What year did you pick up I’m looking at 2013 GL550 with 21” wheels has 100,000 miles what’s your opinion how long before air ride suspension goes out
What’s your 1 year ownership opinion of the car? How many miles, reliability or maintenance issues?
@mujjuman haven't gotten a chance to purchase for you only test drive the GL550 and 63 but I heard they're pretty reliable. What I will say is that airmatic suspension is not cheap to repair. The brakes are also computer controlled which is annoying but great vehicle
This is a good deal. These cars depreciated so good for a buyer. I bought my gl550 about 3 years ago (2013 model) and it was almost 40. But it was low miles and all that. But I strongly recommend the car. I’ve had 4 Mercedes Benz and it’s my favorite. Fuel light always stays on tho lol. I have cut outs so you can hear that awesome exhaust note. I wish I had the Pano roof and wish I had the designo package.
I used to own a 2007 e550 4magic with the NA 5.5, had designo brown upholstery. How reliable has it been for you. I want a 2014 GL63 but will settle for a GL550 if I get too impatient
@@UniversalPerformanceEnthusiast I’ve had no problems. Only maintenance items. Stay on top of fluids for sure. I noticed I have a oil “seep” coming from passenger valve cover. It’s not enough to deal with yet. I’ve replaced serpentine belt and an idler pulley that was making noise. But I notice the pulley being common with my experience with MB. I do all my own work. Saves tons of money. Parts are expensive. I paid 1200$ just for parts for pads and rotors oem. But I feel this car deserves oem stuff. Overall I totally recommend. The power and sound I don’t see the need for a 63 besides if you come up on one for a good price.
@@UniversalPerformanceEnthusiast I would like to have a s63 or even e63 now as a daily. My current daily is a c230 w203
@@StephenBrewer89 my favorite AMG cars are the GT 63 the C63 and the AMG GTR and the E63 s 4matic
@@StephenBrewer89 if you get one one day, let me know it could be featured on the RUclips channel.
I have the 2012, removed the resonators and the mufflers and had my friend fabricate an x-pipe and it lives up to the nickname…King of the Road…absolute beast…I love it!
Flooring a GL before it's reached operating temperature when you don't even own it. Pleb hours.
I just bought the 2013 GL550 and im in love with it
Im gonna hangon to it, trade it to dad for cash and his vehicle so we can keep it long term and im likely gonna get me a newer GLS63 model. I absolutely love how sporty it is for a beast of an suv
And for its size and performance its decent mpg given its a large SUV
How's it treating you, thinking about getting one tomorrow.
@GaryLoydG_Loyd it's good so far, Fast, Reliable however eats gas like crazy, I get better MPG with 93 NO Ethanol plus it's not super pricey here so I just run it
If you hotrod it you get
(3mpg flooring it)
9mpg at 130mph+
13-18mpg between 80-100mph
Averaging 14.5mpg between city/highway
Cruising/ cruise control usage on highway I can get up to 15 city 25 highway max
I'm aware the intake air ducts are garbage as I bought mine broken (only $48 on Amazon for both with shipping and easy DIY)
The Air suspension can be a problem and is pricey fix plus the engine is known to have cylinder sleve scoring but Mines running fine at 91k miles (bought at 88k) had it for 4 months now
Honestly performance wise it's zippy for a 5k pound 10 year old beast. Plus if you wanna tune it then it gets decent HP
Offroad testing showed very good handling and a very smooth ride offroad at 30-40 mph
Space wise it's massive and has plenty of room, some have heated ventilated second row even which mine does
If you aren't used to a large SUV be careful especially if you got the amg rims like mine does ($800 each)
But yeah ultimately it's a looker, it turns heads, it's a roaring V8 and it's not just soccer moms land yacht, it's a beast of an SUV and definitely performance luxury that can take even some of today's sports cars
@@ponypowertrucking thank you, I'm definitely going to get it now.
I'm going to make it my next purchase it's a must have

2012 is the best, after that its a different vehicle, still good, but get a 2012 or 2011
Nice... I just started looking at a 2010 model, how do you feel about those?
The 2010 models are good too but personally I would stick with 2013 and up because everything about them is better
@@UniversalPerformanceEnthusiast got it, thank you so much for your response.
i guess you cant close the hatch with the remote
Is this car still available ?
Yes
@@UniversalPerformanceEnthusiast I see in comments Someone asked for price and you said $22k
But this car is listed on cars dot come for $26950 something is not right here
@@mikimiki195 the dealership has two of the same exact models. One has a beige interior and the other black interior. The price difference between the two I believe is the mileage. The name of the dealership is "Supreme Carriage." If you Google them the website should pop up
I bought one today
How much???
22K
How have you been doing?
Just copped a GL550 yesterday. Gonna play with the features. Its a power house of a truck
