South Africa: Study Visa Requirements for University Students

Hello sir
I am in capetown working as an internal auditor for 2 and a half years. My assylum is expiring on 13 august.
I have my qualifications verified by saqa.
I have got the critical skill letter from Professional body.
Today, i have submitted the application for wavier.
Can i apply for th critical skills visa with my assylum expired?

I hope you are all well, I wanted to ask can I travel to another country while my visa is still being processed?
NOTE: I have Applied for a temporary residence visa in South Africa while in South Africa. which has been received at the Pretoria OC on Tue Jan 24 2023.
