you've fished Tucunare?
u can use it as a bobber with live bait and stop rt on top of the fish so cool . i bet u can see fish when it comes up for your bait thats cool .
Will you ever fish at Lake Washington FL. I live near there and was wondering if we could fish together
+Preditorysporting T.V. i live in maryland so that would be a bit difficult :P
Wow mind blowing that was amazing keep up the good vids...And were did you get your Team Daiwa zillion type r
+Riley Russell tacklewarehouse, but its discontinued now
Your the best RUclipsr ever
+Elite Gaming thanks bro!
Great review. Just picked one up can't wait to use it
what's the test of the line that was used for casting? It's weighted around 4 oz wondering what's the correct setup to cast it
Thank God for 1rod👍🙂💯
Cool, but so expensive. I'd have to have a dedicated rod with 80lb+ line on it just to make sure I don't cast $300 out into the lake/river.
When are you going to make a rod/reel arsenal
Love the videos man I have learned so much from you I live in Rockville Maryland hope to fish with you some day
+Emil Tjonneland thanks for watching bro! feel free to enter any of my sub tournies to fish with me :D
Hey man wanna come up to pa next summer for some smallies
A must buy for the pier or shore fisherman.
are u choosing the winner today for the contest
Could you use this on a slow to fast moving river to locate catfish?
+Scott Campbell definitely slow moving water and probably fast moving water too, I'll try it out when it gets warmer on my river!
I usually fish a small river. When it rains it really comes alive but a few days after it calms down. Then that's she I try to catfish. They aren't huge catfish but big enough to eat.
+Scott Campbell Those are the best tasting ones. I think that the big cats have a strange taste to em. I like the ones that are right around our minimum length
Keep on making really good videos 👍🏼👍🏼
is the deeper worth it? does it actually catch you more fish?
+Andrew Perez definitely worth it. The deeper is a tool just like a jerkbait, or a jig. If you know how to use it correctly, it can help you catch more and bigger fish!
Awesome! Thanks man
have you tried fishing Canada. i live in Canada and i catch two pound plus bass
hey dude! big fan! great vids too! i live in massachusetts....ever think of doing a tournament around NH, VT, MA, MI, CT anytime?
+Bryce Miranda thanks for watching! I may be doing a tourney around that area sometime!
WOW That is fantastic. Awesome video! Amazing demonstration. Thank you.
Hello, i am going to buy a deeper because of you. Thanks for the tutorial.
+Digi-Reviews glad u enjoyed the vid! Slay some hawgs with the deeper xD
Very cool, and by the way your a very good fisherman!
what other apps do you use for fishing? I've been trying to find good ones but haven't had much luck
Any chance you still recommend this?
How do u know where the fishes are coming from? Left? Right? Front? Which way the fish is coming from?
How if you loose the transceiver? Can you purchase another?
How long have you been fishing for
so if I use the same setting will the fish come up as yellow dots
+Nicole Wilkes yup!
Thanks for the valuable advise on this video. Good Work.
Can u please go Walleye fishing or jack fishing that's what I'm used to but if not that's ok
So you still use this sonar?
what is that black tackle bag you carry with you?
+Street Lama tacklewarehouse angler backpack
+1Rod1ReelFishing thank you, I'm a pond hopper so I needed something portable
can u conect more than one phone to one deeper
+bluumeeny good question, you mean two at the same time? Or two different phones at separate times? I'm 90% sure the answer is yes to both questions, I'll get the creator of deeper to come here and answer it for u though :D
+1Rod1ReelFishing i meant two at the same time
The best rod and reel to start with?
+Brandon Jones 6'6" medium spinning combo
So it floats on top of the water??
great vid all explained really well 👍👍
Next year I'm def getting one of these!
What's the max range for Bluetooth ?
Thanks in advance
+Priyanshu Kant this model you can get connection up to 50 yards, their newest ver. gets connection up to 125 yds
What did you catch today? I caught a 1R1RF that I found on my deeper! It was a hog!
+WiredSolaris LOL
do you use ur device every time you go fishing?
not always, normally for bigger bodies of water or new spots I try out
I have this and one thing I'm afraid of is my line snapping and having to swim after it. I do have 30lb braid on it though.
Hey 1Rod1Reel, could you do a tutorial on how to fish a drop shot?
Can the deeper show a dead body underwater?
Hey man where can I get info on the tourney tommorow
